I went in on Sunday as a walk in, and it was a 15 minute wait. They were busier than I had expected so I was grateful they fit me in. I chose to go with the open area foot massage (meaning you don't get a private room). It was $52 for an hour + I left a tip. The $2 is because I used a credit card. If you like fancy spa like massages this isn't the place for you, but if you enjoy a GOOD, solid massage for a great price and don't need the fluff, this is the perfect place for you. The woman I had had perfect pressure. I prefer a strong hand. I always have a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders, so I prefer a very strong masseuse. They started with having my feet in hot water which was so relaxing, while that happened she gave me a facial and head massage. Then she cleaned off my feet and did my massage face up starting from my shoulder to arms to legs and feet. Then I turned over (she asked me to take my shirt off if I wanted, which I didn't mind because I had a sports bra and she kept a blanket over. Then did my shoulders and back, legs and again feet. I have been coming here and supporting this business for the past seven years. I have gotten some pretty good massages here over the years. Well I will not be coming here again ever. And here is why. Today I went in to purchase some gift certificates for $50. Their least expensive massage is $30 so I figured this would be an adequately generous gift to give. ‍ When I went in there were 2 massage therapists working on clients. I told them I was there to get gift certificates. I said I could come back later, if necessary as they were clearly busy. One of the therapists got up from the client she was working on and said she could help me and we went up to the counter, and she pulled out the gift certificate booklet. I told her the amount I wanted to buy (2 for $50 ea) and she directed me towards the menu and said they don't sell gift certificates for that amount because their massages cost more. I pointed to the low cost ones and she said they do not sell gift certificates for only $50 and I was like what the heck? So I told her I won't be buying any then and walked out. First of all, my apologies to the poor guy who was getting a massage and got interrupted. I would have been pissed if I were him and would question leaving a tip. He heard the whole interaction go down too. Second of all, they just lost a long time customer. Found this place, had a great deal and good Groupon user reviews. Took my husband with me and oh they definitely delivered! I had my doubts since it looked like a foot massage place, but their full body massage was great. They have private rooms as well. It is very clean, obviously brand new place. They just opened few weeks ago. Their pricing is very reasonable, so we added a half hour foot massage to our hour. Coming back and bringing my Mom next time! Husband and I had a date night here last weekend. I'd give it 2 stars for my massage; he'd give it 4 stars, which brings us to 3. His massage therapist (Peter) was very intentional with his movements, pausing to work on areas where he detected problems on my husband's body. My husband likes strong massages, which was exactly what he got. The amount of pressure for my massage (not by Peter) was fine but the movements were not. Rather than kneading or what I typically think of as massaging, my therapist briskly rubbed my skin over and over. I didn't feel like there was any intentionality with trying to figure out areas where I was tight. If I had a different person, I'd probably have a better experience. As for the ambience, it was clean and quiet (except for when the phone rang and there was some yelling for it to get answered; oh, and when the back door opens, there's a recorded voice that chimes out). But at least there's no chatting between employees, which is what happened at another massage place I visited. read more

I called to schedule a body massage for me and my husband. When I asked on the phone, the lady said $50 for 60 minutes. We thought it was a good deal so we came in to try it out. I didn't see the service menu at this point but I figured it will be the entire body. But it turned out that it was more focused on the back and just a few minutes on the arms and legs. (Later on I found out that combo was actually 40 minutes back and 20 minutes arms/legs). When massage was over, we were charged $60 each (not $50 as informed on the phone). I didn't complain because I thought I might have just misheard the lady on the phone. But when I looked at the service menu here on Yelp, it turns out we were charged the Aromatherapy body massage. I am pretty sure ours was NOT an aromatherapy one. I didn't smell any scent at all. We were given just the 60-minute combo which was $50. For those who will come here, just a tip..make sure you get the right massage that you intend to have and make sure you get charged the right service. read more

I've been here three times now and have been impressed all three times. I've been to a lot of reflexology/foot massage places all over town and pretty much any where i've ever travelled and I will say Sound Foot Massage is amongst the best for quality of massage. They do things here with intent and if they feel a knot in my back or foot, they will focus on that a little more versus most places that just give generic body rubs. I won't lie, the store front itself doesn't look the most inviting nor does the parking lot look the safest - inside you'll find dimly lit rooms and not much of a "spa like" atmosphere - however if you can get past all that and just lay down and relax, you'll find yourself pretty happy with the massage you'll receive. There are various packages and styles of massages of pick accordingly and ask questions if needed. I do love this place and will be back for more pampering sooner than later! -- covid notes-- staff wears masks at all times, they also do temperature checks at the door. I walked in today happy to finally be here. I was greeted by a man who immediately started massaging my hooves. I was thinking to myself, "good pressure. I can relax now." We were all of 3 minutes in when a gentleman walked in asking to be serviced by his regular masseuse, Kevin who happened to be unavailable. He then asked how long before my masseuse was available. Well I guess I found my new massage place! This place is awesome! I got a groupon for here with a promo code, making it too cheap not to try! I have gone to Chinese massage places in the past and stopped for quite a while after reading about some "unsavory" practices that are all too real, especially in the Seattle area. But I can say with much confidence that this is NOT one of those places. Although you never can be sure, I do think that this place is operating with honesty. Anyway, you're here for the review: Location: At the South end of the Rainier Ave Fred Meyer parking lot. While there parking is in the back (you can enter there as well), the front door is literally three feet away from the street. So, as one reviewer mentioned, you get road noise. HOWEVER, it really didn't take away from my experience because it sort of made for white noise, which I think cuts down on that initial awkwardness of being touched by a stranger. In fact I sleep with white noise on, so it was no big deal to me. Once you fully relax it kind of blends together with the idyllic sounding Chinese guitar music the play. Maybe that's why they call it SOUND massage, hehe. Also, it shares a wall with Subway, so every now and then you get a whiff of the yeasty bread that they use, but no biggie. I also think your sense of smell is heightened because they cover your eyes. But those who dislike it could go for the 60 full body, which is done in one of the private rooms. The massage: For those of you new to Chinese massage, it's a shared space with multiple beds in one room, you keep your clothes on, except rolling up your pants and shirt. When you buy a foot massage, they actually work on the whole body. You lay on your back first, with your feet in a hot tub of water. They start with the head, face, neck, shoulders, arms, and hands. Then, they move on to the feet. They are firm, and practice reflexology, using pressure points. Yes, they slap you around a bit, but it's all for your health, I swear! This is not abuse people! I've seen my share of reviews that show bruises and say they were too rough! This is normal for Chinese massage. If you are dehydrated or have low iron, you might bruise. I never have, but I'm sure some are more prone to it. Guys, it's like strong medicine. #hurtssogood! I for one am 5 months postpartum and have been waiting for a while to get one. Obviously not ok while pregnant, but now that I've been breastfeeding this long, I've done a number on my neck, arms, and shoulders. So it was amazing how the guy was able to work out those kinks, get into the scar tissue, and I could feel him identifying knots and working into them. This is how you get rid of those things, and it also releases toxins, which is why you must drink lots of water after to flush it all out. Anyway, they did a sugar scrub on my feet which was included in the groupon. Then he stretched me out, I flipped over, and he worked on my back and down the legs. I appreciate that he asked if I wanted oil or not. The groupon included hot stones as well, and this is the only negative part. They were wayyy too hot! Poor guy couldn't even touch them. He waited a minute for them to cool down and immediately burnt me when he put them on. So I just told him its fine to skip them. I bet its more the fault of the owners for having their warming system too hot, and at that point I was physically unable to get mad about anything, I was so relaxed. Anyhow, I left sooo happy! I didn't even know how much I needed it until I felt the results. Drank lots of water all day after and had minimal soreness. But it's the good kind of sore anyway! Their regular prices were something like $35 for a 30 minute session, which I would totally pay without a groupon. I tipped a lot though- he deserved it. I lucked out with this place. I booked my mom and her boyfriend a massage at another spot, but they didn't have any room for me. So to kill time, I went here. They're about four months old. I've had many foot massages and this was definitely the best one I've ever experienced. Kevin worked on me and he was amazing. The hot stones were an extra bonus that I have not had at other places, especially when they put some kind of band over your feet to hold the stone in place. When people hear of "foot massage" they think it's just a foot massage, but believe me, it's more than that. You get the full body treatment.
