I had my appointment today with Nela for a color, highlight and cut. It was my first time with Nela. She truly took the time to understand what I wanted after showing her a pic of the color and cut I desired. She involved me in the final color choice when most would just go mix up colors after seeing the picture. She did not rush and took the time to ensure I was happy with everything. I was! She just worked on me and she was gentle (no pulling my hair to get it straight or burning because the dryer was too hot) and at the end I was very pleased. I have only been here twice. The first time GiGi cut my hair, and she did a good job giving my an angled bob with it slightly stacked in the back. Because of how my hair grows, it's really important the the back is cut that way or it looks weird. Gigi understood that. The second time I got it cut, Gigi was away for the weekend, but all I needed was a trim for my upcoming brother's wedding. How hard could that be for someone else to do that? Right? So my appointment was with another woman at the salon. I just said a slight trim and may be a little layering to give it some lift. She repeated it back to me and said, "so about a half an inch off?" I said, "yes. Exactly." Well, what I got can only be described as a Carol-brady mullet (but curly, as I have wavy/curly hair). Not only did she take well over 2 inches in the front, the back (which needs to be stacked) is the longest part of my hair cut now. To top it off, she told me I was lucky that I had time available to get a haircut because she does not. I wanted to like this place because they are super friendly and welcoming, and I like supporting women-owned businesses, but it's going to take me the better part of the year to get my hair back to any semblance of where it was before this second nightmare cut. The best thing I can say about it, is that at least I can put my mullet in a pony-tail. I give Gigi 5 stars, but this other person, who's name I can't remember (sorry. I probably blocked it out from hair-trauma), is in the negative. read more

I went to the same stylist for like 2 years and it was nice and I was happy but then the next time I called to make an appointment they told me she was no longer working there and would not tell me where I could find her. Instead of recommending someone else at their salon I felt like they just kind of brushed me off because I was her client. If you like you hair DO NOT TRUST JANE CONRAD! My husband had no other choice but her and she made him look like a cone head. The second time, having once again no other choice, she butchered him. The back was nowhere near straight and the front is totally uneven. If she had any ethic she would at least refuse the tip. Worst experience ever! Beware. The stylist "Trisha" was a little off/harsh in her personality since day one but since her prices were fair I decided to go back. (however they steadily went up each time I went) I went to her about 3 or 4 times and she was inconsistent every time with my hair. She made a big mess of it once and I had to go back and get it fixed. She told me she could do something she obviously could not do - then had to try to fix (which totally made HER mad). I still kept giving her chances. She was very much a gossip, which was disturbing. Discussed/complained about other clients tips with me as well as their personal business. I should have been more wary. After all of this I decided not to go back. Very unprofessional, judgemental and immature conduct. There are certain things you should not discuss in front of customers. One of the other hairstylists clients had literally just walked out the door when she began bashing him with another stylist. I could tell she has not been in the business very long plus she seemed to not be busy and now I know why. Her talents (just average and inconsistant) weren't enough to put up with the behavior.
