I contacted them a couple times over the course of two or three weeks and finally called to ask if we could get on their rotation or if I needed to find another company, and they came the next morning, finally. I'm hoping that their a little more reliable going forward; I may wish to explore some of their other landscaping services and snow service if they do it. Because I appreciated them coming right away when I needed them initially I'm going with the four star rating here, but I'll return with an update if need be.

I got burned pretty bad. The project went over budget 3 times, first by 1K, then by another 750 and finally again by another 750. Each times a disingenuous excuse was given about personnel shortages and inaccuracy on the initial estimate. At the end I had to literally pay them to leave the project. I then found several weeks later that the previously agreed on underlayment for the mulch install was not installed causing a bunch of weeds to grow over newly installed mulch. So that meant another $2K out of my pocket but this time with a different contractor bc I would never engage with these guys again. Strongly advise to be very cautious and look elsewhere.

I called for a quote on a stone veneer and possible retaining wall rebuild. The rep showed up (said…read morehe was son of owner), seemed to care more about his designer glasses and getting me to the show room rather than listening to what I wanted done. "In his experience" is all he talked about and he "knew" the retaining wall had to be replaced based on what he saw. I asked for 2 quotes, 1 to rebuild the veneer and 1 to rebuild the retaining wall and veneer. I'm in construction and felt like this was a money grab, because he didn't listen and didn't think I knew what I was talking about. He didn't listen to what I was asking to be done, he was really focused on selling me new stone, even though I asked to reuse the existing which matched the rest of my house. I got a bunch of reasons why that might not be possible. Then it came, he said to try and reuse the stone would be 25-35K and no guarantee it would work. In his experience he could tell I needed new stone and I was looking in the 40-50K range but would work with me on the new stone. He would price it out and send it over with in the next 3 days. He text me a couple times over the next 2 weeks, I never got the quote. Long story short, I got the entire job done for less than 10K. J&P Masonry was absolutely fantastic! Pawel was honest, discussed the entire job and adjusted the price DOWN once we confirmed the retaining wall was intact and didn't need any work. He was quick and reused all the existing stone!! Now J&P is redoing my back patio.

On June 24,2026 at 6:51 p.m. a major wind blew thru our yard. We were not home at the time. There…read morewas severe damage throughout our neighborhood and along the gas line adjacent to the back of our property. We had a silver maple tree in our back yard that had to be 100 years old. We have lived here since 1976. Brown Tree service had cleaned and trimmed our trees 4 times over the years. The wind that blew through ripped off 4 major branches 12-18 inches in diameter. 2 landed in our garden bed on top of our potatoes, 1 landed on our fence, and 1 landed on another garden bed of ours. Our tree was not diseased at all. In fact, the branches that were ripped off looked very healthy. We called our Aborist, Ken Brown that night. When he was able to get back to us (about a half hour) he'd be here by 6:30 the next morning. He was true to his word. He walked out back, surveyed the damage and said that this was going to be a removal, not a salvage. He said he would have a crew on site within an hour. Again he was true to his word, the crew was "johnny on the job". The crew worked so well together. They also had to take care of another tree that had also lost a branch but just needed minor cleanup. Ken was by several times while they were working. It took all day but the clean up was fantastic. He told us that because of the other tree damage around the area he would be back the following week to grind out the stump. Once again, on the following Wednesday, his man showed up and really ground out the stump. He was here for three hours making sure that the stump was ground out almost a foot below ground level. Ken Brown has always done a professional job maintaining our trees and did a superlative job. We plan to replace our tree this fall after consulting with Ken. We wouldn't trust anyone else to do it. Mr. Brown showed up on time, he elevated the situation and gave me what I thought was an honest bid. We ended up taking down 3 trees and grinding the remaining stumps. This company's equipment is top notch, clean and well maintained. A team of four professionals did the work statement in five hours. My yard was raked, and all the debris were removed.
