Great experience. Requested a quote to have our septic pumped and have risers installed. We received a prompt response, and they were able to get us on the schedule right away. They did exactly what they said they would do, when they said they would do it. The person who came out for our job, Andros, was fantastic -- polite, efficient, skilled, and let us know in advance when he was on his way to our property. Will never use this company again and would encourage you to use someone else. They pumped my tanks fine and then tried to pressure me into buying a new pump. Pump is old but still working at 30 gal minute. Unknown to me they then raised the turnoff float to the top of the tank and put the electrical box that had always been on top of the cement tank cover under the cover in the tank. When the water rose it shorted pump and the alarm went off. Had to call someone else to fix since the actions and workmanship were intentional to drive a future sale of a new pump. In their quote for a new they even stated that there would be electrical expenses to install a new pump even through to replace you just plug it in. Do not use this company. Do you ever notice how things seem to break simultaneously? My sand filter alarm was going off at the same time my 20+ year old Intermatic timer decided it had had enough of this life. I called Septic Response and they were outstanding. In no time my tanks were pumped, my sand filter pump replaced and a referral to Network Electric got me a working timer and life is good. I called Septic Response regarding a septic tank pumping that I needed to do. Anthony answered the phone while on a job and asked me to text him instead. I did that and Anthony replied after getting some free time to set up an appointment. Upon arrival Anthony explained about the 2 compartment tank system I have and showed me what needed to be done. He also pointed out a few issues that he saw, while not something that I needed to take action immediately but something I should be aware of. Some issues that he found was that I did not have a real outlet baffle and filter. He did not have those available at the time and promised to come back later to have them installed, and surely he did. Overall I think Anthony did an excellent job in both pointing out issues as well as explaining why those were an issue and what I should do. These guys were amazing. This is the first septic system I've ever had to deal with, and it's old and rather mysterious to boot. So you can imagine the extra level of horror when I discovered black water overflowing up out of our basement bathtub and toilet one Saturday afternoon! I called one service that had "emergency services" on their page - well, if you need me to call back on Monday morning just to schedule, you don't have emergency service. My second call was to Septic Response, who answered immediately, told me what to do, and promised to come the following morning. True to their word, a team arrived mid-morning on Sunday, located the system, removed the blockage that caused the backup. But they also took the time to explain everything to us - where things drained, possible issues given the age of the system, what we need to do to maintain it, and, yes, suggested a way to fix it up such that we wouldn't have such a problem accessing it next time. They were fantastic and very patient with us. The bill was about what you'd expect, but not insane for an emergency service, and at no time did I feel any attempt to upsell or misrepresent - they were so patient showing my husband and myself everything they were seeing and what it might mean, and it all made sense. Look no further if you have any septic needs. These people are the best, and furthermore they are about the nicest people you could ever imagine dealing with. First off, Anthony answered the phone when I called, so I was dealing with "the guy" from the get go. I was having slow drainfield issues, and he got his crew out here in a matter of days. He sent Andros and Kent, who were just super and are the kind of people you'd be great having as your neighbors. They gave me phone and text updates estimating when they were going to arrive, which were very professional and greatly appreciated. They suctioned out my lateral lines, ran water into them, tested the system and gave it a clean bill of health, then pumped the tank at my request. They answered all my questions, and then Anthony answered some followup questions on the phone the next day and had some excellent tips for monitoring my system and maintaining it preventively, which I immediately put on my calendar. I have no idea how competitive they are on price, but the bill seemed reasonable for what they did, how well they did it and how agreeable they were to work with. You don't want to cut corners when it comes to septic system service. I called another septic service company before I called Septic Response, and it was like night and day. The guy acted as if he were doing me an immense favor by even talking to me, and he gave me a condescending lecture about how nothing could be done to rejuvenate a gravity system, how my system was shot and the only reasonable thing to do was spend $40,000 on a new one, how he wouldn't be able to come out to my place for at least a couple of weeks, and that if he had to come out here to prove his point, it was going to cost me big time. I told him that in that case, I would probably be contacting other companies, and he proceeded to badmouth the industry and warn me that I could easily get ripped off. Helpful, prompt, always a pleasant attitude, happy to discuss needs, reasonable prices, does good work, and willing to give recommendations on how to improve the septic system via simple DIY versus paying someone else to do it. To be clear, he also offered to perform those things if we didn't have any desire to do them ourselves. We knew our septic system was due for pumping so started looking into companies to perform the job. Then we had our alarm go off due to high gray water in effluent tank, which sort of pushed that effort into high gear. I reached out to 3 companies on a Saturday evening. I didn't expect a response right away from any of them. One didn't respond at all, one sent information after 24 hours, and Septic Response responded right away. I submitted an online request to Anthony called me within 2 minutes. I couldn't believe it. We discussed my needs and the troubleshooting I'd already performed. He was helpful with advice and guidance. He was quick to put me on the books, offering to get me in the next day if needed. It wasn't that emergent, so we settled on Thursday. Anthony confirmed by text after we I'm hung up. He also confirmed the night before and let me know what time he'd arrive. He arrived, we discussed the job, and he got to work. He recognized a filter, a septic tee, and filter that need to be replaced. I thought I had a problem with animals digging into my septic mound, so I called Septic Response, expecting an expensive evaluation and lots of equipment and digging. What I got was the most honest answer I've ever received from a septic company.... that it was very unlikely a situation to be overly concerned about and they shared some warning signs to to look out for should the digging continue. The gentleman I spoke with did not make me feel dumb (as many septic folks tend to do), rather he educated me and made me feel better about what was going on. I continue to monitor the mound area and have taken steps to keep the animals (likely raccoons) away. I will definitely contact Septic Response again for my septic needs. read more
