My name is Lauren, and I got married in San Diego in August of 2014. I had some serious trust issues when it came to planning my wedding, mainly because I'm that girl who has obsessed over this day since I was a small child, but even more because I was planning my wedding in my hometown of San Diego while living in Austin, Texas. Cara North successfully eliminated any ounce of stress I had leading up to that day, and that's no easy feat. I am not exaggerating one bit when I say I couldn't have done it without her. My husband Ty and I hired Luxe shortly after getting engaged, and being on a relatively tight budget, we could only afford month-of coordination, still Cara treated us with all the care and enthusiasm I would expect as a year-long client before and after our month-of service began. Not only does she know what she's doing, she knows how to do it darn well. She was attentive, available and understanding. She dealt with my millions of questions over email, and even more questions once we finally sat down to talk in person 30 days out, and even better, she had answers and a game plan for most of things I wanted to do, and if they were outside the realm of possibilities (you do have to be realistic if you're on a budget), she was right there with an alternative idea. I was that annoying DIY bride (which I don't recommend doing for a destination wedding), but Cara and Savannah (who assisted the day of) came to our hotel the day before our wedding and took inventory of the TONS of decor I had made for the reception. It was A LOT, but they took on the challenge and executed it beautifully. If you can hire them for the whole shebang, which I wish I could have, Luxe's designs are amazing and better than anything I could ever put together on my own. These ladies have impeccable style and taste that will blow your mind. However, even though we couldn't quite indulge in the full treatment, Cara still made our homemade pieces look better than I ever thought they could. Once the party started, she held our hands through the important parts of the evening, arranged vendors so we got the most out of the time we had with them, and produced a seamless day. Best part: she stayed to facilitate clean up and pay out our vendors so we could enjoy our family and friends, even though I wish they could have joined us for the after party! (Because yes, we had that much fun with her!) The biggest pleasure of working with Cara on our big day was being able to hand everything over and just enjoy our day. We hired Luxe after our venue manager provided us with a short list of recommendations. I felt like the planner/coordinator was going to set the tone for the entire wedding, and I had some trepidation about making the right choice. More than anything else, I wanted to feel confident in their abilities, and I wanted responsiveness to my questions and concerns. Cara and Jenny provided me with all this in spades, and so, SO much more. From the first meeting, to the goodbye at the wedding, they were absolutely MAGNIFICENT. For the entire planning process, I felt like I was their only client, and we were genuinely treated like friends, not customers. They were SO incredibly well organized, helpful, encouraging, creative, and flexible throughout the entire process. There was not a single day or decision where I felt out-of-sync with them. They knew when to guide me, and they were 100% on board when I wanted to lead. They always gave quick and comprehensive responses when I contacted them (which was often!), and often went above and beyond - handling things that were not in the contract. They were extraordinarily knowledgeable, and knew their vendors and available products front-to-back. They worked very hard to understand "us" - what we liked, what we didn't, what we were drawn to, what inspired us, and it was extremely evident on our wedding day that their process works. When the wedding day arrived, it was just...jaw dropping. It was nothing I ever, EVER could have imagined, or been able to put together on my own. The elements and feel were so unique, and so "us," it was just visually stunning from start to finish. The whole day went seamlessly - they took 1,000 moving parts and pulled off a fantastic event without a hitch. It truly does not get better than Cara and the Luxe Events team. I wish I could give more than 5 stars on this rating, she deserves 10. Cara planned my destination wedding in La Jolla on a rather tight timeline of four months, and as I've said to her previously, she literally made every bridal dream I never knew I had come true. She is the epitome of professionalism, and with that professionalism comes tangible talent for design, scrupulous organization, and love for what she does, which I am certain gets transferred to all of her brides and clients exactly the way it got transferred to me.
