It is a coffee spot that offers some food, beer, wine, and a kids playground made from junk. The atmosphere and ambiance is really cool with positive signage throughout the venue. Kids pay $12 to pay with adults asked to donate $5 to visit. You can also become a member but since I was just visiting I didn't check it out. Beverages and food seemed to be priced fairly but all we ordered was a coffee and a drink for my kid. I loved the areas for kids to play. The indoor area has arts and crafts as well as a little loft to climb up to. Outside the playground is huge. The slides are nice, there is a bus, a car, and a stage. My kid loved all the toys and different areas to play in. Clientele were nice and outgoing. Staff and service were okay.

You'll see the playground at Jefferson Avenue and Lafayette Street. The part of the park which we visited is rather small. There is a tennis court and pavilions on the sides of the playground. The playground is nice and well maintained. There are two infant swings and two low-to-the-ground swings. There is a large play structure for bigger kids, and a smaller one for younger kids. There is a small sandbox to the side, too. The park has old, big trees surrounding it, so there's a lot of shade. I think one of the best thing about this park is the parents we encountered. One mom had 5 total kids with her, and we chatted for about an hour. Another pair of parents came by, and one asked if we had left a stuffed animal as we were leaving (we didn't). That was nice. If we ever find ourselves back in the area, we will return here!

A fabulous local park for everyone, especially close to north boulder/gunbarrel & niwot areas…read more This park has an excellent playground for toddlers. Truly great if your kids are between 2-5yrs old, this is a wonderful motor skills playground. It has a woodland theme with cute mushroom steps & faux wood decorative details. There is a permanent shaded picnic bench area with two long picnic benches. No bbq facilities anywhere. There are also benches throughout for close by seating. In the summer they put out two cloth tarps for shading the sandpit and part of the playground too. There are a few huge green grass areas great for frisbee & soccer fun. Also a long pathway around good for bikes & scooters. The neighborhood locals walk their dogs on it and it leads to a longer trail network. There is no bathroom here at all tho! Definitely worth a visit however.

My sole purpose for coming to Kanemoto Park was just to see the Japanese Pagoda & Gate…read more At the entrance to the Tower Of Compassion, which is the real name of the Pagoda, stands a red torii gate. There's a tree that is so big that it partially obscures the view of the tower itself if you're standing in front of the torii gate. The tower looks like a traditional Japanese Temple. It was built in 1973. It has 5 stories with each representing the attributes of compassion which are Love, Empathy, Understanding, Gratitude of all Things, and Giving Selflessly of Oneself. You can't enter the Pagoda. Not sure if there's even anything to see, but it might be cool to just look inside! Cool Fact: Longmont City Council has designated this Tower Of Compassion a Local Historical Landmark. In the area in front of the Tower is the Kanemoto Memorial Cherry Tree Grove, where there's a good number of Cherry Trees. I don't think these cherries are edible. This 7-acre park was donated to Longmont by the Kanemoto family in 1966. Side note: This family also gifted 10 more acres of land for other facilities like a Fire Station, Buddhist temple, Episcopal Church, Elementary School and the St. Vrain Greenway. Besides the Tower Of Compassion, this park has a nice playground, activity pool, basketball court, soccer/playing Fields, sand volleyball, & adult exercise equipment. On the cement path leading to the Pool & Tower of Compassion, and just outside of the restrooms, there's a large Dragonfly metal decoration. I love dragonflies, so it was a nice sight! The Left Hand Creek runs alongside this part of the path. It only takes a few minutes to walk to this tower. It's worth a visit if you're in the area. However, I made it a point to stop by on my way to another destination while visiting the area.

I have spotted Red Winged Black Birds, Kingfishers and Great Blue Herons just to name a few. It is beautifully maintained and I love that they plow the walkway in the winter so I can still take a walk with my dog. What an incredible tribute to Steven Day!
