I used Jafco in my old home for a few jobs...repairing a leak in our basement ceiling and fixing our bathtub trim. Jafco was easy to schedule and did a good job. Next, I bought a 1931 home that was a rental. It had deferred maintenance. And the inspection report told me I would need to make some plumbing fixes. I had them replace all the tub/shower faucets and valves. I also got a new tub drain (there was evidence that at some point there had been a leak). I got a new water shut off. A new copper water line for the fridge. A new basement utility sink. New water connection to the washer. A new p-trap to the bathroom sink. I learned that the best faucets are Moen. Garrett and Abe are a great team. I do feel like Jafco is more expensive than if you hire a local one-person plumber. That might be to cover their marketing and scheduling. But Jafco can fit your in pretty quickly. So that is a nice trade-off for when your plumbing job is time sensitive. read more

Jafco Plumbing had previously done two plumbing/sewer jobs for me at a reasonable cost and I had paid for a membership to get discounted services in the future. So, when I needed new hot and cold water inlet valves installed before the delivery crew would install my new washer, I called Jafco and made an appointment. The basic fee for a service call was quoted as $180. The Jafco plumber, Leif Storkersen, came as scheduled, looked at the job, and wrote up an estimate. I was stunned to see the cost: $691.38! When I expressed my astonishment and dismay, he explained that they had a minimum job cost, so the price was the total of their minimum job cost plus the two valves, plus tax. I accepted this outrageous bid because I figured that I was on the hook for the service call and because of the time pressure--the washer delivery was scheduled for the next day. Yes, Jafco successfully installed excellent new spigot valves, but I doubt very many plumbers in Seattle would charge almost $700 for barely a half hour of work and a few dollars in parts. read more

Unfortunately, the second project coincided with some serious health problems of one of the members of our family. I used Jafco Plumbing at the recommendation of someone else who had recently used them for a plumbing situation. I'm not sure I made the right decision, but unfortunately am committed now for my mistakes. My shower faucet was leaking and I thought it would be a fairly simple fix (replace the cartridge) and I was quoted about $400 (I believe). Since the plumber was already there, I agreed. He had to leave to get the part and then come back, and hours later, replaced the cartridge but still said he could hear water leaking from behind the wall. He asked my permission to open up the wall a bit to see what was going on. I gave him permission, and he opened up a tiny part, said that he was pretty sure the CPVC pipe/line was cracked and would need to be replaced, but he would need to open the wall up further to replace. I begrudgingly agreed (and agreed to the new quote of $1300 plus tax, which seemed high but better than having mold or other damage behind my wall). The plumber was at my place for over six hours, and yes, the leak was fixed but 1) my shower looks terrible now because he put an oversized plate on it to cover up his demo work (and oh, it doesn't fit so he added a piece of plastic to cover up the hole) and 2) the handle wasn't even put back on at the same angle so it just out in a weird way now when I turn it. The plumber also said he would follow up with me about getting a better looking plate installed and he never did. I don't remember his name, but he definitely makes me never want to work with Jafco again. read more

Had Jafco out for two jobs in 2023, a bit over 8K in total. Staff was considerate and friendly but the work hasn't held up well and Jafco isn't standing behind it. Water heater developed a leak from a valve at the top of the tank two years after installation, Jafco won't come inspect it without charging me. Shower cartridge installation failed after 18 months, had another plumbing company out to fix it. Disappointed in both the quality of the work, and in their response to my respectful asks to stand behind their work. I wouldn't recommend doing business with them. read more

I have a stormwater drainage challenge for my home. I had a tech come out from Jafco worked for about 1.5 hours to do a pressure wash out of the drainage pipes (which were not clogged) and to be told that the pipes intersected at a 'T' through which his equipment would not be able to pass through. Ok, fair enough but he said that someone would be in contact with me to look at next steps (the drainage pipes go into a dry well so maybe the dry well is clogged etc. etc). And, that the visit estimate would be free (as the cost was very high for the high pressure treatment). No one ever contacted me even after a followup email on 11/11/24. As I'm getting back to this project I'm posting this review. I think my annoyance is based on the cost, the level of work and the lack of follow through. read more

Our outdoor spigot (15 years old) attached to our garage started leaking so we pinged a few places to get quotes late Wed evening. The Jafco team responded immediately, scheduled Garrett and Joey to come out the next day within a two-hour window. They arrived on time, talked me through the issue and fix (the hose bib and stem had to be replaced -- they'd need to cut a hole into the drywall to access it, would be covered with 8x8 access panel) in a straightforward understandable manner with no pressure to go with them. I received an emailed quote within 5 minutes of their departure. Their quote ended up being a little more than another quote we received, but they were able to come back the next morning to do the work so we went when Jafco. Garrett and Joey returned the next day (right on time) and completed the job in about an hour and spent time explaining what they did and best practices to prolong the life of the hose bib). Dakota came over and did a superb job unblocking our mainline(emergency in a Sunday). He also identified other issues in the line and septic, for which he quoted and scheduled for the same week. He helped in getting Garret and Abraham (plumbers) to identify the problem on the line and fix it (line had a bad usage of a sanitary T where there should have been a Y). Now our sewer line is good to go and we have confidence in that blockage would be harder to happen. Definitely would work with Jaffa again in the future for other plumbing needs. read more

I had new countertops installed and needed to lower the drain line to accommodate a new undermount sink. I made a couple calls to different plumbing companies, but the quotes that each of them offered were wildly out of step with what the work actually entailed. (Probably because my countertops were already there, so it's not like I had much choice! Always move your plumbing first if you think you might need to during a remodel.) I reached out to Jafco for a quote and they were able to have someone come out a couple days later. Mykal offered a quick assessment that yes, the drain line would have to move down, and offered fair estimates: one to just lower the drain line and one to hook back up the garbage disposal, dishwasher, and P-trap as well. I opted to go all in as it was only a few hundred more and would save me a lot of time. He ran back to his shop for a few additional parts and within 45 minutes of arriving back at my condo, he was done! It's wild how fast he was able to pull this off--I probably could have figured this out, but would have been struggling over it for the better part of a day. And the before and after shows he was also able to save a bunch of under-the-sink space for me while he was at it. Mykal saved me a boat-load of time and frustration, pointed out a few small tweaks that could be made, but didn't pressure me on doing anything I didn't need to do. We have had Jafco come out twice for emergency service. They were super fast to respond and can schedule through Yelp rather than making you call "the office." They are not the cheapest but also not the most expensive. They also have arrived on time which feels like a miracle! The plumbers who have come out have been absolutely nothing but professional and polite. Our house is old and some component is always missing, which they fix like missing sealant. In addition to the clog, they leave it better than they found it which is super appreciated. The plumbers also don't mind answering random adjacent questions for these new homeowners. We had two drains (same stack) that were running slow/nearly clogged. Sean came by on the day of our request, diagnosed the issue, and gave us several options for dealing with it. Since those drains hadn't been seen to in over 20 years, we opted for cabling both, plus jetting out the main line. During work, Sean discovered the two angle stops downstairs were leaking, so we opted to replace those as well. The whole job was done in about two hours, and the price for ALL was less than what some places charge for just the jetting. Jafco is now on the top of our call list for plumbing issues! Dripping water from garbage disposal resulted in visit to Yelp, where Jafco popped up and I'd dealt with them once in the past with success. Was able to get an appointment for the following day and they arrived when they said they would. In fact, when the road crew was unable to reach me the office called and patched us together so I can say they made the extra effort to ensure the appointment happened. The guys on site were friendly and competent and worked efficiently and collaboratively. While one fixed the sink I showed the other one an idea I had for my laundry room and we had a productive conversation about the space, plumbing, electrical, and cost. Fantastic customer service and nice guys. First experience was a $363 small (the lower powered one) snake job. Was worth it. Then $5280 for a half-day of work (2 men) to install a bi-directional cleanout. Here's the breakdown: 1) Obtain locations of public underground utilities. Obtain permit from city. 2) Excavate a 4'x4' hole up to 3' deep to expose sewer pipe on exterior of house. 3) Replace up to 4' of existing pipe with SDR35 PVC pipe and add a two way cleanout at the house. 4) Bed exposed pipe using type22 crushed rock. 5) Obtain inspection to have installed work approved. 6) Backfill hole using native soil. 7) Add seed and topsoil as needed. 8) Clean up and haul all related debris off site. read more

We bought a house that came with old galvanized pipe throughout the house. After looking at Yelp reviews, I selected four and contacted them. Only two answered. We had a small drain issue so I retained the first one as a test. They "cleared" the drain, charged me ~$220, but it didn't improve the drain much. I had them create a quote to move a washer/dryer combo and also one to redo all the supply plumbing (not drains) in the house. Jafco came out to look at the same jobs and provide quotes. I have to say that my first interaction with Patrick and team was head and shoulders above the first crew. Honestly, it was more like comparing apples with...filet mignon. Not even in the same league or species. They gave recommendations on what to do and not do and even provided some options I hadn't considered. Since the estimates overall were around $10K, I had to think about this. Fortunately, I didn't have to think too hard as the attention to detail at Jafco was superb. I went forward with them, they did the work cleanly, helped make sure everything worked correctly, and Patrick himself even fixed an issue that seemed related (but wasn't) a few days later.
