The sales person, Bubba, seemed impatient and was a little rude towards the end as if I were wasting his time with my questions. The manager came by at the end and thanked me for stopping by. The worst car buying experience I ever had. They were so focused on getting my trade that they didn't tell me that I had a whopping $7,000 of negative equity. Now when I try to trade my vehicle in I have $20,000 of negative equity. Tried to talk to the manager and I see where his employees get their mannerisms from. I bought a used Honda Civic from them across state. The whole process was tedious but we traveled 6 hours there and stayed the night to drive the car home the next morning. The staff was super kind and worked really hard to have everything ready so we could be in and out. With pre-approval we did every thing over the phone before hand and they had us out in an hour! Horrible service. My husband was talking to a salesman, Andrew l, all day discussing a truck. He went to get pre approved and told Andrew we were coming that afternoon. We texted him whenever we were on the way and no response, got to the dealership and they sold the truck without even mentioning to us so we didn't have to drive an hour out of our way. Then the salesman couldn't even be a man and talk to us, he hid in the back to let his manager tell us. I bought a van on the week before thanksgiving not even a week later the check engine light came on. They claimed they had done a complete service on the van. Took it back to them and they wanted to charge me 200 dollars just to look at it. I told them the app said a misfire in cylinder 2. Claimed that because I didn't purchase the extended warranty was nothing they could do. I took it to a local mechanic shop who said it needed new spark plugs . Called Serra to inform them and they claimed that sometime things happen when you leave the lot and still saying they won't do anything. I normally don't leave reviews but Lacey in the service department answered the phone extremely rudely when I called to schedule an appointment for my husband, she told me they were booked up for August, which I understand, but DIDN'T even offer anything for September, and stated that we could come in on Saturday between 8-1 and they MAY be able to squeeze us in... My husband decided to call back and see if he could get in for an appointment in September but they rudely again was like "we already spoke with your wife and told her that we could try and get you as a walk in on Saturday but it's no guarantee". I have to say that this is my first review ever. I felt it important to say that I will never visit another serra dealership. The dealership in Gardendale charged me for pulse which was never installed. I payed 300 dollars for nothing. they put two new tires on the vehicle I purchased and didn't put the pressure sensors back in. Now I have to pay another 300 to have them installed. Most of the cars I looked at were dirty. Manager finally called me back after numerous emails and texts and acted concerned. "I will help with the pulse system, but you bought the car as is so we can't do anything about the tires." I got burned, hopefully someone will read this and think twice about going to a serra dealership. read more

It was a terrible experience. They essentially sold me a defective car. The 2020 model had two holes in the oil gasket, an ill-fitting air box, and only one working speaker. I later discovered the radio's receiver was also faulty, necessitating a new radio, and the SD card was missing. I requested GAP insurance, which they declined to sell to me, and the warranty they sold me covered none of these issues. After speaking with the dealership to rectify the situation since I had only owned the car for two weeks, I talked to the manager who showed me the report. It listed all the unresolved issues. He consented to repair the air box and speakers at a discounted rate. However, upon arrival at the service department, the manager denied any verbal agreement to fix the speakers. He did offer to provide an SD card for the car if I retracted my negative review. In the store, under the watchful eyes of employees, I removed the review and was then handed an SD card that was incompatible with the car. I advise against purchasing a car from this dealership. I have purchased five cars in the past five years.It was the most terrible experience I've ever encountered. read more

Scheduled a recall for my vehicle and made arrangements to be picked up to allow time to service, I was called and told they didn't have a part and would have to reschedule after leaving my car with them. Once I reschedule I was called again 20 mins before my appointment that their systems were down and I would have to reschedule again (which I get) but the total disregard I have felt from my last few encounters with this location I will not be back. This is a service they don't complete on the weekends so I'm supposed to take off work a second time for something to probably go wrong. read more

Gave one star only because there is no negative rating possible! This has been the WORST car buying experience of our lives. We always purchase new cars. This time we chose the 2020 Kia Telluride. We did our research ahead of time and knew we wanted one. Unusual circumstances necessitated the purchase in Alabama rather than in our home state of Indiana. My sales person was wonderful!! Although I was "passed off" to her because the man thought I was a stupid woman who was a waste of his time, she was friendly and knowledgeable. I wanted the one and only Telluride on the lot and told her I'd take it with a a sizable down payment. The finance people took over an hour to greet me after the application was approved. They finally showed me the numbers and I chose the lease. It another was 2 hours before they came back with lower payments after the trade in was figured in. I was there over 5 hours. Finally they said they would mail the paperwork since I needed to get on the road. It had to be redone twice. It's been 2 months and I STILL DON'T HAVE MY PLATES because they haven't sent in the proper paperwork!!!!!!! Do not do business with these people! Drive a few miles and find another Kia Dealership. I have a 2016 Certified Preowned Kia K900. This car is supposed to be the flagship of the Kia lineup. Quick Details... Purchased Jan 25th 2019 from Bulldog Kia Athens Ga 15k miles currently (9/03/19) has 29K miles. Had a problem in June 2019 with Drivers power seat sliding back. Slid seat forward to clean rear (did not slide all the way forward). The seat would not slide back immediately. Attempted to slide back over course of 15 mins before seat would slide back allowing me to get in and drive (I am 6'7" Legit). Took care to GARDENDALE KIA to Service Writer Gary on Monday June 10Th. I was provided a loaner of a Kia Optima (significantly smaller than my car) per the platform on which Kia is attempting to place the K900. It is apparent to me that the dealers service depts DO NOT CARE to service entry level HIGH END cars or their Owners. GARDENDALE KIA kept my car for the remainder of June and I was not able to pick my car up until Tuesday July 9th. Spoke with General Manager on Tuesday 9/3/19 to explain my situation. When I asked was he the General Manager (when he picked up the extension he did not identify himself as the GM) he sounded perhaps preoccupied, distracted or hesitated when I inquired as to his position with the dealership. I then asked was he sure... this seemed to annoy the person on the phone. After explaining the details (described above) I asked were they a Certified K900 dealer to which I Heard what I would call a hesitation in his reply to which I again asked "are you sure" To which his response was "yes I am sure... I have a new one on the floor... you cant have one if you aren't ". M y response was "ok". He then stated "You are welcome to take your car to another dealer". His invitation to do so was stated a minimum of 3 times. I stated " I Will... and I See why things weren't handled more expeditiously and with more Courtesy when I was there in June. My salesman, Joey Bibb was VERY knowledgeable and notified me immediately when a model was arriving that I was interested in... when we realized the top of the line model was actually in my price range, he and his manager worked hard to give me the best deal and I walked off of the lot with my Telluride that same night. Absolute garbage! We bought our 2020 Kia Soul from Serra Kia Gardendale last year before the pandemic and lockdown started. Out of that time we had our car in the shop MORE than on the road. It was cheaply made and has already had a recall on it. It was in the shop for 3 MONTHS while still paying a car payment and never reimbursed for that time. Here we are AGAIN in the shop because my AC went out and I was told on the phone that AFTER I made my appointment that "people have it worse than I do" because my AC was out! That has NOTHING to do with anything! All I wanted was to get my car fixed! They also told me that my AC went out because the hose was wearing out, IT SHOULDN'T BE WORN OUT IT IS A BRAND NEW CAR! I was also told since the car is "damaged" through my fault that it is NOT under warranty. Well if Kia didn't make cheaply made cars then I wouldn't be in this situation! Also the 2 men that they have working their service desk are sexist! I called them back because I received a missed call from them and they told me that they already had my husband on the phone and I told them, "Well whatever you are telling him, you can go ahead and already tell me." And then instantly HUNG UP! They called me back AGAIN and said, " Oh I'm sorry I meant to call your husband." And HUNG UP ON ME AGAIN. Absolutely unprofessional and trash cars. I was looking for a replacement or new type car unfortunately due to losing my car when a driver ran a stop sign totaling a car was really liked. But once everything was resolved by the insurance company I went over to Sierra Kia. They made the experience pleasant. They listened to me didn't try to sell me a car I did not want or could not afford. Also, they did something that another local car dealership did not which was not automatically try to sell me a car that was at my maximum payment. There was no pressure and the sales men Gary Travis was very cordial and understanding. Also, the Financing Department was extremely nice and did their best to get me into a car. What really impressed me was the fact that I was able to take the car the same day despite not having my deposit check with me because I was waiting for the settlement check to come in. Even though I did not take the car until the following week that was my choice. Another dealership wanted a copy of my credit card even though I was just looking and I didn't really want it to buy a car yet. The over all process went really well and they were very accommodating. After we agreed on a price and the things to be done for us to purchase the car, like a 5 year 50,000 mile warrant, Gap coverage, repair rear seat, and other things that we had on the "we owe" sheet going into the finance department they charged us for the warranty and gap coverage anywa. Then after many attempts to contact them by phone, email, and website no one would respon. even when we went to pick up the car afterwords the only one to talk to us was the receptionist which didn't know anything or direc us to anyone cause the sales team that sold us the car, none of them were to be found or were around. Come to find out the car had water damage, rust, mold, and leaked like crazy. When I called and left messages, they were never returned. I ended up going to another car dealership who more than went out of their way to help me. I do not like Kasey and I think he is a detriment to your company. He needs to go. Besides the terrible car I got, he is another reason I will never use this dealer again. Before buying ANYTHING here, take it to a respectable mechanic and get EVERYTHING checked out before buying. I am a fan of asking a lot of questions so I was sure that this process would be long, drawn out, boring, and never ending. As a first time owner, I did not know what to expect buying my own car. I felt more at ease knowing that Luckie wanted to find me something in my price range and something that I would make my investment worth investing. Luckie sat me down and listened intently to what I wanted not what he wanted to sell for me. From working with me to make sure I was happy and nothing leas, Luckie went above and beyond. I purchased a used Dodge Durango on a Saturday. It started raining that afternoon and the wipers wouldn't work. It was downhill from there. The headlight wouldn't work. The vehicle had a bad vibration at 85. I realized the vehicle was suppose to have remote start but the only remote was not a factory remote and didn't even have a key in it. I took this vehicle back and they said they would fix issues. They kept it a week and the only thing different was there was a key now. At this point, I was not going to keep this vehicle and wanted to know my options. I was told pick you have 2 days to pick something from the lot or else you're stuck with the Durango. Reluctantly, I chose a Chrysler 300S. I purchase it on a Saturday morning, took it home and that night when going out for dinner the check engine light comes on. I take it back Monday to have them look at it. They tell me it's an emissions code coming up. They also tell me it's my problem because their cars are sold as is. So the moral of this review is - go buy a used car from somewhere that certifies what they sell. This is not good business by any means. This dealership is taking trades and buying cars from auction without doing a basic inspection of any kind and putting them on the lot. We went here to buy a car. Initially, we had a good experience with our salesperson, Sean, and a less than satisfactory experience with the Finance Manager, Kasey. I am not sure if Kasey is sexist or if his rudeness knows no boundaries, but his unprofessional behavior was unacceptable, to say the least. He was rude, talked over me rather than to me, tried to talk me in circles, and then eventually just lied to me. He lied about the financing and then lied to me about what I was signing. The car I traded in was not paid off in a timely manner and I was risking being reported to the credit bureau. After being told for two weeks that a check had been sent, when I asked for the check number, it was MyStErIoUsLy discovered that a check was never sent. Shocking, I know. Now I am going back and forth trying to get the late charges covered since the payoff wasn't paid in a timely fashion. With this, I am catching attitude from everyone at this dealership (except the receptionists - they have always been polite). I have been trying to get the GM to call me and he just keeps sending others to return my call. Avoidance, I assure you, is not a great course of action. Buyers, save yourselves. Don't even bother with this place. We should have known better when there were only two customers on a Saturday afternoon that something wasn't right. read more

I was shopping for an SUV & just sent a simple email inquiry to this dealership asking if the vehicle was available or not. They replied to inform me that the vehicle I was asking about had been sold, but that they would love to answer any questions I had. When I didn't respond to that email that day, I received no less than 3 more emails and at least 5 phone calls. I finally answered the phone (albeit by accident) and spoke with a salesman there who I won't name because they're all the same. I begrudgingly set up an appointment to test drive the car so I could get off the phone. When I arrived, they directed me to the wrong person of the same name & eventually met the correct person in the lot outside. I told him I wanted options a,b & c, so he shows me a new model of that vehicle with those specifications & we drove it. GREAT CAR. He also took the time to tell me about someone he "shot the ****" with while we were out & about. He had no real knowledge of any of the vehicles, options or engines, had little to no knowledge about the technology in the vehicle & even continued to try to sell it to me when I emphasized several times that I would not buy the vehicle if it wasn't all wheel drive. When I asked how much it was, it was at least $13,000 more than the vehicle I asked about or what was in my price range. Unfortunately, it was the only thing even close to the best of his knowledge. I guess I just looked extra stupid today. When he pulled out his cheat sheet to check on another model, I saw exactly what I wanted in that model & it was in my price range. A white Kia Optima sx for 19 & some change. He never even mentioned it, much less let me see it. He still proceeded to apply me for a loan for the original vehicle I drove when I just asked what the payments would look like. When I didn't get approved (I told him I didn't have much established credit first thing) he then began speaking to me like I was dumb & poor. Like he was teaching me some dad-like financial lesson. I'm not rich or anything, but I'm definitely not poor. I just never thought it was wise to have credit cards. I didn't have any intention of purchasing that car in the first place & I made that clear several times, but as we were walking across the parking lot, he told me with no prompting what it was on my credit report that was keeping me from being able to purchase the vehicle well within earshot of other customers there. He then drove me (yes, he drove) to the back of the lot next door behind the "detail shop" & showed me an older, stripped down version of what I test drove sitting next to all the very apparently broken down cars, some with hoods open & engines in various stages of disassembly. I told him I had to be back at work, but that we could keep looking another time. I then realized that they still had my car key from appraising my current car (which they never informed me the value of) & asked for it back. Instead of getting my key & letting me leave, he takes me to his manager who gives me the same "you're dumb & poor" speech. It then takes an additional 15 minutes to find my key causing me to be late for my own meeting that I called. I couldn't even get back to work without getting a text from these clingy ex-girlfriend level car salesmen telling me he'll call first thing Monday morning. I'm sure you will. I won't be back. After spending 7 hours there and driving cars I was told I was approved for, they came back with payments over $100 I told them I could afford. I said no, I can't afford that so take me back home. He said I can't, I have a meeting in 30 minutes. I was sitting outside crying with no one to come get me for a while. Guess where he was? Sitting in his office, no meeting just lies.
