Everything was neat, and you could even smell the fresh laundry. The bed was consistently warm, which I didn't expect -- such a thoughtful and comforting touch. Service: I booked a 1-hour combo massage, and it honestly felt like 90 minutes in the best way. I was assigned to an older gentleman, which I didn't mind at all. I never felt rushed during the session, and his hand placement always felt professional and safe. They do excellent deep tissue massages which is what I'm after - I'm very tight with lots of knots and issues with shoulders after prior sports medicine surgeries. I have had foot massage regularly, the standard rate these days in most places are $40~$45 an hour, even in Bellevue. Tried here for the 1st time and I didn't ask/check the price in advance. I figured this's Renton, how much can it be, my bad. This place was a ripoff. When it's time to pay, I saw the sign $60 for an hour Foot Massage. Plus $10 tip and they expected! Total $70. And the massage quality from "Lily" was below average in comparison to the countless massages I had in recent years. My first time to visit this Massage place. The masseuse was excellent. I came in with tight back muscles that it started to hurt for a few days. Do be clear how many minutes you want to be massaged. I chose the 60mins massaged for $65. When it came time to pay, the lady at the counter was charging me 75 and she said it was for her boss. She couldn't articulate what she meant. Be prepared for possible language barrier when you visit this place. What happened was that the masseuse did the massage with more minutes but I wanted only 60mins . I think this was deliberate to make clients pay more and pretend to not understand English to play on the clients sympathy. I recently noticed this new business and thought I would give it a shot since they are closer to home than the place I usually go to. I was greeted right away and led to a treatment room. The woman who greeted me felt my shoulders and suggested that instead of half and half foot and body, I focus more on body. I agreed since my shoulders have been sore and tight lately. When it came time for the actual massage, another woman came in. I never got either of their names, but both were friendly. However, the massage therapist was very insistent that I could not keep underwear on for the massage. I have never had another massage therapist have an issue with that. I told her that they were staying on and she made it clear that it was a major inconvenience for her. She did do a great job at getting most of the tension out of my neck and shoulders. The actual massage was pretty good, I was just a bit weirded out by the demand for total nudity, especially since when she left the room to get a different oil and the hot stones, she left the door partially ajar. There was a thin sheet over me, but I still felt like it left me rather exposed. The hot stones were nice at first since she laid a towel between the stones and my skin, but at one point she removed the towel and placed the stones on the underwear I had refused to remove. I'm glad I had kept them on because one of them slid up my back a bit and burned because it was still so hot. I actually said "ouch" out loud and she asked if they were too hot. I said yes, but she didn't remove the ones already on me, she just used lighter touches with the ones she was holding. I didn't realize it until I got home, but the one stone that had slipped gave me a burn so bad that it blistered. Overall, she did a good job relieving the pain I had in my shoulders, but I can't see myself going back after getting the blistering burn. Also, as others have said, she was pretty weird about the tip. I understand that is what makes up a decent part of their wages, so I always tip well. The card reader clearly stated that I had given a $20 tip and she double-checked it to make sure it was enough. I feel like she wanted to ask for more. It made for an awkward end to my experience. 2 stars since the work on my shoulders was good, but the burn and weird attitude keeps me from going any higher. read more

I was expecting more foot work since "foot massage" was in their name but maybe lower body is what they consider the foot? I did appreciate that my massage therapist checked in on me to ensure that the massage was not painful and to check to see if the pressure exerted was the right amount. The only issue that I had was that the there was a sign posted that the massage parlor was unable to accept card payments and could only take cash or Venmo. When it came time to pay, the staff asked if we wanted to pay with card or cash. What isn't stated is that by default the business charges a 20% tip and we were pressured to tip extra, "since the business owner" was the one who did one of our massages. I just had my second baby and am starting to work out again so my body needed some TLC. I wanted deep tissue and I called with hardly any notice. They were able to fit me in that day with Nick. Reading the reviews here I was excited. Upon entry, I felt very rushed and hardly any conversation was said before they showed me my room and left. I've gotten massages done plenty of times so I assumed to strip down and get under the covers face down. When Nick entered, he didn't ask me what areas to focus on, he just got down to it. I was so exhausted I didn't really care until I realized for about the first 20 minutes, he had really focused on my glutes. After a while, he lifted my leg and opened them wider to get my inner thigh and that's when I had to stop him and say "no more butt please. Please move on" he didn't get it at first so I said it more firmly. It just felt so violating to START with my most vulnerable area without relaxing my back and shoulders first. The rest of the massage went well but it took me a while to get out of my weird mental state. I've been to many different massage places and no matter what, I always find my way back to Jenny. Whoa. I called to make sure they weren't busy, and was told it'd be fine to come in right away. I did a 60 min foot massage. It was ... unexpected. But not bad. They start off soaking your feet, and give you a face/head/neck massage, then arms, and finally feet. Nick can absolutely read muscles well and leaned into every knot he found. The foot massage also included hot stone and hot towel. Then he had me lay on my stomach (which I fully wasn't expecting) and massaged my neck, shoulders, back, legs, and glutes. And man, oh man, did it hurt so good. I had insane knots and Nick didn't miss even one. The massage was $60, I tipped $15, they even gave me a water bottle at the end. Would absolutely go again. But as someone who likes to know what's going to happen before it happens, that was a lot of unexpected things for a "foot massage." Worth every penny, would do again. But unexpected for sure. It was also clean and the ambiance was fantastic. There are noises from neighboring stores, but that's not Serenity Massage's fault. It is always not easy to find a A+ strong deep tissue massage therapist in the area. I expect a person who can literally drill down and dig out the pain area in my lower back. Nick did such a great job at saving my life from the pain. What I really appreciate is he often asks how you feel during the massage and adjust the strength and body part you want to focus. Without a doubt the worst experience I've ever had in all my time going to get a massage. The problem isn't with the massage (not to mention it wasn't that good), it was with the service of employee up front. When it was time to pay for my $65 massage, I had her charge my car card $80 ($65 +$15). Immediately the lady flips out, begins yelling how she needs a $30 dollar tip and is refusing to give back my card. Literally cursing and holding my card hostage. At this point, her colleague is pleading that she stop and just give me my card. She throws my card at me and smashes the card reader. To make matters worse, she charged me for two massages and I was told it would take several business days to receive my money. Save your money.
