This is one of my favorite courses of all time. The course is beautiful year-round, especially late Spring and early Fall. The course is laid outdifferent from most courses. The front is a par 38 and the back is a par 32. Par 32, piece of cake, right? Wrong. The back is demanding and extremely narrow. You have to play smart, hit your shots, and leave your shots to green in the right place. The pro shop is rocked well enough and both Bob and Chris are excellent. The practice areas here are enough to get you ready for your round, or allow you to work on your game. The driving range is rough, but it works. There is an outside deli window that is open for most of the year that you can grab stuff at the turn at, and the bar has dogs and chips when the deli is closed. The restaurant has huge glass windows that let you lookout onto the course at dinner and the food has always been excellent. Everyone I have ever met here has been kind, personable, and easy-going. It's not a stuffy club. Come in the summer and watch kids cannon ball off the diving board. It's a great place to golf, a great place to just be, and it's definitely one of my happy places. read more

Drove up to Sequoia Woods from Angels Camp. The weather was at least 10 degrees cooler, which is necessary in the summer months. Sat on the patio and had a drink before dinner. The landscape was relaxing and beautiful. Loved seeing all the people taking advantage of the beautiful scenery. Our honest came and got us when our table was ready. She was very polite. Our server Jen was very knowledgeable about the menu and full of smiles from beginning to end. The food (prime rib) was incredible and cooked to perfection with everyone's sides just as delicious. The country club came highly recommended for the area and prime rib sounded perfect for dinner. The country club is quaint & the scenery is charming. The staff were mostly friendly and our waitress was a doll. Bread and olive oil/balsamic promptly came to the table. Not the highest quality balsamic as it refused to attach to the bread. Not a deal breaker but nonetheless disappointing. I had the French onion soup to start and it was pretty tasty. Ordered my prime rib medium rare but it came out medium and my first bite was unfortunately a mouthful of salt. To make matters worse it was a challenge getting our small water glasses refilled. What a fun little place to enjoy in Arnold, CA! The golf course is so well kept and the property is managed well. Kelly and Bob are doing a great job in keeping the place fun and beautiful. I had both lunch and dinner here. The vibes are different for both. I enjoyed some delis sandwiches / fries while I laid out by the pool during the hot day. Then had a fancy dinner inside at night. My son and I met my second cousins here for dinner and it was absolutely delicious. The French onion soup is something you don't want to miss! It was the broth for me. Good depth. We had the bruschetta for a starter. So elegant and perfect!. I ordered the halibut with a macadamia nut crust and mango salsa, very good. My son had the prime rib, very tasty, perfectly done for a medium rare order. The mashed potatoes were creamy and delicious. Had chocolate mousse for dessert. Wish I had room to finish it all, it was definitely the best chocolate mouse I have had. (Sorry no picture!). Their service was friendly, attentive and the environment on the course is beautiful! Had such a great time at the pool. The deli/snack bar and bar are pretty good. Been going up to the cabin all the time for years and the family decided to get a membership. Next to no one at the pool which was very nice and love they provided pool noodles. The kids got to have fun as millions of lady bugs must have recently hatched. read more

Amazing wedding venue! We got married here 2 weeks ago and had the most wonderful, fun, amazing wedding which more than exceeded our expectations thanks to Nancy and her amazing staff! Nancy replied to every single one of my frantic bride emails and was kind and professional throughout the whole process of wedding planning. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, the staff really went above and beyond setting up and catering to our needs. The restaurant at Sequoia Woods is also amazing! The food for the wedding was prepared by the restaurant and was INCREDIBLE. Guests are still telling me just how delicious the food was! While this isn't a review for the golf course itself (I've never played there), anyone planning on getting married in the sierras really should consider this amazing spot in Arnold, CA. What a difference the bartender makes. We ordered 2 Manhattans this evening and they were absolutely undrinkable. I said this to the cocktail waitress and she apologized and said that the food from the menu "is edible" and walked away. The drinks would've been better from a college bar. We left full drinks on the table as we exited. 3 weeks ago I had a different experience where they had a bartender that obviously cared about his craft & delivered a very nice experience. Sequoia Woods Country Club is located in the Blue Lake Springs subdivision of Arnold. It is set in such a lovely location among beautiful evergreen trees. I've heard that it is a nice course to play golf too. My review is for the restaurant. There is a bar on the left side of the building and the restaurant is on the right. The food is tasty and the servers are super friendly. We have a favorite server who always welcomes us when we return and does a great job. Ask for a table near the big windows so you can have a view of the beautiful golf course whilst dining. But make sure to arrive before sunset or else you won't be able to enjoy the gorgeous view. Full bar, wine list of amazing local vineyards and 5 star food. Recommend getting early seating because favorites sell out often like the prime rib. read more

First, Yelp needs to note that the bar area IS open on Monday for a great variety on Pub night. Last night I had a good clam chowder and coconut pork curry. Others at my table enjoyed a medium rare perfectly cooked cheeseburger and a French dip on a lovely crusty roll. In the summer eating on the patio gives you a great golf course and pine tree view. In the winter get there early for a seat by the fireplace. 5 PM to 7:30 Monday summer hours. The menu changes weekly and is posted on their Facebook page after 4 each week. read more

Pork belly accompanied was AWFUl! Corkage fee very reasonable so it's better to bring your own then pay for a bottle in restaurant. There was music that was scheduled to start st 7:30 but isn't nearly ready. Very laid back in this mountain town! People are friendly! Staff efficient. Can I give this place zero stars?! I have never been anywhere where several people had their credit cards stolen from behind the bar and the staff (at first) told them "we don't have your credit cards, I don't know what to tell you. How would you like to pay your bill?'" Now I'm sure they get dead beats all the time who try to skip out on paying their bill. However, if several customers are telling you they want to cash out and you don't have their credit cards that you obviously gathered when you gave them their drinks...don't you think something is wrong?! You'd think the proper response would be to call the manager or the police if several cards were taken. It was like rubbing salt on an open wound. Outstanding food, service and ambiance. I'm so happy to know that I have this restaurant almost within walking distance, every time I'm kicking it in the mountains. To date, I've eaten here 4 times and each and every time, the experience has been fantastic. Keep up the good work y'all. I HIGHLY recommend the following: 1. Fritto Misto. Perfectly breaded and fried calamari and rock shrimp, accompanied by a zesty red pepper coulis? Lemon wedges always welcome. 2. Filet Mignon. Always perfectly cooked, occasionally a bit too salty, and in good company with fingerlings and a slightly meager portion of broccoli rabe. 3. A nice bottle....or two, of Bogle Merlot. You just can't lose with any flavor from this winery. Have you tried their Old Vine Zin??? Off the fucking hook, liquid fucking silk affordable party in your mouth delicious but not served at this classy joynt.......yet? 4. My rating might have a slight bias as I have been golfing at SWCC since I was a little kid. I really enjoy the beautiful views and quality of course. This is the best course within an hours drive easily. What makes this course so neat is that the front and back 9 are nothing alike. The front nine is long and wide open, fairways side to side for forgiveness. The back nine you are traveling on the mountain side in narrow fairways with ominous trees running the length of each hole. The only part of this course I don't absolutely love is the driving range. You are hitting into a hill and are not allow to use your driver. My buddies have our own tournament up there every year for spring break. Watch out for us, we wear colors of Saturday and all black on Sundays. The S.A.U.S.A.G.E. CUP. The bar area is great and if you have little ones there is a nice pool you can drop them off at. read more

I have to say that I have been completely impressed with Nancy the manager who coordinates the weddings at this location. Extremely reasonable prices seeing as you do not have to rent the venue & pay a head count charge for dinner. Nancy is accommodating and willing to work with you on things. She has never said NO I cannot do that. If it is something they have not done before, she says so and then states, but we can try. **Review of the lounge only** My girl friends and I went here on a saturday night when we were staying up in Arnold at her family's cabin. A few weeks prior her mom had overheard some girls talking about this as being the place to go on Friday/Saturday nights so we decided to check it out. First of all, I'm pretty sure we crashed a wedding. The reception had been in the patio and most of the people were gone by the time we got there but there were still a couple bridesmaids and some guests dancing and drinking. The DJ was pretty good and drinks were strong. I'm not sure if there is much else to do in Arnold on a Saturday night but this lounge was great for people watching (including a drunk woman trying to steal her friend's husband) read more

I got married here in July 2013 and it was the best venue! They are so friendly, helpful and accommodating. The prices are reasonable. It is absolutely gorgeous here! Our wedding was outside on the patio and it was breathtaking. I can't speak highly enough of Nancy and her team. They are wonderful. Did everything I wanted so I didn't have to worry about things on my wedding day and it turned out beautifully. All of our guests commented on how gorgeous the scenery was and how good the food was (The country club catered our food). PERFECT place to have an outdoors summer wedding in the mountains. What a surprise...an excellent dinner in Arnold! Stopped in for a Monday evening dinner recently...wasn't quite sure what to expect as small mountain towns are sometimes void of good food. I had the wild salmon - it was amazing! One of the best plates of salmon I've ever had - cooked perfectly, presented beautifully and delicious.
