Surprise!.....late Saturday night the septic tank decided to back up.....first time out the gate for a home emergency type situation.... Mikaela at 10:45pm comes out of her room to go potty... and I hear: AUNTIE!! Help the water is coming up! Auntie: I'm coming! (Knowing what this could be because Mandy experienced this one Christmas morning in this house) fearing what I am going to see when I get to the bathroom....sure enough it's backing up into the tub and toilet! Mikaela: Auntie what do we do?! (Potty dance is starting) Auntie: Ok, umm is it just pee? Mikaela: yes (dancing more and more) Auntie: Ok, come here and just go really fast! I get my phone and who do I call....of course my parents! Who else does a girl call when these things happen! They tell me what to do and to call someone to see if they can come out. I start googling then I find somebody who has a 24 hour service... I called them and they pick up his name is Ken and he tells me what to do. He was to come out here Sunday morning to hopefully get things fix. I called my parents back to let them know what's going on and what to do when he gets here. Get off the phone and then I get a call right back from my parents saying is his phone number...? And I find the number and say yeah it is! And apparently this is the same guy my sister called when she needed somebody to help her with the situation. Dad went through her phone contacts and found Ken the septic guy! I'm not sure if Mandy was guiding me from the heavens above Saturday night on who to call. But I guessed right and called her person! Hopefully we will be fixed up in the next few hours. We recently had our septic alarm go off and were going to go with a previously used contractor but were disappointed to learn they wanted an additional $125 distance charge this time around (claiming this was "a break" from the normal fee north of $300) to come to Woodinville. Nope. A quick search brought me to Ken and All-County Septic (also listed as Northlake Septic Services). Ken answered the phone right away and was able to come out less than an hour later. We were due to have our tanks pumped anyway but Ken took the time to walk me through a few potential issues that could have tripped the alarm before performing a thorough inspection and troubleshooting the cause - a failed pump. Ken was honest and upfront about the cost, even mentioning that there were guys out there that would be cheaper but quality work from a professional, knowledgeable contractor I can trust is worth far more to me when it comes to my home. The faulty pump was removed and Ken installed the new pump, tested it and took the time to walk me through specifics of my tank setup, operation and maintenance. I can't recommend All-County Septic enough. They were quick, careful and professional. Ken is incredibly knowledgeable and cares about providing his customers with outstanding service. Why are there only 5 stars available? There should be more and I would give them all to Ken with All County Septic. Our septic was backing up on a Sunday morning and I called Ken to see if we could get it pumped. Because of all the rain we've had and everyone needing help his truck was full and the dump was closed. I explained to him what was happening and he said "let me call you right back". He called a friend of his who allowed him to empty his truck into his friends truck. He called right back and said he would be there in an hour. First impressions don't have to be face to face. As soon as I got off the phone with Ken I told my husband "this is a good guy". I couldn't have been more right. He knows what he's doing and is so patient about explaining everything. Unfortunaltley because of a failing drain field we had to call again today. Once again he showed up took care of the issue and explained in detail all of our options. Every once in a while my faith is restored in humanity! This was my experience with Ken from all county septic. My septic system failed during the last snow day. My kids were home and getting over the stomach flu. . I was able to find a company that came out and emptied my septic the next day. They said everything should be fine for a while. Then everything backed up again. I was referred to Ken by another plumbing company. I called Ken and he spent an hour going over what might be going on with my system and step by step instruction to troubleshoot many of the problems on my own. Unfortunately he does not service my area however he immediately gave me the contact of someone he completely trusts. He then followed up with me to show me how to check the inlet baffle and drain field and then what I might do in the mean time to save money. I am sure he saved me a ton of money in diagnosis fees. Came home this afternoon, my niece told me I just flushed the toilet and brown water started to fill in the bath. I called Ken, he answered right away and fit us into his schedule within the hour. Upon arriving ken and his helper got right to it. Opened everything, saw I had a problem and fix the problem before pumping. Made sure I was all working properly and clean each tank properly. Rate quotes where fair and I already recommended him to my neighbor with the same sand filter system. Before leaving Ken gave me a few recommendations for the future to be aware of and I will be giving him a call in two years for a scheduled cleaning and maintenance. I had a major problem with my septic tank on President's Day weekend. I made a dozen calls for help and got a call back from Ken at 8 PM. He listened to my problem and showed empathy and understanding. He assured me he'd get to me in the morning on Sunday when all the others were off. He called at 0730 on Sunday morning and arrived by 0800hrs. What a blessing to have someone who delivers this kind of service. First time having to deal with the septic tank (our old home was on sewer and a apartment). Apartment we just called a maintenance person over, as a first time home owner and a first major "adulting" project, I had no idea where to even begin but to google and call a bunch of local companys when it over flowed into our shower. I made an emergency call to this business, my mother-in-law's toilets and shower were backed up and she couldn't use them. Ken came and pumped out the septic tank, but it turned out that she had a much larger problem with the plumbing, not with the septic tank. He worked so hard to fix it, he must have spent a half-hour after the tank was pumped trying to get the problem solved. When it was clear that only a plumber could do this, he told us exactly what needed to be done so that I knew what to tell the plumber. We had Ken out just about a year ago for an emergency pump of our septic tank on Thanksgiving day!! He was SO nice, efficient and reasonably priced. We found the diamond in the rough. Then we just had a pipe blocked on the way to the tank. My husband ran a snake through and found the blockage but couldn't get it free. I have never written a Yelp review before, but this is one of the best experiences we've had with any business in the Seattle area. We had an alarm go off on our septic system on Friday night around 7:30pm. We called around and finally found A-1 All County Septic and talked to Ken. He was absolutely amazing! He talked us through how to figure out what was causing the alarm and how to fix it over the phone! It turns out his company doesn't do service calls to our area so he referred us to another company for follow up. We would recommend Ken and A-1 to all of our family and friends. I called for a septic tank pump out expecting a wait but Ken said he was in the area and to my surprise could be at my home in half an hour. He explained my whole septic system, confirmed that the drain field was in good shape but the tank needed a replacement baffle which was replaced. Then the connection to the house was power washed to clear a blockage. I felt the they went over and above what was expected. Because of the age of my system it will at some point need further replacement of old concrete piping and I will not hesitate to call on them again.
