I had some fillings done, and she is really quick and has a fun banter with her assistant which helps me not think about getting my teeth drilled. I also recently had a cleaning with Hayley, and she was great too- super friendly! She was patient with me and it was a pretty painless and stress free cleaning. I need a lot of dental work. During my visit I received more information about how to best take care of my teeth and the series of procedures I require to bring my teeth back to health. Everything (everything!) was explained in great detail. Not just what I need but exactly why and how. I'm not looking forward to the oral gauntlet I'm going to be travelling but I'm going in with the upmost confidence that the results will be well worth it and much appreciated. These folks are great. And yet he attempted to scare tactic me into future serious procedures (due to age)...when a simple look into research would reveal that much simpler and cheaper procedures may be better options IF needed. In talking with my husband he also experienced the same thing with him. Tried to seek him on over $18000 worth of work. In reality, another very good dentist gave better and more helpful solutions for less than $2000. Simply put. I will never schedule another appt with him. I may see another dentist in the practice as I'm told others are reasonable and not salesmen out to make a killing on you. But bottom line. A dentist who doesn't even look at my mouth and the demeans my smile because he is more focused on cosmetics is not a good dentist who actually cares about your health. I don't trust him.

They have modern tools to accurately measure the new tooth instead of them using the old way of jamming dental floss into the gums for an impression. They didn't even have to shave any of the tooth down, it fit perfectly the first time. Laura, one of the dental assistants, is also wonderful to work with. My husband had not been to the dentist in 10 years and I convinced him to make an appointment and he now sees Dr. McGovern. He now goes every 6 months no problem, and his teeth are great. I'm writing this because everytime I've had an issue the office has been able to squeeze me in quickly to take care of it. *UPDATE* The complete story is in the reviews below. My daughter was seen at Advanced Dental over…read morethe summer. She had a very minor cavity on an upper tooth and a more serious issue on a lower tooth. The dentist who worked on her tooth decided to work on the easier issue on the top and did not work on the more serious issue with the lower tooth at all. Shortly afterward that dentist was no longer employed by Advanced Dental. However, instead of notifying us about the situation, no warning was given and no one from Advanced Dental let us know that from that point forward they would no longer be willing or able to treat our daughter. Instead, they waited until my wife took time off from work to bring our daughter in for her next appointment and when she arrived, she was told that our daughter wouldn't be seen because they no longer had a pediatric dentist. So, apparently something that could have been avoided with a 10 second phone call turned into my wife missing a half day of work and my daughter getting no dental work done. In the meantime our daughter's tooth began to get worse and Advanced Dental refused to complete the work they originally promised would be done. We tried to find other dentists but no one could see her at all or immediately, including the so called referrals that we received from Advanced Dental. Eventually, we found a dentist in Stoughton called Children's Dental Health Center and they could see her relatively quickly, but by the time she was seen her tooth had decayed so badly that she was almost in need of a root canal. She lived in pain for weeks. Thankfully, her tooth was saved but it was extremely close. As you can see, since then all we've been told by Advanced Dental is how they did nothing wrong and how they did all they could. Laughable. But, in response I would suggest that if a business of any nature starts a project and is then incapable or unwilling to finish it, at the very least they should inform or possibly warn the customer in advance. Obviously, a child suffering is extremely serious, but I would even hope that a roofer would let me know that they couldn't finish my roof before the next rain storm. I would hope that a mechanic would let me know that they couldn't finish fixing my transmission prior to me coming to pick up my car on the day I was scheduled to leave for a cross country road trip. But, I guess that kind of common decency was, in my opinion, lost on whoever is running Advanced Dental. It seems like the only word their staff knows in NO. Obviously, I'm only one voice but it seems like there are plenty of other unhappy people who have used this company. I couldn't recommend any more strongly to be weary of this dentist and try as hard as you can to find another dental organization that will hopefully not just abandon you or your child mid-project. And like I already mentioned, my wife and I were patients at Advanced Dental for over ten years and our children have been going there since they were born. In my opinion, I have no other word to describe this situation other than outrageous!

I used to love this doctors office so much and speak it's praises. I always had a great experience…read morewith reception, and I went to this office for years before they switched doctors. However, my final experience here was awful. The hygienist got tons of floss stuck in my tooth, which has never happened to me before in all my years of dental care. It made me a little nervous. When I expressed my concern, she yelled at me to "just stay calm". She was clearly stressed and taking it out on me which was very unprofessional. She could have just calmly said, "don't worry, I got you". After my cleaning, I noticed that the issue of things getting stuck in that tooth was much worse, so I reached out to the doctor about it. She was very rude and dismissive And said we already talked about it and that she didn't feel comfortable answering my questions about foods to support overall dental health and that I could look it up myself. A day later, I received a letter in the mail saying that "due to a breakdown in doctor patient care, they would no longer be willing to be my dentist." I was absolutely shocked at this aggressive, melodramatic reaction to something so petty. I asked very normal and appropriate questions and behaved completely normally in the office. I can assure you that the "breakdown" was because of their lack of patient care, compassion, and social skills and not because of anything I said or did as a patient. I was extremely cooperative and asked very normal questions. I find this to be a really unethical move because they told me I needed additional dental care, yet, it is next to impossible to find a dentist that takes my insurance and it took me forever to get reestablisbed with this office.

For someone who has had very bad experiences with other dental offices, I was very nervous and was…read moreafraid that this office will do the same as them. I wasted insurance money from other dentists because they couldn't fix my issue. After doing alot of research, I finally decided to call Allen Dental Braintree. Thanks to the front desk (Gina) who was very patient with me, explained and assured me that the dentists there can and will fix my issue. The dental hygienist Nicole also had a very friendly attitude and because of this, I felt less nervous. Other things I've noticed: I did feel my appt with the dentist was rushed. The place is roomy but there was some unpleasant smell in the waiting area. I got a sore throat a couple days later after the appt and I do think it was from this dentist office. I did not have any work done at this place so I cannot say about their work. But their referral specialist did fix my issue that had been bothering me for years.
