I didn't know this place existed until I looked at Yelp, but I'm so glad I did! It's easy to find and there is a large parking lot. The first thing I noticed was how nice it smelled inside the salon. I called Serene because I needed a cut and color badly and I had just heard about this new salon opening in Holyoke. Being someone who loves to support local business whenever possible, I decided to book with them. I had been in the process of growing my hair out and had no idea what I wanted to do with it. I printed out 6 different pictures of possible styles, and I had an idea for color. When I met with my stylist she looked at the pics and asked me some questions and came up with a fantastic style that was all her own, based on my likes/dislikes. She also steered me away from a color that was not appropriate for my skin tone and made suggestions for ones that were. I walked out of there with the best cut and color of my life and will certainly be back! These ladies are polite, well-organized, very clean and neat, and know their business. I would recommend them to anyone in the market for salon services. Currently they are offering: hair, massage, nail services (hands & feet), hair removal, and makeup. Found myself with a couple of hours to burn and in need badly of a haircut. Normally I only go to my own hairdresser because I'm very picky about how my hair is. I like it short but textured and a specific way that takes into account two or three cowlicks plus a lower hairline. So I go to yelp like when looking for a new restaurant. Glad I could find this place to try - no way do I trust Supercuts!! Was greeted and sat down for a consultation with Elliot who immediately senses that I was having a stressful day. He started off the consultation with aromatherapy & the neck/head massage. Such unbelievable service and attention! Turns out it's an AVEDA concept salon so everything smelled fantastic and was a wonderful experience from start. The only sad part is that I live so far away I could not come here regularly - if only I could I would do it in a heartbeat! PS - only $30! read more

Called to make an appointment and was greeted by a very pleasant woman who was able to schedule me for a haircut in short order. Was reminded of my appointment by a friendly text message and the new email survey required during phase 2 of COVId. When I arrived and called from the lot they invited me in and tested my temperature and offered me hand sanitizer and a mask but, I already had on gloves and a mask. Then I was immediately greeted by Amazing Amanda. She invited me to sit in the chair and she was also wearing a mask and had ensured the workplace was sanatized every step of the way. (Felt completely safe) she was friendly and good natured, asked me what I wanted took the time to listen and then shared her thoughts, we agreed, and the. She worked her magic. And she is also remarkable with the little head massage you get during the shampoo, a brief break from reality, out of this world experience! I'm happy I scheduled my appointment here with Amanda and I look forward to making this a regular thing. So pleased!!! The price was right. The place was well-lighted and plenty of free off street parking. I also appreciated the relaxing scent as I walked in, I could be wrong but I think I detected I slight waft of frankincense! Went to visit this salon to get a lash lift and tint. After leaving I noticed my lashes did not look any different so I contacted Leah and she took days to get back to me. She said she was able to re do them but was not willing to work a little past her schedule to fit me in so she was going to have someone else do my service the other person as well was not able to work with me. Coming from this type of work if I messed up something on a client I would do everything I could to make things right even if it meant working a little later one evening. I requested a refund and the manager denied. Terrible customer service and as I said I did not receive what I went into the salon for. Stay away if going here for a lash lift and tint! read more

I have been an Aveda customer since 2004 in five different states, and this salon ranks with the very best in my experience. Michelle is talented, patient, thorough, and careful in her cuts, which is something I notice and appreciate. On top of that, she is kind, her salon is clean, interesting, and soothing to experience, and her staff is friendly, knowledgeable without being pushy or uppity, and competent. I have never felt like I am being rushed along or that I am not getting my fair time in the chair, even when there is another client waiting. This is huge with me, as I space my haircuts out a bit (8-10 weeks usually) and really look forward to the Aveda experience. I am so happy to have found her salon and intend to continue going there for cuts and highlights for the foreseeable future. I highly recommend Michelle, and I think she would impress clients looking for edgy cuts as well as professionals like myself who need to maintain a more polished look. read more

The salon is in kind of a weird part of town and is in a warehouse, so it's kind of hard to locate for the first time. However, it's a beautiful salon and looks like any other upscale salon you would find in the city. I'm from Boston, and needed a salon to get my hair done for a wedding I was in in Holyoke, and this was the only acceptable-looking salon on Yelp...even with only 1 review I took the chance. I'm glad I did. The stylist was young, nice, and did my hair super quick. Only $20 to get it washed, blow dried, and styled. Definitely a great find. read more
