I had such an amazing experience at Serenity by the Sea Spa. You definitely need to make reservations well in advanced though. I spent hours in there between my massage, the steam rooms, 0 Gravity chairs, an amazing crab cake lunch accompanied by a boozy lemonade. I HIGHLY recommend scheduling this on a potentially rainy day. Because it was raining I didn't feel like I missed out on the beach. It was also the perfect hangover cure. I booked a mother daughter spa day for a birthday gift. I had an 80min massage and foot scrub and it was fantastic. Justin provided a wonderful massage and I felt very relaxed afterwards! The massage included hot towels and my choice of 3 aromatherapy scents. The rooms were very nice and included a heated rack for your robe (what???!). Staff was amazing from the moment we checked in until we checked out. Gave a nice walk through of the place and were always around when you needed them without being overly attentive. Nicely oiled machine. They know what they're doing here. You check in and are toured past the gym to your locker room, handed sandals and a robe and assigned a locker. All handled very friendly. Then, you relax in the sauna, steam room, whirlpool or just lounge reading magazines and sipping mimosas, tea, lemon water or juice. You wait here for them to escort you to the back, into a private room. The massages are great...I hear "Lenny" is the way to go if you'd like a firm male. Also, great facials. The 50 minute facial includes either a hand or foot massage and a head/neck massage. It also includes cleansing, many masks and extractions. I came for the nail salon and Amalia was great! She spent extra time trying to fix a problem I'd been having with one of my nails and I was very happy with my mani/pedi. The spa itself was clean and all areas were open - really enjoyed the steam and hot tea with my allergies. If you are not staying in the hotel the beach chairs are not avail for your use which is a shame - so don't plan on using their beach although I found you can go and rent some next door. read more

The spa is really nice. There is a sauna and area to relax prior to your service. They offer a variety of massages. I got the ocean wave massage. It is the most relaxing massage that they have. If you need some stress relief, I would highly recommend. read more

Extremely costly... Had a couples massage with my best friend and while mine was wonderful my friends was mediocre and it was just shy of 50 mins and each paid close to 2 hundred dollars.. I had a body polish before the massage which was a total waste of 100$.. My deluxe hydra facial was amazing for $295.. however I had to pay 60$ for the derma plane and $30 for a quick 2 min eyebrow wax... hi While is was a wonderful day with my girlfriends, I'm still having a hard time justifying the close to $850 I spent.... read more

The services themselves were really good. I got an 80 minute aromasea massage and it was fantastic. However, there some aspects I'd the other free amenities that were just a little lacking compared to other spas ive been to. The lounging area had very comfortable couches but should have some comfy blankets. The robes were nice but a little threadbare inside. Other spas I've been to had more cosmetic stuff to use like hair brushes, and makeup remover. The locker room didn't have these. Otherwise the spa was really great and I hope they take these as suggestions. read more

My boyfriend and I went for deep tissue massages. We arrived right on time which made us have to rush around a bit. I know this was our fault but it was very rush rush once I hit the locker room. The locker room staff was very helpful from the locks on the lockers to explaining the "fancy" gravity chairs. The women's locker room was slightly confusing with a few twists and turns that made me get a little dizzy. Overall the amenities were plentiful and I wish I had taken more time to explore all of them. The massage itself was great! I love Serenity by the Sea! I had an absolutely amazing experience here. My masseuse was wonderful! I really liked how she asked me what I liked and didn't like about my previous massages. That was a wonderful way to figure out how to tailor my massage to my preferences. I also liked how she was very accommodating. I had never done hot stones before, but I wanted to try them. She incorporated the hot stones seamlessly into the massage in a way that was comfortable and relaxing. I would definitely recommend Serenity by the Sea for massages; you will not be disappointed! My girlfriend and I booked the 4-Diamond package for a girls' day and it was kind of disappointing. The amenities are ok. The hot tub and sauna were both nice and there was water and apples and oranges available but no other real amenities. Other spas I've been to offer things like toothbrushes and better snacks. Not a huge deal but we noticed. The bigger things were that between the two of us, most of our services were cut short. It was supposed to be a 50-minute massage, 30-minute facial, and 45-minute pedicure with a complimentary glass of wine. My massage was 50 minutes but hers was only about 40. My facial was only 20 minutes and hers was a few minutes short as well but her provider kept trying to upsell her on expensive treatments (that would have been rushed anyway given the express facial time anyway). Additionally, most of the facial was just a cleaners and a few creams being applied and a short foot and shoulder massage. My pedicure was only 30 minutes and almost 5 of that was her going to get our glasses of wine. She cut my nails but there was no other prepping done (like cleaning out under the nails, pushing back the cuticles, etc.). My friend's was about 35-40 minutes so not quite as cut short. Additionally, there was some issue with the air conditioning in the locker room so there were men working in there for some of the time, which was a little uncomfortable. Overall it was just disappointing for the price. The manager did offer complimentary passes to use the spa facilities again but I am moving so that didn't help me. They discounted my pedicure $12, but it still cost me just shy of $300 total. If I was staying in the area, I would find another day spa to go to in the future. read more

HUGE disappointment. Got my nails done there and they chipped within a couple days (dip nails) which usually last me up to 3 weeks. They popped off as a whole because they use cheap products. Very disappointed with schedule conflicts with the spa. I am a homeowner within the resort and have, on two separate occasions, had Serenity by the Sea employees change appointments from an 80 min to a 50 min massage because they had scheduling conflicts. Even worse, we were not informed on either occasion until we arrived at the spa. I gave it a two star rating because I have had good experiences, however when the customer service fails you twice, its time for a change!! Done!!!! read more

I have visited many spas in the past and this spa treatment was awesome. The four diamond package was great. The customer service was exceptional. The Brandy Spa Scrub and Honey Milk add on wasn't the best. I have had many scrubs in the past and you usually lay flat on your stomach and then flip to your back to get the scrub. When the attendant said I just have to sit upright in the bed it kinda sucked and made me feel uncomfortable. The treatment wasn't very relaxing, so it was a total waste of money. read more

I had a pedicure there several times and it was the best pedicure ever. All the staff is excellent but I found Sherry and Sue extra special. I love this place, it's the best spa in town and I've tried them all! Everything is perfect, the service, the ambience, the spa itself, it's all top notch here. Don't waste time going to the other places. There is only one reason I won't ever go back to the salon and it's the lady who did my hair rushed me thru the service, she wouldn't let me use the bathroom and I literary spent all day in the spa having 5 treatments, because "it would take her time and she has other clients coming". Well I'm a client too and quite a regular one! Too bad her attitude totally ruined that day, plus she did a horrible job doing blow dry and styled not the way I showed her on the picture. How hard could it be to wash hair and do waive on straight hair???? Wish I remembered her name, she is petite lady with dark curly hair and I won't come back to the salon because of her. Hope she isn't working here any more, she totally ruined the salon for me! I came here as an out-of-town guest for a no-chip mani and regular pedi right right before my destination wedding. The pedicure was amazing, especially the foot and calf massage that came along with it! One of the best I've had. The price was steep but I expected that just because it's a nail salon service inside of a spa. The no-chip manicure also had a great hand and arm massage, but the actual work itself was definitely subpar. The woman working on my nails didn't clean my cuticles and painted outside the lines with the shellac, so when the polish started growing out after a couple of days, it was peeling up on the edges and getting caught on everything. No-chip manis should always have clean cuticles and sealed edges -- this is what you're paying for that makes them last so long. Unfortunately, the no-chip manicure that I paid $70 for (yes, double what a no-chip normally costs) was a waste of money as it didn't last more than one week. I was really disappointed because this was supposed to be a very nice manicure for my wedding where my hands were being photographed up close but you can see the flaws in my wedding photos. I would expect that a spa salon would have some of the highest trained nail techs, especially for the price customers are paying, but I think the woman who worked on my nails just doesn't know how to do a good no-chip. I would give my pedicure 5 stars and my manicure 1 star, hence the 3-star review. read more
