The good, the bad and the ugly. Location is great! Next to The Collection Mall and the 101, two great pluses. Maintenance is excellent. Administration keeps the surrounding areas in tip top conditions. Pretty landscaping. Well maintained pool area, exercise room and bowling alley. When we had issues in the apartment, which weren't often, issues were taken care of promptly. Admin would submit the order and engineering would take care of the problem in a timely fashion. Our apartment was small but comfortable and well designed. Administration personnel were courteous and helpful in general but on different occasions we did have staff members that could have been better trained. Towards the beginning of signing the rental contract we had to follow up multiple times with a SM so we could get the measurements of the apartment pre move-in . That was annoying as we wanted to know which pieces of furniture we could sell in our old location if they didn't fit in our new apartment. Admin could have been more specific in other areas in relation to submitting rental documentation in regards to the address to be used where they receive such documents. I drove 8 hours with my car packed with stuff, a cat and a dog trying to make it before office close time so I could get apartment key and move in. To my unpleasant surprise, SM said they had not received the documentation which we had sent a week before. SM was not very sympathetic but she came through at the end. The ugly- administration is strict with their prompt payment policies and that's okay. However, towards the end of our contract SM made a $600 over charge for the month of May. The charge was noticed May 6th. We pointed it out to admin and they said they could not pay us back the over charge until we completed our move out process that was scheduled for the end of the month. They said they would return the money after apartment inspection with the security deposit. I found this action to be unacceptable and potentially illegal. We did not get our remaining security deposit plus the overcharge until July 10/11. That's more than a month and a half after we had left! Make sure you read the contract well! When our 1 year contract was coming to an end we renewed for 3 months. Per contract renters are supposed to give them a 60 day notification of departure. I gave my notice at 30 days. Per contract they'll push your contract forward if you don't give notification with their contract policy timeline . So basically, I was responsible for rent on an additional 30 days due to my late notification of departure. Ridiculous! Considering that we were in a 3 month renewal contract. I wanted to strangle them . That's all folks! read more

By far worst living experience I've ever had. Walls, ceilings, doors block very little sound. Unit upstairs has a large dog that's always running around, barking, howling at any given time of day especially after quiet hours. Another neighbor has a garage next to the back entrance and is regularly on their phone and I hear the whole conversation. Management takes forever to respond to emails if ever. I always need to send some follow up emails and they may not even respond to those either. Office staff not helpful at all for lease questions so weeks or months go by and I'm getting screwed. Layout and design of the whole complex is terrible. Blind spots everywhere getting around a corner. Garbage bins always full or being rummaged thru by homeless people and the residents get blamed or charged. The location and maintenance crew are the only good things about this place. read more

Don't move here! I would not recommend renting at Serenade Apartments due to their poor management and lack of transparency regarding security deposits. After moving out, I had my unit professionally cleaned and even took pictures as proof. I called the leasing office for two weeks straight to check on the status of my security deposit and was repeatedly told I would receive an email once the process was complete. Instead, a month later, I received a letter from a collection agency stating that I owed $200. When I called the leasing office again to dispute the charge, they claimed only the manager could explain the discrepancies. I called over 10 times, but the manager was never available. Eventually, I received a letter listing supposed damages to my unit--claims I can prove are false with my photos. Unfortunately, I had moved out of state, so I couldn't go in person to resolve the issue. I also emailed them but never received a response. The lack of communication and accountability from Serenade Apartments is beyond frustrating. If you're considering living here, be aware that getting your deposit back could be a struggle, even if you leave your unit in perfect condition. Parking also sucks! read more

The apartment complex surrounding area is very nice. I do not recommend moving here! Every month they charge a "utility bill" that varies every month. They will tell you due to "fees" from the city trash. In addition you have to pay for your own utility bills. The parking is terrible!! DO NOT MOVE HERE. This place is awful to live at to say the least. The fires alarms are pulled multiple times a month by outsiders at 3 AM and management does absolutely nothing about it. I called about the issue and they claimed they didn't it was even happening despite the alarm going off at 2 AM 4 times that week. They do not let you see your unit prior to moving in, I was told I would be getting all hardwood floors and come to find out on move in date all bedrooms have carpet. The units are pretty trashed on move in day and expect nothing to work. AC, Microwave, Washer and Dryer, all didn't work and our AC still has not been fixed even though we submitted a work order months ago. Overall, this place is absolutely terrible. I've been living here for 6 months and hate it, I stay elsewhere during the week just so i can get some sleep without being woken up at 3 AM by a screeching fire alarm. I can't bring my cat that I pay for every month because there's fleas everywhere & the fire alarm is so loud. Just save yourself the nightmare, and do not live here. So many things wrong with the way they manage this place. They add late fees before rent is even due. They charged us the wrong rent for the first 5 months. Every month we were in the office telling them they put the wrong number down again. They nickel and dime the heck out of you. They claim the CAM fee is included in rent then charge you extra fees every month. The main manager is rude af, the emails they send out are so grammatically incorrect it's comical. The emails they would send regarding residents incurring a fee if they didn't pick up after their dogs, the complex being non-smoking, and residents leaving trash in the hallway was like screaming into a void. Didn't do shit. We wanted to stay over a year but dealing with them was incredibly difficult and raising the rent over $250 after one year was the cherry on top. These were marketed as smoke free and when I toured I was assured they fine anyone who is smoking on the property. Both of these are a lie even before covid. I was told nothing could be done if the resident is smoking in their unit even though the lease states there is no smoking. My apartment was full of tobacco smoke and incense 24/7 even though I was assured my vents were not connected to anyone else. There are cigarette butts all over the property. The property is overrun with homeless people going through the dumpsters looking for recycling. There were multiple car breakins as well as some of the garages were broken into. Management will never tell you about any crimes that happen. My TV stand was stolen from the moving truck when I moved out. The traffic noise is very loud and several times a week the fire department will drive by full sirens because a resident of the retirement community down the street needs help or a fire has been started in the river bottom. The fire alarm in your building will go off at least once a month and there is no fire. Last time before I moved it took the fire department 15 minutes to get there with that super loud alarm going the entire time. The office staff will not help you with anything so don't bother asking. The maintenance staff is excellent and always fixed things within 48 hours. Document everything when you move out because they will charge you for every tiny thing as well as charge you for things you provided receipts for. It took almost three months to get my remaining deposit back. There is no parking anywhere so if you have guests or more than one car, good luck. Where do I start. Let's start with poor management. Every year you live there you are suppose to get written statement saying if you are going to renew another year or go on month to month and if there will be a rent increase. This year we never got that and our rent was increased without our knowledge. Imagine getting a letter on your door to pay within 3 days or vacate when you always pay your rent on time. When it was brought to the attention of the office staff they said yes it showed that the written statement was never sent to me properly and that they would let the property manager Johanna know. After days of not hearing back, I tried to call and get an update. So hard to get someone on the phone and when you do they are not helpful. Finally property manager gets back to me that they messed up by not let us know about a rent increase (which is illegal if you don't give your tenant 30 day written notice) but that there is nothing she can do. A "luxury apartment" wouldn't make this mistake in the first place and if it did they would professionally remedy the situation. In this case it just seemed like they wanted to sweep their mistakes under the rug. The other things about the apartment: people constantly rummaging through the trash and leaving a mess, not being able to check the mail properly for 3 months, dog peeing in our vehicle from too balcony, neighbors smoking on balcony that's wafting into our child's room, homeless person breaking into a sleeping in neighbors car and pool constantly being closed. Honestly these could have all been forgiven if the office staff took pride and ethics in their work and cared about their tenants. It's actually quite sad. read more

Honestly so glad I'm not moving in here. First they quote me on an apartment that wouldn't be available on my move in date. They only hold apartments 2 weeks but said it would be held with a deposit for when we wanted to move in which would have been 4 weeks. They had claimed it was a system error when the leasing agent was the one to change the dates. Then they kept my deposit and told me they were going to put me on the waiting list. They in fact did not, so I called to cancel it and get my deposit back. This was 8/8, it is now 8/16 and I was told by Jaiden and Joana and another agent that I would receive an email confirmation when my refund would be sent from corporate and still nothing. I talked to Joana again and she was soooo rude telling me she didn't say she was going to send an email confirmation. She then informed me my refund should be in the mail already. I wanted a confirmation to confirm my application fee was also reimbursed as they didn't screen my application because there wasn't even an available apartment. She said she had to contact corporate to find out. Fine, I asked when I would hear back as I've been waiting over a week and the mail will take 4-6 weeks. (It took 4-6 seconds for them to take my $500 and some deposit tho) Horrible customer service like come on people just do your job, if it were your money it would be handled right away. MAJOR RED FLAG, I've already dealt with horrible apartment leasing agents and now them, I will gladly look elsewhere as there fees do not outweigh the basic "luxury" living. read more

I have lived here for about 3 years and this place is the last thing for luxury living. About 2 years ago they sent an email mentioning their bid wars for the cheapest mailboxes... here we are now going on 2 months with no access to our mail boxes because of theft, we have to pick up our mail from USPS. I guess its from purchasing the cheapest mailboxes. There is trash and dog poop everywhere throughout the grass, I blame the residents not maintenance. The stairs are dirty, they only wash them for apartment showings. They use one and overwork the one maintenance person there. There are homeless people that come to the grounds late at night and do drugs. I've seen non-tenants sleeping in the pool in the pool area around 3AM. Our neighbors have actual piles of garbage bags sitting on their balcony along with dog feces, we have not been able to open our windows since August of 22 because of the horrid smell, they play their tv loud, we can feel it vibrate the room still management has done nothing. We have a new apartment manger that no-one told us about or even mentioned. The treadmils in the gym are broken, its been about 2 months. There is no luxury living here. It right by the collection, the same collection that just had a fatal stabbing that lead to 19 YO death on 3/18/23. You are basically paying for access to the collection because this place is not luxury. They have an arcade and bowling room that close at 5PM or whenever the office is closed so, thats a joke and waste of money. This place is a joke and overly expensive "two coast living" property management should be ashamed! They charge you 3,500 for a two bedroom to renew your lease then list the same apartment months later for 2500! Even if you told me you were looking to live somewhere that makes you miserable.. I STILL would suggest not living here. Please do not move in here. I was SO excited to move in. The second I signed the lease, the management had a change in attitude, they didn't care anymore, they are so rude (Except for George). I am so upset with myself for signing this lease. Biggest mistake I've made in YEARS. I moved in because of the 48 hour guarantee turnaround for repairs. Well, that's a HUGE lie. I had a leak that ruined the ceiling in our bedroom, these people took 3 weeks to fix it. I reminded them 3 different times (once a week) that it was not fixed. There is a universal fire alarm that will go off at any time including the night. My neighbor had to get the ear cuffs that you use when you go shooting because he cannot handle the noise. It's extremely loud and I've had to get a hotel overnight because it took 4 hours to stop. They will blame EVERYTHING on you and say "it's in the lease agreement" if you have a question or concern. If you move in, you either will have to hire legal help or have to just allow these people to treat you this way. Don't live this way. Katie is the manager and her inability to assist situations actually makes me laugh. She will literally sit on the phone and argue with you and not politely. Teri is also a manager. If I could rate this zero Stars I would. We stayed here for a full year unfortunately. The facility is nice except every weekend they allow outside people to come and take over the pool making a complete mess and disaster of the area. There is no enforcement of the policies. At every opportunity the management seems to think it is a good idea to rip people off. When we moved in we let them know the carpets were not fresh and the paint had many visible touch ups and problems. We had to fight them just to get them to make the apartment presentable. When we moved out they charged us to clean the carpet that was never clean in the first place. The employees seem to be trained to rip people off. When we moved out they charged us a $65 fee because we turned the water off the day we moved out. The lease was still valid for 2 days so they charged us a fee even though there was no water bill. When I paid the bill they charge a $92 fee in order to pay the bill. I highly recommend that you avoid this apartment building like the plague. read more

When looking for apartments, first impressions count. We have been looking for something very specific in apartments and there are only two or three places in the area that fit our criteria. All of them are a little on the expensive side so I usually expect a bit more in guest service. We went here on a Sunday afternoon. There was a huge "Welcome Center" with plush couches and decorations with only one thing missing, someone to help us. There was sign indicating that they were "out showing" and they would be back soon. We waited no lie almost 45 minutes. I don't know what could take 45 minutes to show, but I can tell you this will not be a place we will be living. As to the other reviews I can tell you while I was there I walked around the pool area and there was tons of little unsupervised kids running around screaming, climbing all over the nice pool furniture and ruining the environment. The whole place is very nicely located right across from the new Target in Oxnard, but the whole experience makes for a total pass. :0) read more

I believe it was built in 2009. + I'm a sucker for plants, the landscaping here is pretty neat. + I moved here October of last year, & I scored a cool special ($99 deposit). However, the rent here is still high($1329) for how small the apartments are (mine is the Alto model @ 798 sq feet) + 24 hr gym with yoga room. Towels are provided. + Stacked washer/dryer in unit. + Air conditioning is central air & works lovely CONS - They are HORRENDOUS on their late fee policy!!! I was late twice, & they tack on 10% of your rent, which made the late fee $123. They will NOT work with you when it comes to your money. For example, I offered them my rent of $1329 & I told them I didn't have enough to cover the late fee. They would not accept my payment of $1329 & said to have the full amount (including the late fee) asap or else they tack on an additional $500 for attorney's. Corporations will not work with you! - White appliances, not my favorite... - Electric stove, which I don't prefer. - The unit tends to not have good insulation as the unit heats up quickly & the air conditioning goes on & off quite often UPDATE: The property is lovely - who doesn't love new construction, washer/dryer in your unit, the convenience of the location? However, my rating is going from 4 to 2 stars because of the management. They are very rude, and do not care. They are lazy. I once asked to put in a work order (my dishwasher hasn't been working for 2 months), and they were very rude about it. Prior to coming in there & speaking with them in person, I CALLED, and they said they will put in the order, but never was done, hence me having to go in there in person to talk to them. By the way, if you have anything broken, expect a month delay, I feel like maintenance only comes once a week, usually on a Monday is when they came to my place. Also, I might add it took multiple attempts with maintence (4) to get the dishwasher up & running again. I lived here after moving to Oxnard for work. I took over a lease so I can't speak as much to the move in process. I lived here from Summer 2015 to Spring 2016 and during that time didn't have any major issues. (Only issue was a flimsy toilet seat lid that broke under the weight of a small someone sitting on it. Though it was fixed quickly and easily by maintenance.) Received $600 back on my security deposit after move out. Though I will say that being right across from other people's apartments resulted in the occasional awkward eye contact and there were a few noisy people, but overall not too bad a place. I did notice upon moving out that there seemed to be a lot of construction happening in the lot across the street. Not sure what that's meant to be, but I can say that it seems there will be a lot more businesses and people coming in within the next few years. read more

They raised our rent by 10% after our first lease and tried again after our second. This happened while they remodeled the amenities meaning we were without pool and gym during this time. Paying more for less sucks. Hot water takes ages to hit the faucets. It took 15 gallons before our shower was warm enough. Expect a high water bill! Remodeled units look nice, but the new floors make the noise from the neighbors very loud. Our bedroom shared a wall with the neighbors dining room. We could hear footsteps and chairs moving late at night and early in the morning. Kept half our deposit and haven't supplied an itemized list as to why. Just two categories, industrial and paint. Charged us for paint even though the paint was poor when we moved in. Parking is terrible. Street parking is tough to get so friends risk parking at the collection and possibly getting towed. Freeway and road noise is pretty bad too. Only redeeming quality is he staff and proximity to the collection. UPDATE: I took them to court for our deposit (minus agreed upon cleaning fee) and they ended up settling before we saw the judge. Keep records and photos as evidence before you move in and after you move out. Document everything! read more

That said, I recently sent this message to the BBB: Serenade at Riverpark corporate office cashed my 2021 benefit check from CA Rent Relief on 08/08/2022. I've called the Property Manager/office numerous times to try to find out when I would be reimbursed (I did not owe any back rent or fees.) I moved out of the complex by August 8 and per the manager I had totally paid all fees and rents due. She verified the amount due me with myself and the corporate office statement, and the last time we spoke (on October 26) said cutting and sending my check would take 3-4 weeks. It's been 5 weeks and I'm still waiting. I would appreciate it if you could do something to help me collect my Covid Rent Relief payment! It's been almost 4 months since the check was cashed, so I feel the delay makes no sense. Plus, the corporate office apparently never even let the manager at my complex know that funds meant for me had been sent via a check in my name, and that the funds were available since Aug 8. If I could give this place Zero Stars, I would. This is marketed as a luxury community, and it is anything but that. If you walk around the community you will have to dodge dog poop frequently & when I complained about this and suggested maybe a mass-email reminding folks to clean up after their dogs, it seemed to go entirely ignored. They do not care. They do not enforce the smoke free community rules. In fact, our downstairs neighbor's cigarette smoke constantly wafts up into our apartment and requires us to have to shut all the windows and doors. Again, complain and nothing happens. Packages are constantly being stolen from our building. There is nothing Luxury about the apartment itself, outside of Laminate "Wood-looking" Flooring and Nice Countertops in the kitchen. In fact, you will be SUPREMELY fooled by the Model units they show you compared to the actual unit you will rent. Our Unit gets ZERO Light & feels dark and gloomy 24/7, the hallways in between units are constantly filthy, not being upkept regularly. The Washer and Dryers provided are Old and INSANELY Loud. Do you need hot water, cool, you're going to want to turn your faucets on about 5 minutes before you need it because it takes FOREVER to get hot. If you're a light sleeper, forget it. The Traffic outside is so loud & there is always racing going on late at night on the weekends. it's so unpleasant. Dealing with the staff has been a nightmare. They are never open on time & the Manager that you conveniently always need to deal with because the other staff are incapable of handling issues, she's always gone early. If you call, you're most likely routed to a call center because the staff are never in the office. Also beware if it looks like an ok place to park, it's probably not and they'll have your car towed. and there is HARDLY a place to park around the building unless you pay an extra $$$ for a parking spot/garage and even those are limited. we often have to park two blocks away. Beware. For the price & what you get here, I'd refer you to ANYWHERE Else. I would never in a million years rent here again. read more

BEWARE! My wife and I moved in to this complex two years ago and we thought we were really going to be moving up in life. I mean this was "luxury living" right? WRONG! Sure the property is has lush green grass, rows of pretty trees lining the pathways throughout. Once you start living here it starts to become quite clear why there are so many one star reviews. First off, when we first signed our lease we were treated like royalty and shown every amenity they offered which was appealing and got us excited to sign. The staff seemed so friendly and accommodating or so we thought. As soon as the pen hit the paper we soon realized they could care less. We had a neighbor who lived above us that was a DJ or so he thought. All we would hear is one repeated beat played over and over for hours while hoards of obnoxious kids came to dance the night away on paper thin flooring. This would go on sometimes until 6am the next day so we decided to call the fancy "courtesy patrol" this fine establishment offers. WHAT A JOKE! They never showed up and after multiple follow up calls we find out that they aren't even located in the area. Let's talk about this fine establishments luxurious staff members. Surely they would be understanding and accommodating to our problems because we pay a hefty $2200 a month for a 1 bedroom. WRONG AGAIN! These people couldn't be less interested in anything you have to say and try to pass you along to someone else without answering your questions or concerns with anything. They take every opportunity to swindle you out of your money and hit you with misc fee's and charges. Every apartment we have moved from we cleaned ourselves and we did a really good job because we have always wanted our deposit back. We came to find out even after living in this apartment for two years, a VERY deep cleaning, giving the 60 day notice and having all our keys at the ready we were told a professional cleaner needs to be the one who cleans the apartment. A few weeks later we received their bogus bill with $120 cleaning fee, an additional $90 cleaning fee a new $75 charge for longboard key (WTF is that) which we were never given and $80 in wall painting. We left this apartment better than when we moved in and they still steal your money. How about parking. Well, unless you enjoy destruction derby everyday this will be your nightmare. You are assigned one reserved spot and the rest is on the street. If for a miracle you are able to find a spot after 5 PM on a weekday when you return from work make sure to have pool noodles at the ready for your bumper. You will notice all sorts of dings, scraps, scratches and paint showing up on your car from all the other happy residents of the complex as they battle their way into that last spot behind you. I hope you didn't just wash that car of yours. The entire perimeter of this complex has irrigation that loves to water the streets and your car as well as deposit sap from those finely chosen trees. There isn't enough muscle in your arms to stop this.. Don't be fooled by all the pretty lights they put up, or the green landscape, or the stupid bowling alley only open M-F while you are at work, or the overcrowded pool with screaming children from other surrounding neighborhoods, or the "river rats" shuffling your garbage in search of a bottle and the list goes on and on.. I could keep going on with the smells, the noise, crime, the shadiness of their business practices but my fingers hurt. One piece of advice; Listen to the reviews. Do not move here. I will first start off by the best thing about living here and it has been how awesome the maintenance team is.. Especially Rafael. Anytime I have ever had an issue with our apartment he has been awesome and is super friendly. Someone that you feel comfortable having in your apartment if for whatever reason you can't be there at the time he needs to come in. The units are also nice and in my opinion spacious. I have never had any issues with any type of insects, rodents etc. Now for the negatives; First and foremost, the WORST thing about the complex is the people that work in the leasing office. If you need anything in a timely manner, do yourself a favor and DO NOT email, DO NOT call, walk yourself to the leasing office. Even then, you may not even get the assistance you are looking for. I have screen shots of multiple emails and calls that have gone without answer after a week + time. Not emails regarding frivolous stuff, emails and calls in regard to MY LEASE RENEWAL.. which has been the main reason I have had to contact them since we have lived what would have been going on 4 years here. I have heard every excuse in the book as to why they couldn't contact me back.. Even was told by Katie one time that if we don't include our unit number in the subject line, she doesn't respond to those emails and doesn't know who those tenants are.. what? All of the information needed was in the actual email. Once we were told by a staff member that Tere wasn't going to be in the office that day. We live right in front of the leasing office and drive by and who do we see? Tere! Cool... we love a liar. ALWAYS follow up with an email and get a copy of every document so you have a nice paper trail should you need it down the line. They will raise your rent every year more than 10%.. the prices that apply to new tenants do not apply to tenants who have lived there for years COMPLAINT free and who continuously pay their rent on time. So basically someone who is new to the place, will get a smoking rate simply to get them in the door, and you, a remarkable tenant, will be paying more than that new person for the SAME apartment. They also by LAW are not allowed to raise your rent over 10% for the years of 2018 and 2019 due to the recent wildfires in Ventura County. So for all of you current tenants who are facing a 10% increase, do your research and inform them of what they should already know, the law. This year, I had to contact the leasing office because I had still not received my renewal and my lease was going to be ending in a little more than two months. I call the leasing office to remind them and then get the notice on my door the same day. Surprise, they are trying to raise our rent by $241! Which is more than a 10% increase. Once again. Keep in mind this unit is the "classic style" which means it has none of the new renovations. And since I had to remind them to give me my lease renewal and they were late providing it, I only had 15 days to respond to them to make a decision of whether or not we wanted to renew or else it would go up to an even higher rate. Needless to say we are not renewing. We found another complex in the area that is literally brand new and is less than what they are trying to charge us here. You like the amenities? Great! Just know you are paying for them. It is a separate fee that is tacked onto your base rent! You want a garage because the parking is absolutely terrible? Cool! you are paying for that too. Everything here is an extra fee. There are constantly homeless people from the river bottom roaming through the complex. I work super early mornings and my garage is located across from a trash dumpster and have to have my boyfriend walk me out every single morning to my garage because of scary incidents I have encountered with the homeless people digging through the trash. We have had our garage broken into and a bunch of tools stolen. If you are interested in living in Riverpark, go to the Mosaics. They are the only complex that is gated and you won't be confronted by homeless people. Their rates are also lower and they have BETTER amenities minus the stupid bowling alley (that you can only use during business hours, lol what is the point?) Our lease will be up in a little bit and I couldn't be happier to be leaving solely based on the lack of service and the leasing office's inability do even 1/4 of their job. I am anticipating the move out because I just know it is going to be an entire ordeal and I am sure they will try and nickel and dime us like everyone else stated in the reviews. I thank GOD I am not naive and know my rights as a tenant and work in the legal field. DO NOT SUBMIT AN APPLICATION!!! I am currently being scammed by this corporate property management company and all I've done is submit an application. I submitted an application, but decided to go with another property after reading the terrible reviews for the property online. When I submitted the application, they charged me $362(!!!!) instead of the $49 application fee and are now refusing to refund the amount. The staff seemed nice and trustworthy, but do not listen to their advisement. They don't know what they are talking about. I'm floored at the way these people do business - DO NOT TRUST THEM. My husband and I leased an apartment here for one year because the complex is so beautiful. We believed it was located in such a convenient, nice, and quiet neighborhood and were also excited about all the amenities! Too bad we had a horrible experience! First off, we had one reserved parking spot and had to find parking on the street before 5 for our other car, otherwise there was no chance of finding anything close. There was no point of having a reserved spot because there was ALWAYS someone parked in my spot. Imagine coming back home late at night around 11pm after my night classes to someone parked in my spot and no other parking space available on the street EVERY SINGLE WEEK!! The tow truck usually took anywhere from 2-4 hours to show up, I remember the first time that happened I had to park in front of the office while I also waited for the tow truck to arrive so that I could park in my spot. Well how about they didn't tow the car that was in my spot and towed mine instead without even letting me know that they had arrived. I was not about to stay in my car waiting for them for at least 2 hours or more at 11pm! Secondly, there are very rude, racist, and judgmental tenants there that think they own the amenities and believe they have the right to not allow u to use them! Thirdly, the neighbors there were really loud so we were not able to rest well. The neighbors upstairs had a dog and toddler who were ALWAYS running and dragging the furniture all over the house! They would also start vacuuming at like 3am right above our room. It was soo annoying, but guess what! Management does not care! The neighbors downstairs would always have parties with loud music until 6am! Beware of thieves! During the holidays I had some packages delivered to my apartment just to find out that the front neighbor stole them!!! I had to tell them I was taking a police officer in order to get my things back! Fourthly, it's great that we had a nice pool and jacuzzi areas;however, the jacuzzi was usually filthy or out of service for weeks. Finally, before I moved out I made sure to impeccably clean my apartment and left it better than how they gave it to me. I was still charged over $100 for a cleaning fee and it literally took them 2 months to return some of my deposit, when they had said it would only take 21 days! I called mostly every day to check the status of my check and left messages, but no one ever cared to return my call! In my opinion, $2300 is not worth all of the bullshit I just mentioned. They only care about taking your money and were trying to increase our rent $1000 if we decided to stay! That is absolutely ridiculous!!!! OK place to live, but get ready to pay exorbitant fines for just about everything. Late rent, $250, car tow $360. I forgot to return two keys at end of lease and was charged $50, even though I returned them via mail. The complex is three stories tall, yet has no elevator or any accommodation for disabled persons to reach the upper floors. Have fun moving your king size mattress or sofa in this complex. Homeless people regularly rummage through the dumpsters and packages get stolen from apartment entrances. As I moved in, someone stole one of the mover's dollies. The mailboxes were regularly broken into. I was once confronted by a homeless woman in the building who seemed to want me to let her into my apartment. Due to pandemic restrictions, the gym and pool have limited access, yet they charge full price for the "amenities". Visitors have NO parking, and the streets are constantly packed. For a building built in a remote area, parking is at a premium somehow. They call it Luxury Living, but I beg to differ. read more

The leasing office staff are literally the worst, so beyond rude, and not helpful what so ever. I'm giving Serenade a generous three stars. The grounds are nice and kept up neatly. The gym and pool are nice...but read the lease because you are charged a membership fee, it's not included. The maintenance guys are pretty good too and quick to respond. Your water bill will be expensive. They'll tell you they can't control the rate the city set for water but it's because you have to let your water run 10 minutes before it gets warm every time you use it. The apartments are nice but I wouldn't go as far as saying, "luxurious". The appliances are still dated and the bathroom fixtures are dated as well. You'll have frequent run-ins with the homeless digging through your dumpster. Your car will get broken into. They have an on-site security guard but the person never answers the phone. Expect your rent to increase by a few hundred dollars a month with it's time to renew your lease. Your legitimate complaints (i.e. noise) will be ignored. I submitted several complaints and called office about same neighbor/noise for almost a year and I was being told, "I have contacted her and informed her this will be her last warning." I don't know how many "last warnings" they give but it seemed like they give a lot. I finally had to contact their corporate office before they'd do anything. Also, when it comes time to do your move out inspection I highly suggest doing it with the maintenance person and the property manager. The property manager will only do walk through inspections during the week apparently. We didn't know this so we did it with an employee from the office on a weekend. They noted, "touch up paint" but when we received our statement the property manager said it needed an overall paint job. We were surprised seeing this in our statement. There is also A LOT of turnover in the office that it's frustrating trying to talk to someone. You're told different things depending on who you talk to and it seems they don't know what they're doing. I get that the residents are probably complaining a lot to the staff but if their headquarters could keep employees longer than 6 months and train them, I think it'd help residents' frustration tremendously. If someone was interested in renting, I'd suggest walking the exterior of the complex. Walk all the way around then ask the office how they handle people who live like slobs and keep trash on their patio...that could end up being your neighbor. Ask the office how they handle complaints in general. Then take some walks through the complex and talk to people that live there. Tell them you're interested and ask what they like and don't like about it. read more

Lived here for about 3 months while waiting for our home to get built in Riverpark. Clean, modern apartments and pretty quiet for a large apartment complex. Also most of the units have their own washer and dryer. The reason for the low rating is the parking. I had an assigned spot, however someone else was always parked in my spot. When I called management about it, they said they couldn't do anything and they couldn't call the tow company for just one car! My husband always had a hard time trying to find street parking. Had a terrible time moving out! I paid everything in full, however a few months later they tried to send me to collections for $7000!!! Good thing I had all my paperwork to show that I owed them nothing! Even the collections agency lady said this apartment complex was sending everyone to collections for large obscene amounts that didn't make any sense. Great looking apartments but awful management. Be sure to keep all of your paperwork. read more
