The menu photo showed a creamy, saucy vodka pasta. What I received was dry rigatoni with very little sauce, no creamy vodka consistency, and it arrived cold. It looked and tasted like plain tomato pasta instead of vodka sauce. Extremely disappointing for a $22 entrée. read more

We were in the restaurant for about three hours total, and it took roughly two hours for our food to arrive after we ordered, with almost no meaningful updates or apologies from staff during that time. In the meantime, they still managed to get our drink order wrong--more than once--and what we did receive was poorly made and inconsistent with what was described on the menu. When we raised the issues, the response felt more dismissive than corrective: no urgency, no offer to remake items properly, and no sign that anyone was in control of the dining room. By the time the food finally showed up, any enjoyment of the meal was long gone. The kitchen delays, repeated drink mistakes, and lack of accountability turned what should have been a straightforward dinner into a three‑hour ordeal. This place is popular so definitely make a reservation. Dim lighting set the ambiance in the evening. Classy decor. White linen tablecloths. I loved my lasagna! I highly recommend. One of the best I've had. My boyfriend enjoyed his salmon. The Caesar salad was good, but not amazing. The presentation was lovely but the dressing was a bit bland. I had the chocolate ganache cake for dessert. Again, good, but not amazing. Pretty dense. Tasty cocktails too. I had a Drunken Blueberry and an aperol spritz. Warm, clean and cozy on a cold and wet day. Emma was our server and she did a fantastic job recommending dishes. I had the lobster bisque, and it was outstanding. I had their lasagna bolognese which was so delicious and cheesy. My hubs had their steak and he said it was delicious. This was a serendipitous find. We were in a bookstore down the block having a nice conversation with the owner who recommended this place. We were not too hungry for a big dinner, but were looking for a lite meal or several appetizers. We chose this place based on the recommendation. We sat at the small bar and struck up a conversation with the woman bartender. We ordered drinks and two appetizers. Fried oysters and fried calamari. They were both quite tasty. A bit later a gentleman sat down near us. Turned out he was a Kentucky legislator. Frankfort is the capital of Kentucky after all. The bar displayed all of their bourbons. All from Kentucky. I was visiting Frankfort this weekend and looking forward to eating here, but I was disappointed. We waited more than 90 minutes from the time we ordered until our food arrived. My chicken pasta Caesar salad had almost NO chicken in it and my husband's lasagna was just layers of noodles with "some" sauce and NO cheese in the middle. On the plus side, our server, Alex, was very nice. Not sure if I'll have a chance to come back this way and give them another try. read more

To preface, I have worked in kitchens for 10 years ranging from quick service to fine dining. The absolute worst steak I have ever had in my life. The strip steak had zero seasoning, the steak butter tasted how the inside an auto parts store smells. I ordered my steak medium and received a rare steak that was still semi purple in the center. My wife ordered an apple salad add chicken, chicken was seasoned but came out below room temperature. For a $100 dinner at 5pm with zero other patrons in the building by far one of the worst meals I have ever consumed. Would not recommend to anyone. read more

I was looking forward to trying this place for the first time. I got fettuccine with beef tips. My pasta was not drained well. My cream sauce was watery and bland. Also there was no bread and butter on the table and none was offered. This was not a worthy $20 bowl of pasta. My companion liked her Alfredo pasta. But I'm so disappointed I won't go back. I want to start off by saying that I have been a bartender and I have worked in food and beverage for over 20 years. I understand that people sometimes get overwhelmed when a restaurant is busy. However, my husband and I went to Serafini's for a date night last night, and the bartender was so extremely rude. She never said hello, never smiled, she did manage to finally get us a drink but when we asked about dinner she told us it would be a long wait for food. We were happy to sit and enjoy a few cocktails, but she never even gave us a menu, it almost felt as if she did not want us there. Frankfort is a small town and we love going out to local businesses, but we will never go to Serafini's again if that is the kind of service we are going to get. Serafini is a true gem in downtown Frankfort! We had a party of 13 and they went above and beyond providing us with an amazing experience. The atmosphere is elegant yet welcoming, the staff is fantastic, and the food is incredible. It was a culinary delight. Add in their excellent bourbon and cocktail selection, and you have the perfect night out. Our server, Tosha was outstanding. We throughly enjoyed visiting with Carlos the managing partner. Management.. needs a lecture from Gordon Ramsey on customer service .. I mean it's a restaurant.. you're open to serve food to people, make money.. right? So it's a Saturday, late afternoon, homecoming is goin on.. and they are booked on reservations.. which is fine.. but the bar serves food. Bar is crowded. No tables. There's no seating for the 3 of us.. so we kinda grab 3 chairs and shove ourselves in a corner .. kinda on top of other people who are eating..we await, hoping for someone to leave.. however.. there is a 4 top.. sitting at the 4 top are 2 people with computers.. a blond..and a heavy set guy. I'm thinking go to a coffee shop already.. . But then I think about it.. I go online.. and google images of management of Serafini ... and sure as sh*t.... The 2 people sitting at the 4 top with computers are management for Serafini I get pretty annoyed. .. it says a lot about restaurant management that is holding meetings on a busy Saturday and 6 feet away they don't notice customers shoved into a corner.... Customers, mind you, who are willing to throw down another 200 on their expensive food and drink.. did I mention the ENTIRE restaurant is all but empty? I also wondered why this meeting wasn't being held in , I don't know, this thing called an office? I mean maybe it's me.. We tried this place recently for dinner and were unfortunately disappointed. The restaurant has a lot of potential, but came up short. The bruschetta appetizer was tasty. But they didn't clear the appetizer or plates until the meal was over. The Kentucky hot brown burger was enjoyable. My wife's steak however was not. She ordered the filet, medium. She had to ask for a steak knife, which she definitely needed the way it was cooked. It came out medium-well, but the flavor was like roast beef. Very dry and pot-roast like. I'm not sure it would have tasted much better if it were cooked correctly. Red-velvet cake was just ok. Unfortunately, we would look for another dinner option when we decide to visit the area in the future. read more

What a wonderful birthday family reunion! Family from Oklahoma and Texas met up with family from Maryland right here in Frankfort. Seven of us enjoyed a lovely dinner with exceptional service by Taylor. Appetizers were delicious, the three bottles of wine were tasty and the lasagna and desserts were fabulous. Beautiful classy restaurant with linens and lovely decor. A big band trio was playing live music which really set the scene for a fun evening with family. ****next day update *** Unfortunately, indulging in too much wine can result in taking home all the receipts (including the tip). We called the next morning when the mistake was discovered and stopped by the restaurant later that night to hand deliver Taylor a sincere apology and $100 cash. We had a horrible experience last night! We had a reservation for 6 guests at 7pm. We were seated promptly. It took about 20 minutes for our waitress to acknowledge us. We ordered wine & cocktails. We also asked for the calamari, bruschetta, and meatballs as appetizers. An hour later, the calamari showed up. It was horribly dehydrated and cold. Our two other apps showed up and were ok at best. We asked a guy walking around with an apron to please exchange our calamari for a warm and fresh batch. He never came back. Our waitress kept walking around ignoring us. We spent almost a week here and we have been impressed by the food, drinks, and service everywhere we have went. However, our experience tonight at this restaurant was not a pleasant one. We have a group of four 28-29 year old individuals and I strongly believe our service was not comparative of the other tables our waitress was serving with older and "higher class" people than us. She was short and not kind to us. This attitude was only worsened when we had an issue with one of our drinks. We value good cocktails and have traveled here with a good breathe of knowledge on them wanting to experience a good overall drink experience. Our drink was not good to the point that we could not even drink it. We kindly asked the waitress if we could possibly return it or get something else and were met with a very unkind response about how "we were still going to have to pay for it" with no apology. After that interaction we were barely served and met with cold exchanges of money before ushered out the door with no "thank you" or come again or even sorry for the mishap. In all honesty the food was really good but after that service and the drink we were served we will not consider coming back again. We went in with the expectations of having a nice last dinner in Kentucky and left feeling upset and angry that we were treated in an undeserving way. read more

We were in the area visiting some distilleries and this restaurant was highly rated, so we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, the food didn't come anywhere close to the hype. My wife and I both ordered the tenderloin medallions and although my wife ordered hers med-med well, it was cooked so much that it was dry. I ordered mine rare, and it was ok temperature wise, but the potatoes it was served on top of tasted like they were cooked the day before and were cold to boot. (My wife had the same problem) I also ordered a wedge salad and it had several areas of "rust" on the lettuce (no it wasn't the balsamic) that were off putting. At the price point they have positioned themselves, this is simply unacceptable. read more

I get it, good spots... even great spots have rough times. Saw nothing of that here tonite. Hunter was an attentive, knowledgeable, kind server for a group of out-of-towners on bourbon tour. Wasn't packed on a Tuesday evening but the view of the old capitol building all lit up and a well spaced crowd revealed nothing but joy. The "owner" threaten us and followed us to our car. Held us hostage. Refused to take a legitimate card provided by the restaurant. We provided a card for payment. The same card we called to ensure they accepted this card provided by the restaurant earlier. The restaurant refused to accept the card. We also called 911. We did pay after they refused to accept the card. Owner threatened physical harm and then followed us to our vehicle. The video clearly shows the owner cursing and stating physical harm. The owner bullied us for no reason. We paid. The "owner" refused to give his name. The manager even told the owner we wanted to reluctantly pay. Great food and service! We had 6 people and Jennifer was a great server. Everyone had great food, chicken parm, serafini pasta specialty, scallops and risotto (special), crab cakes, all outstanding.
