I LOVE my maintenance here especially Fidel today. My washer was not working correctly. I put in a work order, I passed by him on my way to run errands. He said he was really busy and would try to get to me today but maybe tomorrow. I said it was fine either way but , if possible today would be great, it was my day off and I had a lot of laundry. Despite his heavy load, he made me his last call to make sure my washer was fixed. I really appreciate Mark's whole team here at Amli. I am a leasing consultant at another luxury apartment, but really am glad I live here for 6 plus years. It's great here! Amenities, the apartment itself and maintenance rocks! Stay far away from this place! every appliance breaks all the time and maintenance takes forever to come fix it. we haven't been able to use our first shower because water keeps leaking from the air conditioner into it. so we have to share a shower with our small kids. also the sink backed up and left us with no dishes for our family. now our washer is broken and no one has come for 3 days. this is the absolute worst complex I have ever experience. run!!! Edit: actually the shower has been unusable since February when we moved in. And no one has come to fix it since our latest work order request a couple days ago. We have made a total of 4 work order requests for the shower and none fixed the issue. Again, we're being charged way too much for what we're getting here. read more

Update: I tried calling and emailed back the concerns I had with my move out costs, however nothing. As during their walk through in my move out inspection I asked if there was anything alarming I needed to be aware, and I was informed nothing. This would also be the 2nd walk though as the first time I was going to transfer my units but ended up leaving after my leased ended. I only lived here for a year and I owe! I'm not at all a messy lady and like to keep my things tidy and clean. Just disappointed on this experience at the end. read more

We have lived here for over 5 years and the complex is beautiful. Parking is horrible, which the leasing office is aware of as they mention in the emails. It would be nice if dog owners consistently picked up their dogs, as I have stepped in dog poop and seen it throughout the complex. I guess the "doggy DNA" was not successful. It is supposed to be a non smoking apartment complex, lol and part of the reason why we chose to live here is because I am allergic to tobacco. Neighboring tenants and construction workers have smoked cigarettes, cigars, and weed throughout our time here. Barking dogs are a common thing as well. Tenants are only allowed one person at the pool, yet there was a wedding reception there in the past few months. I guess the "pool monitor" didn't work out either. These are all issues that the leasing office is aware of. Maintenance has always addressed requests quickly, however we recently had a major issue in November 2021. During construction of a fire pit, my husband returned home to find a construction truck parked next to his truck, and concrete all over the side of his truck. He immediately went into the leasing office and Cayla called the head maintenance worker, who told him to go get a car wash. Mark, the manager, told him it would be okay and also told him to get a car wash. They paid for a car wash, but told him to go through insurance for the scratches that were caused from the concrete (where he would have to pay the deductible). My husband never received a response from corporate regarding this issue. The next day, he parked his truck in such a way that the inconsiderate construction workers would not park next to him and further damage his truck. He received a call from the leasing office that he needed to move his truck and that it was subject to tow. I find this unbelievable as the leasing office knew how upset he was due to the damage on his truck. Maintenance and leasing office workers frequently park their golf carts in the handicap and tenant parking spots. Parking in handicap is against the law and inconsiderate to individuals with disabilities and their caregivers. In addition, a truck always parks in the blue striped loading zone, which is for individuals in a wheelchair to get in and out of their vehicle. How is that not subject to tow since it is disregarding The American Disability Act? I also received a notice to tow. I do not place the parking permit on my window as it has melted to my window in the past. I have a busy life and have occasionally forgotten to make sure that it is showing. The last notice said I was subject to tow, so I reached out to the leasing office, Cayla reiterated that my car was subject to tow. I responded by saying "I find it very interesting that my car is subject to tow for forgetting to make a parking permit visible a handful of times in my 4-5 years here. I pay to park and live here and would think that there would be an alternative to my car being towed at my place of residence." I didn't receive a response for 2 days so I sent a follow up message. Then she was able to call Archon Security and handle things. Overall, beautiful complex, but inconsiderate tenants and leasing office and maintenance workers are a deal breaker. We wish AMLI would have handled the major issue regarding the construction workers more professionally. Our 5 years living here are done. read more

Office staff are very sweet but things here are not really they great first of all 1,000 dollar deposit and 3x rent.we are moderate income earners and cannot get a unit do to me being disabled and needing a ground floor they do not care and will not provide a ground floor unit. I am appalled that the city of Camarillo and AMLI can't provide hosting for physically disabled individuals I feel discriminated and will not ever rent from here! read more

We've been at Amli for a few months now. Although covid is in full force and the gym is under renovation, we are very happy with how the property is managed. We moved from across the country and all of the office staff were very helpful before, during, and after our move. The outdoor areas are always immaculate and for the most part all of the tenants are responsible pet owners. You'll see the same people not pick up after their dogs but other than that, it's a respectful, quiet, and safe community. Amli is close to some gorgeous parks, grocery stores, gas stations and the Camarillo outlet mall. If you're military it's very close to Pt. Mugu. read more

Alberto, the service professional, is amazing. Very professional and did an excellent job taking care of some service requests that we had put in. He took his time to do a good job and didn't rush through. Overall, we are very happy with his work. Everyone on the AMLI Spanish Hills team, Cayla, Ryan & Albert are very professional and are just all around great people. Whenever our paths cross both inside & outside their office, say when I'm on my way to work or if I'm picking up groceries, they ALWAYS acknowledge me. My point being that they make you feel welcome and they genuinely care. Another thing that I really appreciate about AMLI is that they have food trucks over just about every month which is nice. **Update*** Parking on the public street has gotten much worse. The neighboring complex also utilized the street parking and many of the vehicles parked on the street are "extra" vehicles so they don't move for months at a time. No more guest passes due to tenant abuse of them so your guests must park on the street. Good luck with that. Pet waste has reduced considerably. Still no trash cans located along the green belts but at least tenants are being more considerate and cleaning up. Trash and such in the common walkways has gotten worse. I don't really care to walk past my neighbors trash and water jugs to get to my apartment but since the management doesn't perform any spot checks around the complex it won't change. Families using the pool allow young diapered and or non potty trained children to swim. The one and only time I attempted to use the pool (with a guest nonetheless) there was feces floating. -------------------- Not exactly what I would expect for the price. Pros: New Construction so you aren't the 100th tenant in a unit. Freeway close, easy on and off the 101. Esthetics are top notch. Lots of light fixtures so if you don't own a lamp it's all good. Pretty well sound proof. If all your doors and windows are closed you won't really hear your neighbors much at all. Cons: No assigned parking. If your unit doesn't have a garage you park on the street or in the first come first served lots. The parking lots are not conveniently located to the building entrances. Neighboring apt complex tenants use these spaces too. No exterior trash cans so pet owners tend to leave their pet waste in the green belts. Walking to/from your car in the morning before sunrise or after sunset carry a flashlight and watch out for the pet waste. All units have auto closing fronts doors so get very used to slamming doors. You can close your door softly but most don't consider their neighbors and let them slam. Doors slam so hard it rattles the walls and floors. Gotta love that neighbor who comes in and out 3 or 4 times in an hour. Bathroom light is on an auto off timer so make sure to turn on both lights or you'll be showering in the dark. Bathrooms have humidity fans that seem to turn on every hour but won't turn on automatically when you are showering. Interior design lacks functionality. Kitchen cupboards are very narrow but deep. Bathroom vanity lacks drawers and there is not a medicine cabinet. Faucets are placed far back on the sinks so when you wash a dish or your hands water goes everywhere. Light switch for main kitchen lights are by the front door and not in the kitchen. Pantry door in bathroom overlaps with the main bathroom door. There are various other things like this that make the interior functionality very frustrating. The area seems to have a bit of a crime issue that appears to be getting worse. Garages being broken into, cars being vandalized, property being stolen from ground floor patios etc. Lots of barking dogs. Residents leave windows open and their dogs just bark and bark and bark for hours, day and night. Patios have doors and not sliders so there are no screens to keep flying insects out if you want to leave the door open to allow for better airflow on nice days. Trash dumpsters are not convenient to all units. Neighbors will leave bags of trash outside their front door. Normally this isn't too bad but you get those folks who leave stinky rotting stuff out there so it drains onto the concrete leaving a stain and smelling up the hallway. All in all if you want something modern and freeway close this is the only game in town. read more

My wife and I looked at about 8 different communities and this one was our top choice. There was a bit of an issue in which the apartment we applied and were approved for became unavailable due to current tenant extending his/her stay. We were bummed. Long story short, the property manager stepped him and gave us the option to move in to a larger unit and honored the same price we were previously quoted. Keep in mind that the units at this time were going for $200-300 more. He also gave us the option to move-into a different unit of our liking (free of charge) anytime within our lease. My point is that they are accommodating and personable. Something you do not see a lot these days. Their staff and community is a breath of fresh air. We look forward to our move-in. The landscaping here is really nice...lots of trees and flowers and greenery. They keep the grounds very clean which i appreciate. I rarely feel the need to go elsewhere to walk my dogs. So far, we've enjoyed living at these apartments. What you spend is what you get. Remember that always. It goes for apartment complexes too. We have all the latest in apartment technology. Our electric bill averages $30 per month, even though air conditioning is always running. We have beautiful landscaping and great amenities. If you've hopped from apartment complex to apartment complex, you know that management will make or break a great experience. There's a reason the recent comments about management have been positive for this place. They are professional, thorough and timely. A great apartment management team is one that isn't noticed, but are there when needed. This place excels. There is one individual you want to talk to when you consider signing up for this apartment and that person is Jimmy Thompson. Believe me when I say, I wouldn't sign into a lease on the same day if it weren't for this guy. He wasn't a "car salesman" that trapped me into a "great deal I'll never see again." He was a real person who cared about my situation and my life goals. If AMLI is not right for you, Jimmy would simply take a "No, thank you." Bit expensive for me, but I enjoy living here. I had little miscommunication when I first got here which was not handled right by management in my opinion, but I try to put that behind me. This place is always neat and organized. The pool area is wonderful! The gym is nice clean and machines are brand new, which I love love love. It is safe, I usually take long walks around the building after dark without any worry. I also enjoy the events they have once in a while. Any service requests have been completed quickly and nicely done. Juan is wonderful taking care of service requests around here. So, thank you Juan! In the leasing office Jessica is the best!!! She always handles any situation with love, compassion and commitment. Apartments and facilities are very nice. Albeit expensive starting around $2000 for a 1 bedroom and $2600 for a 2 but you do get what you pay for. There are more pros than cons, walk in closets, in apartment washer and dryers, gym, pool, business center and meeting room, balconies or patios, garages, etc. Their maintenance department is great and responds to fix things within 48 hours. They have BBQ areas throughout the complex and allow personal ones on your balcony. Location is very convenient to the freeway, Ralphs, Starbucks, target, etc. A few of the reasons I can't give 5 stars: The lack of a hot tub in the pool area is really a mystery given the competition of luxury apartments in the area and how nice the pool area is. They have plenty of space to add one and they should most definitely do so. The complex is dog friendly but there's dog poop everywhere from owners not picking up after their dogs. Not really the complexes fault but it does detract from the overall feel of the place. To AMLI's credit they have dog bags everywhere, a dog park, etc. That doesn't stop the owners however. Parking in spaces is restricted to those on the lease meaning your overnight guests have to park on the street. Depending on where you are in the complex that can be some serious distance plus there's not a ton of spots on the street. I know this policy recently changed in the past few years, but even the ability to issue a 2 day temporary guest pass a few times a year would have been a better solution to that issue than jumping off the deep end for visitors specifically. read more

I have had a really wonderful experience living here at Amli. I have lived here for about 8 months now. In the beginning, when I was apartment hunting, Cayla was so awesome and accommodating. She took a lot of time showing me multiple units and even let me revisit a few. This was during a bit of a rough patch in life and her kindness was so very appreciated. I personally have not lived in this complex but I do have a few friends who have lived here and I've spent enough time with them there to know that this is not a community I'd want to live in unless I was on the top floor, and even then it's iffy. The complex itself is beautiful as are the amenities! However, the amount of times I can hear their upstairs neighbors walking around, opening drawers, cabinets, and closets is obnoxious. We have stopped movies, and conversations countless times to wait for the noise to die down. I would think with a complex this new, noises from your neighbors would not be an issue, but it's clear that the focus was primarily aesthetic and not functionality. read more

The staff has helped adjust my rental rate. Initially, my rent was going up 17 %. I asked for an adjustment or I would have to move after only 9 months. Local management worked with corporate to offer a 15 % increase. I was still moving. Then the management offered a 2 month extension at my current rate which we accepted to give us more time to think about what we wanted to do going forward. I was just notified last week that my new lease would be a 5.5 % increase which was a lot more appealing than the previous offers. I appreciate the efforts of the Spanish Hills management. The initial increases were ridiculous but at least in the end it all works out. The only complaint that I have is parking. I would recommend not getting a building in close proximity to the office or pool if you want to park near your own building. The rest of the complex doesn't have the same parking issues. read more

This place is the bomb! I feel like I'm at a Courtyard by Marriott Hotel suite! The staff are very professional and supportive to all your needs. I picked it all the way from Savannah, GA and I'm glad I did. I'm in a 1 + 1 bedroom/bathroom Apt. on the ground level. Many dog lovers lease here, which is nice. They really support military tenants with discounts. I can see myself leasing for many years! Spanish hills is a fantastic complex that far exceeds the standard set by their competitors. While searching for apartments we looked at every high end complex in Camarillo and Oxnard and Spanish hills was by far the nicest, both inside the units and on the grounds. Their pool is fantastic! This was a great place when we moved in it was clean and maintained well. It's definitely not as well maintained with the gardening and clean up. Staircases and hallways have spider webs and are dirty. Earlier this week someone's dog pooped on the stairway and in the archway. I have called the office twice and sent an email and it's still there after a week with no call back or anything done about it. Disappointed about the cost of living here. First off, I want to say that there are a lot of positives about living here. It is clean, all staff is great and it's a great community to have a dog. However, I didn't see any reviews about noise before I moved in and it is now impacting my health due to a lack of sleep. These are newer apartments so I expected soundproofing to be pretty standard or better. I have never in my life had to deal with neighbors as loud as my current neighbor. I can hear every single thing my upstairs neighbor does and he wakes me up at all hours of the day and night with slamming door and drawers, etc. I have called the office many times and while everyone in the office has been kind and willing to call, the noise has never improved. It is so loud to the point where it shakes my walls so wearing earplugs doesn't even do anything. I have tried earplugs, a sound machine, an air purifier, fans... anything to drown it out and nothing will work. I know I'm not the only one with this problem after speaking to some of my neighbors. read more

Lovely complex but many issues during my stay. There is an ongoing ANT problem at the complex that continues to return. Also poor management and preference over certain tenants. Never have had an issue with an apartment complex in my past renting experience. I wouldn't recommend this complex for families with small children. I have a calm 5 year old child and I received numerous complaints the office would address from downstairs neighbor. It was not properly handled as children are obviously going to make some kind of noise. And every single time foot steps were heard a noise complaint was placed and I would receive a violation notice. Very stressful and extremely unwelcoming to live in a place where your side is never heard. Noise complaints were also received for usage of shower or laundry machine in the evenings. Security was called to my door to ask to refrain from laundry or address the water noise. No one should be harassed in regards to bathing, child, or laundry noises. In especially receiving threatening noise violation noticies. I was completely fed up and extremely frustrated with the situation therefore placed my 60 day notice. Within 2 weeks tried to withdraw notice and management advise the apartment had already been rented out and I was being asked to vacate. Again not family friendly, the only reason I was going to continue to stay is to finish out the school year and avoid the move. Management at this complex let me down and I felt unfairly treated with my child. Over all I had by far the worst experience renting at AMLI Spanish Hills. Grounds people were always friendly and greeted more than office folks. Many pet owners were bad at picking up after their pets. There is no designated guest parking at the complex. Be prepared when having family over for them to receive towing notice. Pool is supposed to have a heater but is never turned on. WiFi at the pool area is also non functioning. For the price this apartment are being rented, there is much better complexes and with better amenities. The way management conducts business makes this a poorly desired place to live. Sadly based on my experience I don't recommend this place for families. read more

Wow...where do I begin? It's really a place to "experience" instead of reading a review about. Top notch service, the units space is very functional, the amenities are beautiful and the location is ideal. I was concerned a 1 bedroom would be too small but there is so much storage within the unit, that everything is working out great. I love my balcony. It's like having an extra room! I also really like that they offer events for the residents. That alone makes me feel that "I" matter and I'm not just a rent check.
