We put a deposit down on a 2026 truck & then it was SOLD out from under us!!! The best part???! So how did we find out???? When a check came in the mail giving us our deposit back!!! No word from sales/finance/owner lol. NOTHING. NO ONE said a word to us and we were planning on finalizing this weekend! Before you ask, yes, they knew when we would be purchasing and were fine with it as long as we made the deposit....OBVIOUSLY NOT!! HORRIBLE customer service!! Btw, the salesman originally showed us a truck that was brand new and yet had a dented bumper and scuffed paint and a noise coming from the vent when you turn on the heat. When we brought it up the man was not even aware of the issues and said they'd "fix them"--whom in their right mind would buy a brand new car or truck that is damaged and needs to be fixed?! What?!?! No, we expect them to be in perfect condition, they're NEW!!! Would he not think to look at the truck--I'm sure glad we did! Do their cars and trucks not go through an inspection when they're received before going into inventory?! Would you trust someone or a company who was trying to pull a fast one on you?! I purchased a used Cadillac XTS from Serra Buick GMC Cadillac. This purchase was via the internet, sight unseen. Requesting information, Ken Wozniak reached out to me. Ken was able to send me loads of photos. Satisfied what I saw, I informed Ken I was interested in purchasing the Cadillac. I place a down payment via my AMEX. While the car was being prepped, I requested a front license plate bracket. Illinois requires two plates. Serra took care of that for me. After the XTS was prepped for delivery, I took a five-hour drive to pick it up. First time I saw the car, was when it was sitting up front waiting for me. As I was looking at the car, Ken greeted and assumed it was me. After chatting, we stepped into his office and finalized the paperwork. Everything went smooth. One guy wearing a nice Cadillac jacket looked out of the window and i had seen two other sales people sitting in their offices with no customers. I would never buy a used car or have service done here at this dealership ever again! They sold me a nightmare! From day 1, nothing but issues. I should have trusted my gut. We were lied to about the warranty we purchased and they didn't make it right like they should have. The timing had to be fixed right after I purchased the vehicle and nothing but issues after that. Engine light after engine light. I always brought it in and always had it maintained and serviced there. Last issue was driving 55 mph down the road and the car would shut off. Talk about a safety issue!! Brought it in with timing to be replaced again and the tech said I had a seized engine? Shop before it said it was timing also. The car started, drove and was quiet. I had it towed in because of the safety issue. They tore down my car and decided it wasn't timing. (which was still under warranty) I picked up my car via tow truck. They had me give them 24hrs to zip up my car and have a small bag in the car which I was not happy about. Upon receipt of vehicle, they did not do what they said. My car was still torn apart with rags stuff in the engine compartments, huge box of car parts plus additional car parts in my car. Battery displaced, stuff everywere and the tech left his drill in my car. Shame on you! Shame on this dealer, shame on Gm for not taking care fo their customers and selling a nightmare!!! This review is for oil changes. My mom has been going to the kia door for years and has been charged $18 for an oil change. We went once and got charged $18. We were happy with our experience. When we went in for another oil change, they were no longer taking cars at kia. It was only on the gmc side. We were not aware of this change, and we showed them our receipt. They did our oil change and charged us $26... charging us more for "labor" section. I was a bit upset because I was not expecting that high of a charge. They did not tell us about this new charge, even though we clearly told them we were confused about the switch and showed them our previous payment. I think they could have handled it better. The oil change says 3/15/18 is the next date. Well we are a whole month earlier! The man at the oil change today said we have no oil left and that there was a leak. We took our Yukon in last week due to the Service Suspension Light being on. They were up front with the charge for diagnosing the problem ($60) and that would be waived if they found an issue that we agreed to let them fix. I received a call from them stating that they found the issue and the rear suspension air compressor was bad. They repaired 2 wires but said that the compressor still was not working. They said that we needed a new one and the cost would be $860.00 all said and done. Mind you that our vehicle has only 67,000 miles on it and we just purchased it used from them, along with an extended warranty that was recommended by our salesman, in November 2018. My husband specifically asked the salesman if this part would be covered under the warranty that we purchased and he said yes. This exact part failed us on our 2008 Yukon but not until 145,000 miles. So, we went with the extended warranty. Well, after finding out that the compressor on our current vehicle was said to be bad even after the wire repairs, we also found out that our warranty does not cover this part! Oil change, tire rotation, telling me the compressor is "bad" and looking at a whistling sound in the steering wheel that they said was nothing = $170.00. Expensive oil change and tire rotation if you ask me. I declined proceeding any further and decided to take our Yukon for a second opinion on the compressor to a local auto repair shop near my house. After the local place looked at our vehicle, they called and said that one out of the two wires that were supposedly repaired by the dealership were terribly done and they had to redo it along with several other wire repairs that were not addressed by the mechanics at Serra. And after those were done....our compressor worked just fine! I have pictures and the actual wires of the botched job that was completed by the mechanics at Serra GMC (see below). A teenager would do a better job at splicing wires together than whoever did it to my vehicle. SO besides having to pay Serra for a job that was not completed the way it should and them being completely dishonest about my car needing a $860 part that is working just fine if they knew how to complete the wiring correctly, and then paying the local auto shop to fix their mess, I will never ever return to Serra for service and I also will be sure to spread the word on how they will try to get people to replace expensive parts on their cars when it is just a simple repair that needs to be done (that they can't even do correctly). Thank you for wasting my money and time and for being so dishonest to your customers. Especially since the last 2 cars we purchased were from Serra. GM should be ashamed that they have a dealership like this one who attempts to take advantage of their customers by wanting to replace costly parts that are in good working condition and can't do a simple repair to fix that part. UPDATE: The dealership bent over backwards to make me happy. They allowed me to exchange the vehicle for another on the lot... applying the full sale price of my old vehicle toward the new one. I am out some money (made a payment toward the old vehicle), but I did drive it for over a month - so I won't complain about that. They reduced the price of the vehicle for me, got me a reasonable interest rate, applied the money I paid on repairs from the previous vehicle toward the new one and the sales person (Amanda) and financing guy (Joe) stayed late to get the deal taken care of. Overall I am happy about the deal. I know things happen with used vehicles and it just seems that things kept going wrong with the Dodge Journey. Fingers crossed my experience with my new vehicle (GMC Terrain) is a lot better. This dealership is busy and you might find your self waiting around sometimes, but it is worth the wait... they will treat you right! PREVIOUS REVIEW: My wife purchased her van here a few years back and they were great on fixing up a few issues that needed to be done before we purchased it. I went here to look at/purchase a vehicle since they were so good to us last time and sold us a good working vehicle. Well, I found a 2009 Dodge Journey on the lot that had a lot of what I was looking for. Since owning it, I think it has been at the dealership more than I have actually been able to drive it. They covered the deductible last time which I appreciated. This time they are not covering the deductible, instead they are charging me money to fix a plugged heater core on a vehicle that I have owned for less than one month. I haven't even made my first payment on it. On top of that I have to deal with a squeaking vehicle since the warranty company says that's normal. Apparently the compressor is starting to fail on the vehicle, but they won't cover it until it completely fails... I was assured this would be fixed when I purchased the vehicle. I got rid of my last vehicle because of some issues it was having and now I bought a vehicle with issues and was talked into a warranty that won't fix the issue... Wonderful. read more

Well after my first review I was contacted by my salesperson Steve Wehby yelled at me for posting an HONEST review. After he settled down he promised me if I removed the review they would give me a plan of resolution in writing that day. I never heard from him or his manager(Bob Davidson) that day. In fact 3 days later Steve asked if I had heard from his manager. Of which I had not heard from him at that point and not until the next day. Seems like they just don't have time for me. I have spoken with Bob and he is telling me they will need to charge me for replacing the car. Steve told me there would be no charge...hmmmmm? This sounds bad. However it's been almost a month and no car. I emailed Bob Davidson on 7/28 and Steve Wehby on 8/1 and as of this time neither has responded to my emails. I am shocked by this, but will post this next on all the sites so that all of you know they way that Serra deals with their policies. And it looks like I will need to engage the BBB and possibly an attorney. I truly have tried to be understanding and work with them as I know things happen, but after 2 1/2 months and several emails that have not been followed up on I think this needs to be resolved. Just tried to find my post on their website and they removed it. Doesnt seem like good integrity to remove your bad ratings and just leave your good ones. Horrible customer service. Took truck on on 3/2 for an oil change, rotate tires, service on rear shocks, and front-end alignment. Dealer only finished oil change and tire rotation after first 7 hours. Uncle Eds can do that n 20 minutes. They gave me a loaner which was nice. Called me next day to inform me my rear shock replacement would be $1400!!!!! Dealer tried telling me they were special OEM shocks. I found exact OEM shocks for $289 each. Dealer wanted $520 each. Dealer also wanted $245 for labor which they said was 2.0 hours. Exact labor repair time is actually 1.6 so they round up. I have bought several vehicles there but I refused to be ripped off. I told them I would go elsewhere. Found an independent shop to do it all for under $400. Serra has lost me as a customers for life. Greedy business. read more

Too often, we only write reviews when something negative occurs or when we're pissed off. But I can't say enough good things about the sales folks at Serra Buick in Washington Township. Nine months after purchasing my used truck, water stains began to appear on the headliner. After further inspection, it was determined that the roof had been crushed in and completely replaced. The welds and rear window installation were poorly done, causing the leaking. Neither Serra or myself could have known about the damaged roof as there were no signs at the time of purchase or even months later. Nothing showed up on the CarFax either. I'll be completely honest, when I called to see if Serra would cover some of the costs, I wasn't exactly holding my breath. But after explaining the situation to my sales guy Brad and the sales manager (?) Bob, they immediately agreed to cover most of the body work costs. As a result, they have a customer for life! I applaud their professionalism and ethics when they could have easily said "not our problem." Thank you again, fellas! read more

I found a certified pre-owned car online that was located at this dealer. I called in advance to confirm the car was available and ask if there was anything I should know about the car before driving the considerable distance to this dealer. The sales person assured me the car was immaculate and he held the car for me. Upon arrival, I found the car with windows wide open (it was 20 degrees outside). The passenger side door was damaged (and caught on the front bumper when you open the door, making a horrible popping noise. The car wreaked of smoke (presumably why the sales guy had all the windows open?) They were too busy to really help me find anything else on their lot, had limited inventory and then inquired if I would like to "lease a brand new vehicle." This review is for the service department. I cannot say how deeply disappointed in the service department at Serra. We have bought our last 5 cars from this dealership. We took our 2016 GMC Yukon in 4 days ago for service because the "Service Engine" light came on in the car. We dropped the car off on Monday morning and we still have not heard back from the service representative with the diagnostics on the car. We have called everyday for 4 days and have only received one return call, and it was from our sales representative. We were not offered a loaner car at all. This will be the last time we buy a car from Serra and we certainly won't be using the service department ever again. read more

I seriously can't say enough about how wonderful my experience was with this dealership. I was in the market for a low mileage Hyundai Elantra Touring- an awesome little wagon that was perfect for me, that of course is no longer being manufactured. I was really nervous about getting a new car, since I was firmly attached to my old 2003 Honda Civic. However, the Civic was used and abused (I used to work in Highland Park, and the Civic suffered a lot from the daily trek), and definitely didn't work for me anymore. I started my search and found a great car at the Suburban Group in Troy- however, I had the WORST experience dealing with them, and started hunting for another version. Hence, finding Serra Buick and driving out to the Romeo area to check out the used car. The sales team at the dealership didn't act like your stereotypical car sales guys- they were personable, helpful, and straightforward on their pricing. I worked (briefly) at a car dealership, and I know the horrible tactics they use- Serra Buick didn't try any of that garbage with me, which was a welcome relief after the Suburban Group experience. They went above and beyond to get me reasonable financing on a used vehicle, and to give me a great trade in amount on my Civic. At no point did I feel pressured, rushed, tricked, or negative in any way- a far cry from every other dealership experience I've ever had. All in, I committed to buying a car the same day I went to inspect it because of the overall great experience. This dealership and the sales team earned my business ten times over, and will be the first place I look when I'm in the market for another vehicle (probably in another 10 years, with my track record). Oh, and as a bonus? They sent me a tin of super-tasty cookies after the purchase, as well as a thank you letter. Well lets see, yep 5 stars! And many thanks to Brandon the sales consultant at Kia. My brother was in the market for a newer suv awd. Probably because I have one. He has been showing interest to get one for himself. I found him a few Kia Sorentos in awd on cargurus.com and of the 6 dealers only this one called him back to offer a 2011 Kia Sorento awd. Good for them to followup on an internet enquiry. Their gain the others loss. My brother went over yesterday and checked out the vehicle and immediately loved it. He called me up last night and asked me to take a look as well. So I drove the 65 miles out to Washington MI to take a look. I get there and thank God it snowed the night before making it perfect to test drive an awd vehicle. The Kia ran great although I was not that impressed with the awd ness. Specially when I went into a skid. My Pacifica awd don't do that. She holds the ground great. They wouldn't get talked down so we are getting it at $19K but it comes with a 10 yr powertrain warranty and 100000 miles. Not bad for a second hand car. Above all my bro is happy that he gets an awd suv. Brandon tells me they are a secratary of state cert dealer so we dont have to go get the plates changed over. All will be done tonight.
