I went into planning my wedding pretty early on this year and thought- I have everything lined up. This is LONG overdue, but the fact that I still think about our wedding pretty much daily with the biggest smile on my face even though months have passed should be an indication of what a wonderful job Laura and her team at Serendipity did. We had the anxiety (and ultimately the pleasure) of having two weddings once Covid came through to postpone it the first time around. Making the decision to postpone was challenging, but Laura was with us every step of the way. She helped us weigh our options, she kept us up to date on what was happening in the industry, and she supported us with our decision to get married with our family present but delay the big day by a year. Our family and friends were often surprised by how calm we were about the change, but it's because Laura took care of everything. She was able to help us seamlessly transition our entire plan (no vendor left behind!) to a date a year in the future that worked for everyone. The wedding I will get to, but words cannot express how grateful I am to Laura for helping us make that decision and transitioning the entire plan so we didn't need to lift a finger. She was then, and continued to be throughout our entire time working with her, a steady voice of support, an empathetic ear, and a positive force of hope and optimism for us during the entire process. Fast forward to the wedding take two! This day was perfect in every way. We did our best to give some direction (admittedly were probably unhelpfully vague in our vision), but Laura seemed to just get it. She included the most thoughtful details, made the space beautiful, and would give her honest opinion about what would work and what wouldn't, and trusting her 100% is honestly the best thing any couple can do because she does not disappoint! We had a wedding in our backyard, which included a bit of a flipping of the space, some movement between areas, and an unanticipated level of creativity to have a vision for a space that has never held an event before. My parent's home was absolutely transformed into the most magical space. During the event itself, Laura was the epitome of calm, cool, and collected. Everything went off without a hitch, she ensured my husband and I got to try all the food even though we were mingling, and everything about the day was right in line with our hopes and expectations. My husband and I reflect often about how our wedding was genuinely the best day of our lives and the most fun we've ever had, and none of that would have been possible without Laura and her team. We hired Laura to help us design and coordinate for the month of the wedding. We had multiple virtual meetings to nail down the vibe we were aiming for. We communicated that we wanted a minimally wasteful and sustainable event and Laura was able to work within those confines to make our day look and feel magical. Through Serendipity and Laura, we could utilize the Aisle Planner platform, and this was a really easy way for us to organize and pass everything over to Laura and her team on the big day. It had a really neat feature for us to make a seating chart for our wedding venue's exact layout. It also allowed us to see the progress of our checklist as a project management tool. The platform was very versatile and allowed us to stay on top of wedding planning in the months leading up to the big day. Planning a wedding during a pandemic is hard. I ended up booking with Laura after the planner I had booked ended up not being able to work with us due to an unforeseen circumstance. At the time (pre-pandemic) our wedding was going to take place at the Kona Kai Resort. Our catering manager at the Kona Kai referred Laura when we told her we were needing to book someone else. I had spoken with Laura before I booked the first planner and really liked her energy when we had spoken on the phone so with the recommendation, it was easy to want to move forward with her. Thankfully, she had my date available! Soon after, Covid-19 hit and there was so much unknown. Laura was so wonderful getting on the phone with my mom & me to help ease our worries and relay as much information as known to her as opening and closing plans were changing daily in San Diego. Ultimately, the tough decision was made to change venues to Coasterra as we had to cut our guest list considerably and we felt Coasterra was a better fit for the more intimate wedding we were now planning. Laura rolled with the punches with us and helped us start planning a whole new wedding. I purchased a partial planning package with Laura as many of the key vendors had already been booked. While I think I may have misunderstood what I was getting with the partial planning package, Laura was fantastic are coordinating all of the vendors once they were booked. She was detailed and ensured our day went off without a hitch. She brought a great, can-do attitude to our planning process and was very solution-driven as there were a lot of unusual requirements due to the pandemic and county/state guidelines. Serendipity Events was definitely worth hiring to coordinate our wedding day. Laura is so level-headed and makes sure everything runs so smoothly that you would never know if there was a hiccup somewhere. I don't know of any and I'm pretty sure that's because of Laura. Serendipity's day of coordination package comes with a venue walkthrough that usually happens closer to the day of the wedding. However, I had no vision or ideas at all, and Laura was more than happy to walk through the venue with me and my MOH earlier so that we could discuss ideas on how to decorate our venue at the Safari Park. Fast forward to a few weeks before the wedding. Laura sets up a meeting to go over timeline and small details. I had been starting to become a little stressed about the whole thing and she was just so calm that it made me relax. The day of the rehearsal, Laura was there to run it and after, she took all the items that would be used the next day and I had absolutely no idea on how to tell her where things should be placed. And I literally mean EVERYTHING. With pretty much no instructions on where things should be placed. On the day, I had no idea what was happening down at the ceremony site and venue since I was sequestered away in the bridal changing room. Laura came by to deliver the personal florals and to let me know that everything was going great. My first look at the venue was when I walked down the aisle with my parents. It was breathtaking. I don't know how, but Laura was able to read my mind, take whatever I was envisioning, and made it better. Everything was beautiful and placed perfectly. All our guests kept coming up to tell us how gorgeous everything was and I kept pointing them towards Laura because I had absolutely nothing to do with it except for providing the actual items to be used. We found Laura at a time when we postponed our wedding twice and our first venue cancelled on us due to renovations. Daphane at Serendipity Event Rentals went above and beyond to make sure our wedding day was perfect. She worked with me for MONTHS to help create the layout of our event and answered what seemed like 10,000 of my questions. She is so very sweet. Their rental prices were unbeatable even without the 25% military discount (so generous!!). The only thing I would change about my experience with them is they didn't have everything I needed; I had to source a few things from another business. This is totally forgivable though, they are a small family business and our event was for 160+ and mostly outside! We rented: all of our foldable chairs, three tents, a large dance floor, an arch for the ceremony, cocktail tables, 6ft tables, and all of our linens. They provided 90% of everything though; it was high quality and her team set up seamlessly and quickly. I couldn't imagine our wedding without Daphane and her team's help. We just had my daughter's wedding this past weekend and it was perfect! Laura and Serendipity Events worked their magic to create a spectacular holiday themed ceremony and reception at Brick. Laura was fabulous in all steps-from ideas to implementation. When I walked into Brick I saw exactly what I had envisioned in my head. Laura has a calm way of leading you to exactly where you want to go. She is creative with her ideas, but always listens to your vision. Laura works quietly behind the scene with venues and vendors and before you know it the day is here and it turns out beautifully!
