This clinic never fails to disappoint when it comes to customer service. The only reason we continue coming here is because my mother-in-law has been a patient for many years, and no other doctor has been willing to prescribe the medications she has been taking for so long, so we always end up coming back to Serra. Their telephone service is terrible. They rarely answer the phone, even after the automated system repeatedly says you're the next caller for 20-30 minutes. Last Monday, I called around noon and again around 2:00 p.m. They eventually called to verify my mother-in-law's date of birth and then called again around 4:30 p.m. All I needed was for them to correct the dosage of her medication because they had sent the pharmacy the wrong strength. My mother-in-law had already been seen by the doctor just a few days earlier, so there was no reason for her to schedule another appointment just to correct a prescription dosage that the office had entered incorrectly. Instead of simply contacting the pharmacy to fix their mistake, the staff member insisted we make another appointment, which would have meant my mother-in-law going without her medication for about a week. The representative was rude, repeatedly saying she was "just trying to help," then placed me on hold. It was obvious she had no intention of returning to the call because she left me on hold until the office closed. At exactly 4:58 p.m., the call was disconnected. It's now been over a week, and I still haven't heard back from anyone. No follow-up, no correction, and no concern for a patient who depends on her medication. It's incredibly frustrating that something as simple as correcting a prescription dosage has been handled with such a lack of urgency and compassion. To make matters worse, here I am again today trying to reach someone. After 35 minutes on hold, it looks like I won't be able to speak with anyone once again. Instead of connecting me to a representative, the automated system is now asking me to enter the extension number of the person I'm calling. How am I supposed to know anyone's extension? I have no choice but to hang up because I don't have that information. This has become a pattern, not a one-time occurrence. Patients should not have to spend hours trying to reach someone, especially when the office is correcting its own prescription error. The lack of communication, accountability, and basic customer service is unacceptable. I sincerely hope this clinic improves its phone system and the way it handles patient concerns because no one should have to go through this just to get a medication dosage corrected. read more

I had an appointment with Dr. Keesara; he was extremely dismissive and seemed almost exasperated to have to listen to my heart or even take the appointment seriously once he learned I was "so young." A previous doctor was concerned about a possible heart murmur, and I followed his recommendation to see a cardiologist - which just happened to be Dr. Keesara. Never in my life have I gone through an appointment so fast and been told "you have nothing wrong. Why would they send you. Good luck" before he walked out. He didn't even properly listen to my heart! Just slapped his stethoscope around my chest (particularly over the metal wiring of my bra) and called it a day. No questioning about family history or medications or my own previous medical history. Just told me to hold my breath and then barely looked over me. His staff said he is normally super fast, but I doubt being looked at for 25 sec is what they meant. I've never had an appointment with a more unprofessional and disinterested doctor. Daniel, the supervisor, is not only rude in his attitude but also unhelpful. When you ask him for assistance, he claims it will get done, but it never does. Today, he chose to act unprofessionally by making a comment to me and my mom, saying that "we're always like this," in front of his staff and the security guard. The security guard started to laugh as if my mom's health is a joke to them. It clearly bothered him when I pointed out that if an appointment is made for a patient at 8 a.m., my mom should be able to register herself. However, they won't allow her to sign up. We have been calling and trying to understand why the doctor consistently fails to keep his scheduled appointments. Yet every time we call, they either don't answer or put us on hold, only to disconnect us afterward. Once the receptionist finally has us speak with him, he seems annoyed at having to help us. What Daniel did is completely unacceptable. My mother's health is my priority; she's a 65-year-old woman with severe health problems, and his lack of understanding about our situation over the past month is extremely unprofessional. For him to make such a comment to the security guard and for them to laugh in our faces was unacceptable. There have been numerous times when we sought help from him, and he would assure us that it would get done, but it never did. Daniel needs to learn how to greet and smile at patients. Thank goodness I was there for my mother. It makes me wonder how many other elders he has treated this way. Dr. Vaquero was rude and showed an unethical and unprofessional behavior. He did not want to hear my worries, he shut me after I started explaining my concerns; He said: "I don't work like that, I like to go in order, if you don't like it, make an appointment with a different doctor." I let him talk, but then when I tried to talk he said: "enough, enough, I should spend 15 minutes with each patient and I've been here for 20 minutes, I don't care what you want to say." He showed me his busy schedule and I said "you are so rude" he said " if you do not like it, go somewhere else." That was a horrible experience with this doctor. for other appointments with doctor Rana, he always wants to reschedule on the same day of the appointment when I had already ask for day off at work . HAVE NOT HAD GOOD EXPERIENCE WITH ANY DOCTOR AT SERRA MEDICAL GROUP. I DO NOT RECOMEND IT! read more

The front desk needs to be more organized when scheduling appointments. They should be more aware of which days are for urgent care versus regular doctor visits and confirm appointments accurately. My previous appointments have been pushed multiple times, which is very frustrating. It's also nearly impossible to reach anyone by phone--I'm constantly placed on hold, and the call eventually disconnects. Going forward, I plan to note the full name of the staff member who schedules my appointments so they can be held accountable for any mistakes. This situation is unacceptable, especially since I travel a long distance for my visits. It's a major inconvenience and extremely frustrating, particularly when these appointments are for important health concerns. read more

The Appointment line is not professional. I call and get hung up on. It took me 3 calls before I could confirm my appointment. 1st call was to be transferred hungry up on. 2nd call hung up no answer. 3rd call answered and was transferred straight to 2nd floor. So the person who answered already knew what I was calling for instead of asking it was a direct transfer. Total estimate time 30mins. read more

They don't pick up your calls, they don't call you back, they have attitude, and they genuinely won't do their job if you don't push them to. My son's appointment has been reschedule twice due to the Dr. not being physically clear to work full time. The day before they call me to tell me my appointment has to be reschedule. I gave it a few weeks and tried to call again to make an appointment. This time I was able to get through to actual people within minutes, which was a huge (& pleasant) surprise to me! The facility is quiet, clean, and seems to be well taken care of. There is also a convenient pharmacy on the ground floor. The nurse practitioner (Adams) that I saw was patient with me, and seemed to really take the time to listen to my concerns, which is a rare experience for me. STAY THE F away from this place, I feel for the doctors who work here. Their receptionists hardly answer the phone, I left a personal item at the doc office, called right away, it was gone. Waited for 2 months for an appointment w doctor Valderrama and I received a letter the weekend before my appointment, that she was not longer taking patients. What a terrible experience. Am I suppose to wait two months again to get my check up and restock meds? SO IRRESPONSIBLE I need a new word!! I updated this review to make sure that the condescending reply I got from the owner does not go unanswered. No, I don't belong to other group. Maybe check your doctor's appointment cancellations before answering a review. I email the owner and she said that I cancelled one appointment on the 6 which btw I never made. Like now is my fault LMAOL . The reason I cancelled that appointment was because Dr Valderrama wanted me to wait two months to get labs and then see her. The appointment on the 6 was made by mistake by their staff and only a month after my former appointment, not two. She also had someone called me to give me a new referral for an endocrinologist, and the referral I got only had appointments for January. What a joke. read more

The worst medical system I've ever encountered in my life. These Dr.'s are the worst, the office staff is very nice but you can see the fear in their eyes. The pediatric department is the worst. Be prepared to spend 2 hours before being seen even with an appointment. Dermatology is also the worst. The dermatologist is at the Mend building a few miles away and is just awful. It's a nurse practitioner not a fully vetted dermatologist and after waiting almost a month for the appointment, they can't treat the problem because she does not have time. This is the worst experience and I regret that I have such cheap insurance that this is the only option for now. read more

So I'm fairly disabled, (use a white cane for balance, oxygen for pain, and have terrible dyslexia and am constantly losing paperwork) and this office is SO patient and wonderful with me. They have helped me set up appointments, fax referrals, find offices, get me connected to specialists, and so much more, all with genuine friendliness and a smile. If you want to be helped by someone who is overworked, over stressed, and lacks customer service skills, then this is the place for you! If you're a Spanish speaker then please find someone who can assertively advocate for you because their customer service skills for Spanish speaking patients is unbearable unless you speak to them assertively.... I work in customer service at a retail store and my communication skills are superb compared to what I experienced. For those working in healthcare, you would think that they are more compassionate but damn, you get better service at a Taco Bell... My grandmother spoke to someone in the morning and was told to call back later because they were too busy. She was first informed that she would received a call back but if she didn't, to call again. She received no call obviously and called back later and was immediately put on hold. She's been on hold for 30 minutes. I then called from my phone, while she was still on hold, spoke English and got someone to listen. I asked to speak to a supervisor because this was insane, my grandmother is Spanish speaking and doesn't know what to say in efforts to get someone to listen. It wasn't until I was furious and demanding that her needs were "listened to". We spoke to so many people (receptionist, nurses, "acting supervisor") and we had to keep asking their names in order to not get hung up on (whether it's the system or intentional) but the process could have been handled a lot differently and with a lot more patience/compassion. Please please AVOID this place or get an English speaking person to advocate for you! It's so unfortunate that this location is trash and completely unfit for elderly patients. I'm so sorry that these workers are over worked and potentially underpaid but damn... the supervisors needs to get their act together. This is embarrassing. read more

Do NOT come here. The staff does NOT care about your health or well-being. They will leave you in a worse state when you leave than when you came in. They will not answer your calls. They will hang up on you after being put on hold for hours. The nurse practitioner ruined my hearing by carelessly shoving a Q Tip in my ear and it was impossible to get a hold of anyone at the clinic to help me. Nobody gave a shit. After weeks of being ghosted, I had to threaten to sue, drive to the clinic myself (while deaf), and wait to see an administrator just to be able to talk to someone.
