What concerned me most was the apparent inability to separate personal emotions from professional responsibilities. Whatever issues may exist between two spouses are personal matters. Once those issues begin influencing business decisions, staffing, client relationships, scheduling, and the overall client experience, it becomes a business concern. As a longtime client, I was particularly disappointed by the lack of transparency surrounding the changes that followed. A massage therapist I had regularly seen was suddenly removed from the schedule and replaced, without what I felt was appropriate communication to the clients who had established ongoing relationships with her. Clients should not have to discover major changes to their provider through the schedule or simply show up and realize that things have changed. I also found it troubling that personal conflict appeared to extend into the business's public-facing social media. As a client, I should not be exposed to indirect public commentary or personal disputes between business owners.
