I hghly recoomend this dealership if you are looking to purchase a new car. Tony and David were easy to deal with in the process. I was pleased from my very first contact with them via email. My questions were answered within a reasonable period. While their online price was the same as all other dealers I checked, they did not have excessive junk fees. Anything closely described as Dealer Prep Fee is merely income to the dealership with no commission paid to the sales staff. $400 is reasonable in my view. Other dealerships I checked had $700 and even $1100 just for that line item. My trade in was valuated at the KBB value that I had researched prior to my purchase. And, they handled my key back after viewing my vehicle. It was worth my 110 mile drive to their dealership. 1. Is the lowest I could give. They deserve a 0. Absolutely the WORST Customer Service experience I've ever had. I will NEVER take my car there again. EVER! As a matter of fact. I'll never do any business there because of this experience. They lack customer service and accountability. My car went into Dewey Barber for repairs on 7/21/23.. my car was not completed until 9/1/23. It likely wouldn't have been finished then had I not sat the situation in the service managers (Daniel) lap. The guy I had been dealing with from the beginning was (Marcus), not sure of his title. He works in the service department also. I kept going around in circles with him and was finally fed up and that's when I asked to speak to someone else. The entire time my car was in for repairs. He (Marcus) called me ONCE with an update and that's because I expressed frustration and made it clear I needed my vehicle. I would call at least once a week after the initial (about a week) estimate had passed with ZERO communication. This was an insurance repair and Marcus had absolutely No contact with my adjuster at all as far as repair costs went. I provided all the necessary info and the ball was dropped. Then the blame was shifted to the body shop which was someone Dewey Barber was dealing with. I never had any interaction with the body shop, so if there was an issue with them. It was never relayed to me, until I expressed my disdain in relation to the communication and amount of time my vehicle was there for repairs. I mean every single call was (a couple days). Then I week later I call and still no update. I was driving a rental car for well over a month. After my insurance reimbursement. I'm out almost $1k for a rental. Due to them dragging their feet. Not only that. I was also told there was an additional repair needed. A "poppin" noise. I drive that car daily it's a 2013 Chevy Malibu with over 160k miles. I've had ZERO major repairs on this car and I keep it serviced . I never heard any popping. I'm uncertain if that came after the repairs or what, but that was an additional $1600 out of pocket for repairs. I wouldn't taken it elsewhere, but it was already there and I was assured it would be completed next day. Which it was in this case. So overall I spend almost $3k outside of my insurance claim for a terrible experience & example of customer service from a business that quite frankly shouldn't be operating. ALSO! I was charged a fee for using a credit card to pay for my repairs. No mention of that prior to me setting up my pickup. When I question the fee. The person at the service desk points to a sign. How was I supposed to a see a sign from home? I caught an Uber to pickup my vehicle and this was my first trip there since my car was towed for repairs. So the fee for a credit card was new to me. Had I known it cost extra money to pay for service with a card. I could've brought cash. Very different experience for me. Ultimately, I'd never recommend them to anyone. Stay clear. They talk good, but lack execution. Zero Stars is what I wish I could leave. There's more I could write about this experience, but I think it's clear I wasn't happy. Services rendered: Replacement Hood with paint, New Air Filter, new battery, new air filter hose. Wasn't like I had a major crash and my car needed a fully body repair. read more

I brought my 2011 Chevy Tahoe here on Tuesday because the ABS light and the Service Traction Control/Stabilizer sensor kept flashing across my dashboard. On the 3rd day, I received a call from Jeremy stating that the lights were not on. I advised Jeremy that he has to attempt to put it in gear before the ABS light and the Service Traction Control/Stabilizer would show on the dashboard. Jeremy called me back after some time and indicated that he dont know why the ABS light and the Service Traction Control/Stabilizer sensor are on. This concerned me, so I called the Store manager who turned out to be the Scott Barber, one of the owners. I explained my concern and that I am under the impression that if the sensor and lights are on; you should be able to put it on the "chevy machine" and diagnose the issue. Scott responded in a very demeaning voice and says that your truck has a oil leak and it needs a motor mount and before they could tell me why the ABS light and Service Traction Control/Stabilizer sensor were on; I need to pay for the motor mount; then it would be another diagnostic fee after the motor mount was fixed to diagnose the ABS issue. Remind you, this is THE OWNER! Scott was very condescending and extremely defensive. I was ANGRY! I told Scott not to do any work on my truck and that I am coming to get it. Just think I was looking to purchase a brand new Chevy 2023 Tahoe from Dewey in the next 5 or 6 months, if they had fixed my issue with the 2011 Tahoe. SHAME ON YOU, Scott! I was going to buy a car here but unfortunately it did not work out the only thing that really bothered me about this place was I told them what my maximum amount that I wanted to pay each month. What they did was they automatically tried to sell me a car that was over my max payment. This really turned me off from buying a car here. After doing an extensive search, I found it at Dewey Barber Chevrolet in Gardendale, Al. and I live in Oceanside, Ca. Talked to Hoyt in parts and he looked it up and had two, but needed to make sure it was the right color. He went to the back and checked it out and he said was a sandy color which sounded right, but to be sure, he took a few pictures and emailed them to me. Exact color I needed. This finance manager will argue with you about what you can and can not get even if you know exactly what you qualify for because it's not the first time you've purchased a vehicle at the end of the year! They will not even give you the courtesy of calling you to let you know one way or the other if they can work the deal out either!! If I could give them zero stars I would! Nice down payment help on a car. Went to cash in showed the mail out to a nice young girl. She verified the numbers and that they were indeed connected to winning the 2500. Then the bomb, tho it stated I won 2500 dollars we had to check out the bar code as that really was what I won. Bait and switch at its worse. Went to look at a truck. Spent 20 minutes in the parking lot and was never greeted walking all over. Finally walked inside to several dead stares hoping I wouldnt ask for help. Finally I was headed out the door because I didn't get a good vibe and the person next to the door asked if I needed something, I said help with a truck. We walk to the outer limits to look at a 70k truck. I looked it over while he didn't say a word, I cranked it and it was out of diesel. I wanted to drive it but it was beyond empty. Before I could look under the hook the salesman locked the truck and said the only station for fuel is all the way over in morris. I guess I'll try and different dealer. Just for the heck of it I emailed them about the truck. Another one of their people sent me a price on the truck 3 grand higher than their advertised price plus tax doc and title. I bought a low mileage Cadillac from Dewey Barber and was told it had been checked out and everything was good. I was told tires had a lot of miles left so I would be in good shape there. Trusting the salesman I did not check to see if what I was being told was the truth.. My mistake. The first issue was: The QUE (control panel screen) did not work. I called the salesman and was told to take it to Crest Cadillac which I did. The QUE was replaced after driving the car for a week. I was told at that time the tires were due to be changed. The Cadillac dealership representative stated " I would not let my mother take a trip to Gulf Shores on those tires". They also told me I needed a front end alignment. I ended up spending over $1,000 that day. Last Friday when I left work the car wouldn't start. The battery was dead!! which resulted in my staying in my office until approximately 7:00 (2 hours alone) until roadside assistance from Cadillac came to replace the battery. I called Dewey Barber and expressed my concerns to the salesman Tony Romano and was assured he would bring my concerns to the weekly sales meeting and could expect a call from Scott Barber. As of this writing no one has shown me the courtesy of calling. If you are thinking of buying a used car from Dewey Barber I suggest taking the vehicle to someone and have it checked out. Needless to say, had I done that I would not have had all the aggravation I have experienced and my wallet would not be lighter by $1000.00+ before the first payment was made. read more
