I give Serenity Nails 2/5 stars. The front desk lady is super sweet, and the shops is very clean and well taken care of. Unfortunately my problems lie with the nail tech Mylee. I showed her the design I wanted which she said she could do. However I left extremely unhappy. My nails look nothing like the picture. If mylee couldn't do the design, I wish she would've been honest with me. I would've worked with her to come up with another design. Instead, I've called another salon and made an emergency appointment for Sunday. read more

I walked in hoping for serenity and walked out with gangster rap echoing in my ears and peeling gel nails by day three. I popped in after a hair appointment down the street because I had a wedding coming up and a Napa weekend on deck. I usually avoid gel manicures (hi, UV exposure), but I needed the extra staying power. The reviews promised a "peaceful oasis," so I thought perfect! When I arrived, it was empty and quiet... except for one lady camped out on a pedi chair watching a loud show on an iPad, shoes off, fully posted up. Not exactly tranquil, but it was off-peak hours, so I let it slide. Then a few customers started to arrive and one of the ladies sprang to life, turned off the iPad, grabbed the remote, and I thought, ahhh yes, here comes the spa music. Nope. What blasted out of the speakers was basically the opposite of "serenity." Think explicit lyrics, heavy on the NSFW language, I'm talking extremely vulgar language, swear words, graphic names for male and female parts, the kind of music that's not just inappropriate for a spa, but for any public, family-friendly space. There were kids in the room! I was cringing in disbelief. Honestly don't think they understood the lyrics or they probably would've changed it but still, why choose that genre at all for a place called Serenity Nails? Still, I wasn't going to write a review until my nails started peeling on day 3. I've had plenty of gel manis in my life and never had them fall apart this fast. Two nails are a mess, and I'm heading to wine country tomorrow. Not ideal. The woman who did my nails was nice, but the space wasn't especially clean or calming like some reviews suggested. Between the background soundtrack and my sad nails I'm starting to wonder if some of these reviews are in fact real or from overly generous existing customers or friends. The one thing I won't be wondering about is where I'll get my next gel mani. read more

I called in Saturday morning and was greeted by Tiffany, the owner. We lived like 5 minutes away, so 10 minutes later, I was in the salon getting my manicure. The place is clean, peaceful and had a few customers already in their chair at about 11AM. I was offered a plate of fresh fruit, Saran wrapped, with a bottle of chilled water. Tiffany was very welcoming and very kindly set me up promptly upon my arrival. She asked me for my nail preference and very quickly started my manicure. My hands were nice and polished in no time. She then transferred me to one of their massage chairs. They all looked new. Very well maintained. Jenny then started on my pedicure. I do gel on my feet so that the polish don't rub off when I wear closed toed shoes. Quality and service was great. A little on the expensive side for similar places in the area but they do a very good job and have kept everything super clean. Worth a try! read more

You're welcomed with a plate of fresh fruit and water and the best service every time. Prior to coming here I called and asked if they did gel x. Soon as I got there the woman who was working on my full set made multiple mistakes. She had to restart at that point I figured she didn't know what she was doing. The application process was messy and sloppy, the tips didn't fit my fingers. I had her remove them. The extra massage for a deluxe pedicure at $55 is nice and relaxing. But it's ridiculous that a nail salon can't do a basic polish that I have streaks in the polish. It's looks no better than if I painted it. Their website also fails to mention an additional 3% charge for using a credit card instead of cash. You are only informed of this when you are ready to pay. read more

Tina did a wonderful job and was very meticulous in making sure my pedicure came out perfect. $60 for a pedicure seemed reasonable to me, especially for how great the service they provided was. Decided to try Serenity as my usual place was packed, and I'm really pleased with the experience. The lovely Miss Linda gave me an excellent gel pedicure, and listened to my request for no sugar scrub or hot stones/towels (I had my legs lasered earlier in the afternoon, so skin sensitivity was an issue). She stayed with lotion and massage, both of which were perfect, and she gave me the sugar scrub packet to use later in the week when my skin calms down. Gel colors are currently limited as compared to other salons, as they're waiting for shipments to come in, but the selection they have at the moment is still quite good. There are lots of solid colors to choose from, as well as glitters. Hoping over time they'll add iridescents and cat eye, too. Prices are comparable to other local salons, the massage chairs are comfy, and the foot bowls are gorgeous - colored, textured glass instead of the more industrial-looking foot bowls other places have. I spontaneously went into this shop for a pedicure today. The wait for a walk-in was very short - I was seen almost immediately. The shop seemed very clean. I had a relaxing and pleasant experience and the nail technician did a great job. My toes look prettier than they have in years. Importantly (for me at least...) the technician was a kind person. I honestly don't get mani pedis very often because in the past techs at other salons have been very rude to me about my appearance (bluntly saying I look ugly and need to fix myself by more nails/waxing, etc). Those places were trying to upsell me on more beauty procedures. I received no such treatment here and it was so nice. Anyways I will be coming back in the future!
