I go to Wendy for my haircut, blow outs, and updos. She does editorial style work! Her updos are not overdone or too tight. Her blow outs leave my hair, silky and straight. My hair is thick, so it's hard to cut-- She gives me the perfect cut, every time. Great braids, too! Patient and very sweet. I highly recommend her! read more

He did such an amazing job with the highlights and was extremely thorough in explaining his whole process. Rather than taking large sections and bleaching them like I've seen at other salons, he took really tiny sections to create a much more blended look and the end result was exactly what I was looking for. I also made a blowout appointment for the actual day of prom and Maria was super fast and so sweet the whole time. She was lovely to talk to and took note of details I hadn't even realized I mentioned and styled my hair to best suit my current habits to make it as low maintenance as possible. Maria and Albert and their gentleness both contribute to a very comforting and peaceful environment that makes anyone who steps into the salon feel at home. What separates 231 Salon from any other salon I've been to is the kindness of the stylists and the amount of consideration, care, and thought they put into helping you achieve the look you want while also educating you on hair care. Manolo Grove in coconut grove, it's a small studio with that at home feel. With only 3 chairs for clients to have hair cut in, you feel safe and appropriately distanced. They are staying safe for covid and wearing masks and wiping down the chairs and everything in between clients. Carlos is INCREDIBLE. My highlights are absolutely flawless and the cut is to perfection. Appointment only and having a few hours for each appointment allows Carlos to focus on just you for as much time as needed until you're satisfied. I used the Groupon which was a great deal! Downsides: They don't accept credit card. Only Venmo and Zelle Parking: with construction and everything in coconut grove, it is really difficult to find parking. The closest VISIBLE garage Mayfair Garage is $18 for three hours and I went on a week day. It is REALLY hard to find. Better to google Venues in the Grove or the Blonde Tulip, which are across the street from the plaza in which Manolo is located. You go to the bottom floor, and it's in Suite 10. And a tip is that the closest garage is actually next to the Blonde Tulip (unsure the price) Because of the difficulty finding the place and parking, I give it 4 stars. But if it were just about the service and hairstylist, it would get a full five. Will definitely be returning to Carlos!!
