Came here for a quick coffee break as we were walking around Hyde Park. It was bustling with energy and lots of great views. There terrace was also beautiful, but only served drinks and hot food. We went downstairs for coffee and banana bread. The coffee was good (and I rarely drink coffee) and the banana bread was super moist and the crust toppings gave it a good crunch. Stopped by to rest and have drinks after a long day of walking. I asked one of the bartenders for a half pint of Guiness and he poured a half pint of Pale Ale, so I told him and he told me I said Pale Ale, which I denied, printed the order and told me "see, you ordered a Pale Ale" to which I responded "no, i asked for a Guiness and you put in a Pale Ale". He ended up pouring me the Guiness but with a pour and unwelcoming attitude. read more

This was the first spot I checked out while in the city. It's easy to find after a brief walk around the park. Big open windows for nature lighting. Plenty of outdoor patio seating to relax next to the lake and feel the cold breeze. It was empty when I first got there, so the staff allowed me to pick my own table. The Shakshuka was delicious full of flavor. Perfect for those who want to avoid eating meat in the morning. Unfortunately they forgot my tea. People after me were already getting their drinks before me. I had to remind them they forgot me order. Sort of soured my experience here. But still nice place to try out. read more

Pre-COVID review: It was a day full of walking and I needed some sugary replenishment. Good thing we found Serpentine Bar & Kitchen in Hyde Park, so I didn't have to make the long walk out of the park to get a snack! I ordered 2 scoops of ice cream, which cost £3.50. I picked the red cherry and caramel honeycomb flavors. Yum! There were tables available to sit and people watch/scenery watch while enjoying the ice cream. read more

After walking Hyde Park we needed a rest so we stopped in here for ice cream. The girl refused to give us half of one flavor and half of another. We settled on Rocky Road and it was far too sweet--never mind she gave us barely a scoop. On the plus side, this place has an amazing view and lots and lots of seats, plus restrooms. read more

Great location with surprisingly good food. I didn't have high expectations for this place assuming it was a normal tourist trap/concession stand. If the weather is nice, sitting outside is amazing. Even sitting inside looking out through the glass is pretty great. Baby Friendly 5 stars Kid Friendly 5 stars Cauliflower steak-fantastic. This was one of the best/healthiest things I had. Great size portion! Veggie burger- Good. Tasted good, but I was surprised it didn't come with chips. Pizza-tasty Many people bring babies and children here, and with good reason! Extremely busy restaurant but T least they got enough staff to keep the turn over quick and tidy! We got a chicken pizza and a prawn/avocado salad. In summary, chicken pizza lacked chicken, and the avocado salad had 2 visible pieces of avocados that was about a tea spoon size. A nice surprise On this hot day we did spend a bunch of hours in Hyde Park. Naturally we got hungry after a while and this place was closest to us. Location couldn't be better, with great views of The Serpentine (at least outside). There is a good number of seats outside and a lot more inside. We travelled with our dog, so an outdoor seat was our choice (no dogs inside - but why sit inside anyways). It was really packed and no seats availabe. The waitrees helped us looking for table, which was nice. We kept looking when she came back after a while pointing us to an available table. That was really nice, especially given how busy it was that day. Kudos to the staff! We ordered a pint, a summer berries cider and a Rucola / Prosciutto Pizza. Service again was friendly and pretty fast too. Drinks were nice and cold and - for London - fairly priced. The Pizza was a good choice, good flavours and fresh ingredients. Nice twist with the Rucola on top. We didn't expect much from this Restaurant. But we were positively surprised by the really nice staff and the food quality. read more

Not much in terms of food, the pizzas and the salad are nice, but it doesn't matter, because you're there to only people watch, enjoy a light and meal and drink in the sights and sounds of a wonderful London summer evening...there's something blissful about sitting casually in Hyde Park, especially in July. And yes, now you know why all those poets went crazy writing their ode to this place...! I am surprised no one has given this place a 5 star rating yet! I cannot think of a better place to go in London than Serpentine on a beautiful summer evening! It has the perfect ingredient to have a great time - Located in the center of lush green Hyde Park, brilliant outdoor seating area by the serpentine river, the most beautiful place to sit and watch the sun set, great pizza, Pimms Pitchers and great crowd! I mean what else can one possibly ask for from a restaurant? I have been here on several occasions and also hosted my birthday party here last year and it is always a pleasure coming back here. In my last visit yesterday when the sun finally decided to shine on London after a long wait, Serpentine was packed and yet the service was so fast and the spicy pepperoni pizza couldn't taste any better along with my Pimm's Pitcher! The price is very decent for its location and quality, I mean come on its Hyde Park are you expecting brick lane price here? Verdict: I am in love with this place and will continue to be till it stands tall and beautiful in the middle of Hyde Park! P.S Do try their cakes, they are delicious! read more

I have known this restaurant for about 30 years and it has changed so often during this time. However, it always was a nice place to have drink or snak in a nice atmosphere. Breakfast can be enjoyed in a very relaxed and silent atmosphere. In principal, the food ist good. However, it was not possible to have an ordinary toast (only toasted Italian ciabattabread was available). Anyway, I prefer this location and food to the usual breakfasts in hotels. read more

On the eve of Queen Elizabeth II's 90th birthday, I found myself enjoying a romantic second date in the picturesque, centuries old, Hyde Park. After my barrel-o-laughs Brazilian beau and I spent a good amount of time soaking up vitamin D from an uncharacteristically sunny day, we set out on an excursion to diffuse our hunger pains. Tucked away in the rolling green hillside was none other than Serpentine Bar and Kitchen. Instantly familiar with the site, my guy informed me that he'd once visited Serpentine with his mom. Nearly faint from starvation, we decided to dine in. I was initially impressed with the overall structure of the building. The inconspicuous architectural design, which almost appears to have been chiseled from the lakeside by process of mechanical erosion, can best be described as an aesthetically pleasing contemporary chameleon. Spacious enough to accommodate hundreds of visitors, Serpentine offers 360 degree views of Hyde Park for indoor diners. Lunch al fresco immerses guests in a sea of bluebells, as well as a variety of trademark British foliage and landscapes. After placing our orders, my guy and I waited for our server at table number 3. (Tables are numbered, which reduces confusion for patrons and staff alike) I was satisfied with my choice of thin crust vegetable pizza with rosemary fries. I went out on a limb and decided to wash everything down with my very first ginger beer. While recovering from Fentimans unrelenting roundhouse kick, I sat and enjoyed my beau savour every morsel of his open faced steak sandwich and more than a few of my rosemary fries. Overall, Id highly recommend a meal at Serpentine to anyone who finds themselves in Hyde park in the near or distant future. read more

Pleasantly surprised by the freshness of the pre packed baguette with salmon and cucumber. Enough salmon to actually call it a salmon baguette (guess you know what I mean). The people at the pay desk were a bit stressed out even though it wasn't busy and weren't very friendly, save one. Sitting outside overlooking the lake only makes it sandwich better. And the strawberries and cream were a right treat! On my way from the outside terrace back to the Underground I had a quick glance at the pizzas on other people's plates, didn't look so nice, but we all know looks can be deceiving so I leave it up to you to try. read more

This place was really a nice environment to spend a summer day. The selections were varied and seemed fresh. The layout was really nice and not too crowded considering it was a Saturday in the summer. There were selections for the kids and coffee for tired adults. The prices were not at all out of line with what one expects from London. £1.50 for a can of coke... seriously? Your gelato was more reasonably priced at £2.95 for two scoops. But it was boring, lacked real flavour and I question why you feel the need to mix hazelnut and toffee crunch. That's just wrong. It was also far too melty... the end. read more

I suggest as a tourist you should avoid this place at all cost! The food is below mediocre with overpriced menu. And out of all that, the worst experience is the customer service that we received. Waited 30 minutes after we placed an order we had to ask the waiter about our order. He takes the receipts and brings back two order out of three (did not taste good at all) and then we had to wait another 15 to 20 minutes to receive our final order after asking them for the 2nd time. We felt as everyone's order came before us even though we been here longer. Lastly, the utensil were not clean and it seems like they were very clumsy and came off rude. read more

Fairly bog-standard trying-to-be-something-else place. You go here if you want a coffee or a slice of cake in the park. Or dinner, I suppose. But it's really best avoided. The coffee is OK at best. (Also, for some reason a flat white is cheaper than an Americano, despite the extra work that goes into it) They've an ill-though-out queueing system so they've got to tell everyone where to queue; this overworks the service folk so much they can't offer good service, and this results as at best mediocre food and service. Also, all too often, cold coffee. Misheard orders. I hear the cakes are nice, though. And they do have the bit where you can sit and look at the Serpentine. read more

While I would recommend grabbing some drinks or coffee with friends or by yourself to enjoy the beautiful scenery in this restaurant patio, I would not recommend getting a full meal here. After a leisurely walk around Hyde Park, the Serpentine is waiting for a snack, some wine, and to take your money. My friends and I went with the personal pizzas which ranged from around 8 to 12 pounds. Fortunately, we realized that the pizzas were pretty large for just one person and ended up splitting them to save some money. Like the previous review, I agree that the drinks were overpriced: sodas, wines, and beers. I give the Serpentine, three stars though because of the atmosphere. The restaurant has a great view of the lake and park. Inside, the different chairs are covered in pillows, center around a fireplace, and there is outdoor seating. Though one trip to the tourist trap is enough, if you happen to be in the park and want some lunch go for it. read more

I came here for a little weekend pick-me-up with a nice lunch within the serene atmosphere of Hyde Park. I ordered the fish finger buttie, chips, and a florentine for dessert. Nothing better than a pint in a garden in Hyde Park on a lovely Sunday afternoon. It was very crowded but we still secured a picnic table all our own, near the water. A pint of beer and a pint of cider was £8. It reminded me a lot of dining at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, overlooking the fountains.
