The place was very clean and well stocked with so many options to elevate your experience. We did the hydrotherapy circuit and really liked the aromatherapy options and the snowballs for the sauna. I hardly ever leave reviews, but this one deserves one. I was really happy to find a spa in the city because I genuinely needed some time to de-stress, relax, and take care of myself. I was surprised they had a last-minute, same-day appointment available and was really grateful for that. I originally booked my appointment for 7:30, and within a few minutes they called asking if I could change my appointment time. I had no problem with this because it actually gave me extra time to enjoy the spa beforehand. However, the girl who booked my appointment told me the change would be better because I would have complete private access to the spa, which ended up not being accurate. I also specifically requested someone who was very experienced with deep tissue massage. When I arrived, I realized I had been booked with a different therapist and a different appointment time than what I thought was confirmed. The staff did acknowledge the mix-up and gave me a complimentary juice, which I appreciated, it was a kind gesture. Unfortunately, the massage itself is where my experience shifted. I have been receiving massages regularly for the past 15 years, and while my therapist had some good techniques and did redeem herself toward the end of the session, overall I felt the level of professionalism and presence was lacking. The first thing she shared with me was that the front desk overbooks her and doesn't give her enough time between clients. While I understand that can be frustrating, hearing internal workplace issues as a client right before trying to relax felt off-putting. During the massage, there were several moments where I felt she wasn't fully present. For the first 10 minutes, it was very obvious she was on her phone texting while massaging me with one hand. I eventually asked if she could please use both hands. Her response was that it was difficult to massage the neck with both hands, but as someone who gets massages often, I could tell the issue was that her attention was divided. Her phone was vibrating throughout the entire massage. Throughout the session, she repeatedly stepped away from the table, whether to grab oil or other things that could have been set up nearby. This kept interrupting the flow of the massage. There were many moments where she completely broke contact with my body rather than maintaining connection with her hands, which is something that is generally considered an important part of creating a grounded, professional massage experience. Toward the end, I do feel she became more present and incorporated some nice techniques, which I appreciated. However, around that same time, the front desk became extremely loud. It honestly sounded like there was a party happening outside of the treatment room, which was distracting and took away from the peaceful environment I was hoping for. Overall, the massage portion unfortunately dampened my visit. Her name is something along the lines of "May". If you want a text-free massage, I recommend going to someone else. I was also a little concerned about the cleanliness of some of the areas by the heated pool and cold plunge. I noticed hair on the steps and dirty towels left in the saunas/steam rooms. That being said, there were definitely things I did enjoy. The space itself has a cute vibe and I really appreciated the thoughtful details.. the cold towels, ice balls, tinctures, aromatherapy, and little touches throughout the bathhouse. I really enjoyed the variety of each room. Overall, I think this bathhouse has potential and there were parts of my experience that were enjoyable. I just think with more attention to communication, cleanliness, and consistency in the service, it could be a spa if recommend and return to on my next visit. Most alarmingly, a man entered the room while I was partially exposed. Beyond these privacy violations, the establishment required unusual waivers regarding touch in sensitive areas that felt inappropriate for a professional massage. I'd come here roughly three times before deciding to host a Galentine's Day celebration, via private booking. The multiple spa spaces (steam room, clay sauna, Finnish sauna, and more) make it perfect for a large-ish gathering to have elbow room (we had 20 people) while the layout also makes it intimate enough that we felt connected. Nothing like all your friends cheering from the hot tub while you cold plunge! While the spa is always "social" so no need to whisper, I highly recommend the luxury and fun of a private booking. Aside from respectfully keeping our voices low in the locker room near treatment rooms being used by other guests, we were able to laugh and toast to our hearts' content. On that note, the staff was so accommodating with a table for the snacks we brought, a tub with ice for our drinks, and generally all the coordination that it took to pull this off. They made it as easy as possible. And on the day-of, Denise was a particularly gracious host -- welcoming us and even patiently/considerately snapping a group photo from multiple angles (at our request, to be clear - haha). My fiancé booked this as a date for us and it was super relaxing. I got a body scrub and massage, which gave me discounted access to the baths afterwards. The baths themselves were comfortable, with a hot plunge, cold plunge, two types of saunas, and a steam room. They also had a pretty unique snowball machine which you could use to make balls of ice, as well as a hot tea station. My only complaint is that the space is a bit small and can feel a bit crowded, especially the locker rooms which literally have the lockers right up against the entrance. They use curtains to preserve privacy, but when people enter, if you have a locker by the door they will bump into you. We were not informed the time changed as a result. When I arrived we were told the services were not the same room and that the service does not include entry, the entry piece was my misread of the website. We purchased the entry tickets for two as we were early for our service but when asking to be in the same room was told that it was fine. We had two massages scheduled and it was quite disorganized from beginning to end. They did their best to accommodate but it felt frantic. It went from starting at 4:45pm to being at 5:00pm given a scheduling error, we were told mixed things - first that we booked 5:30pm and we were too early, then told we were at 5:15pm originally. I'll be honest as a customer I'm okay with making a mistake and reading things but I felt really uncomfortable like I did a grave mistake by first arriving early to the facility and then for thinking my service was what I read in the confirmation email. Communication could be a lot... better. Once we started the services felt like we were rushed through the intake process, the following service we had some bruises service. Very disorganized for a noon arrival time. The staff informed us they were slammed over the holidays and were exhausted. The locker room is WAY too small for the amount of people they let into the facility at once. There's 2 showers and 1 toilet and no space to get changed. Non of the lockers had clean towels and we had to ask staff to restock. They had no cups for the tinctures, so that was a bust. There really wasn't enough staff to give you a full tour and explain the layout. It was odd. We kept having to ask for information. The line for the women's toilet was so long throughout my 2 hour visit, I had to ask if I could use the men's. I used it twice. Gross. The tile in the steam room looked dirty. I didn't even venture into the hot tub, as it was stuffed full of bodies. The sauna's were nice, but really hot. The snowballs did help, but still found it uncomfortable to sit and chit chat without getting overheated. My massage was a overall good, but my male massage therapist left me feeling uncomfortable. He was not very considerate about keeping my naked body covered while I changed positions on the table. While on my stomach, he put me in what felt like a wrestling pose. He put my hands over my head and then told me to roll to my side so he could work on the knot. I looked down and my boobs were hanging out and jiggling around because of the pressure he used. I couldn't reach the blanket to cover myself. He also grabbed my hair and arched my back while in this position. It made me feel uncomfortable, but wrote it off as a unique massage technique. He was a nice guy and chatted my whole massage. In fact he talked a lot about marriage and gave me lots of unsolicited advice. It wasn't until the end of my massage, when he had me rotate on my back, he was rubbing the front of my left leg and then lifted my knee up to my armpit to do some sort of hip opener. I was sooooo uncomfortable because he didn't tuck the blanket to protect view of my vagina. I'm pretty sure, he could see up to my cervix. He did the same on the other side. Again, maybe this is a unique type of massage specific to this spa. The massage therapist also had me huff some essential oil at the beginning and middle of massage... Now I'm hoping it was just essential oil and not something that would harm me.... I will NOT be back. I spent $300 and left feeling germy, violated and disgusted. No. Just no. Save your money. We booked a two-hour bathhouse session at Soak & Sage with massages afterward, thinking we were in for a relaxing reset. Instead, my nervous system clocked in for a full shift. The stress started the second we walked through the door. I get that it's a social spa...fine. But this wasn't lively, it was chaotic. People squeezing past each other trying to exit, others hovering at check-in, no space to breathe. I could barely move to get to the front desk. Most of the staff were friendly, which I appreciate, but the physical layout makes that warmth irrelevant. First impressions matter, and this one was jarring. The women's locker room? Truly the smallest I've ever seen at a spa. One bathroom. Zero flow. You're bumping elbows just trying to change. The showers offered barely any privacy and the curtain gaps were... ambitious. It didn't feel thoughtful; it felt crammed. Credit where it's due: the steam room and cold plunge were solid. Those were the only moments I felt remotely grounded. But the sauna? Nuclear. I've done plenty of saunas. I know heat. This was over the top. I overheated in under ten minutes. And the vibe. I wasn't expecting monastery-level silence, but the music choices were... confusing. She barely used any oil or lotion, so it was dry and draggy instead of fluid. The whole thing felt disengaged, like she was counting down the minutes. A spa should lower your cortisol. This spiked mine. If you're looking for deep relaxation, privacy, or thoughtful flow, this probably isn't it. The treatment rooms are very small, and the music plays extremely loud. If you have a facial or massage, you are not going to relax. I had a facial tonight and left with a headache from the loud music. My facial itself was pretty good, and the girl who works there was really sweet. Okay, so I REALLY wanted to like the place because it's close, not bad priced, and I thought it would be a lovely monthly addition to my self-care routine. Getting any facial treatment does not actually include any soaking time, which...I understand, but I would rather pay a bit more and have it include the full spa experience vs. separate. I thought it was kind of weird because I didn't want an hour and a half of soaking time, but like, a nice 30min before a facial would've been awesome. I arrived a little early and was asked to wait on a bench right outside the treatment rooms, but it mostly just felt like I was in the way. My facial was in a treatment room that was RIGHT NEXT to the locker room (that also had shared showers and a tiny dressing area). You could hear activity in the locker room over the calming spa music, and it generally felt like the walls were incredibly thin. HUGE shout out to the woman who did my facial, Monique, who I would've continued seeing because she was amazing...but when I called the day after, I was informed by someone who said they were an owner that she had put in her notice the day prior. Given she had mentioned that she helped build the treatment practice and hired a bunch of the facialists, she clearly wanted the place to be successful, so I am wondering what actually happened. While I didn't have a horrible time, it definitely felt like there are some new spa growing pains for this place. As you enter in you're welcomed and asked for your shoe size for sandals and led back to the changing locker rooms. There's showers to rinse off before and after. And, there's plenty of signage around to guide you through the different rooms and time suggested.
