This place used to be pretty good for service, but I don't think I'll be taking my Subaru here for service any more. My Subaru suffered from a parasitic battery drain in the DCM module https://youtu.be/jFBpTwGk67c . At the time, I didn't know this. Like the author of YouTube video says, cars would just get battery drain and I'd have to replace batteries, get a trickle charger, etc. Subaru told me about the Service Bulletin and to acquire an SB number. After bringing in the SB number, they said "oh don't worry about it, your battery is fine". After 2 batteries, another trip to get my car regularly serviced at full price and 1 trickle charger later, I came back from a trip to find my car battery dead. It took me a trip to a different Subaru Authorized Service Dealer for them to figure out the issue. Maybe I was an anomaly, but I won't be taking my car here going forward. read more

I would think twice before buying a car from Serramonte Subaru. Despite buying a car I like at a reasonable price, the post purchase experience has been TERRIBLE, and more than 3 months later I'm still waiting for the dealership to finish registering the car in my name, or for them to unblock the DMV sending license plates. My temporary plate even expired. Customer service has been non-existent for someone that has spent tens of thousands of dollars with them. I've called and talked to a dozen different people before I found someone willing to help me. There is no proactive communication on their part or sense of ownership to get the issue fixed. Because I bought my car during the big computer hack, the dealership wasn't able to use the normal computer system to get it registered. The fact that they made a mistake and didn't include all the necessary forms when manually doing so is understandable and something I might forgive. But the DMV rejected their attempts more than a month ago and sent all the paperwork back to them. I've had to spend hours of my time figuring out the status and researching the issue with the DMV so I can tell the dealership what their prob is, and that they've been sitting on it doing nothing to fix it. I've spent hours calling the dealership over and over to try to get someone to look into it. Everybody I talked to basically said "I'll send an email but that's not my department" and that they would call me back with more info but then never do so, even if I followed up and left them messages. I finally got them to acknowledge the problem and look into it, but nobody has reached out to me in the week since then to give an update on when it might be fixed. I have no clue if they're doing anything about it. I've just had to call again to try and get an update. And the car is still not yet registered in my name, and I still don't have plates read more

Today I had my car serviced and someone else helped me and then told me I also need a new tires. I said I would take my car to get tires somewhere else where it is cheaper. Shortly after, Duane came and talked to me and explained the warranty program and the benefits of getting the tires through the Subaru dealership. Every time I go to this location to get my car serviced, they are never nice. The service is absolutely terrible. The most recent time I went, Paul helped my out. Never go to Paul if you end up getting your service done here. He didn't listen to any of my concerns of which service I was in for and wanted to pay for. Instead he charged me for my next service that was 60k miles when I still had couple thousand miles left to put on it to reach 60k. I'm never coming back here again. In full transparency, I left a positive Yelp review for Steven Wu whom I purchased a Crosstrek from. He's great and didn't hassle me like other salespeople from this dealership. This rating is about everything else from my experience. Pre Visit: Pure incompetence. I was inundated by texts, phone calls and emails even though I stated I only wanted to communicate by email on their web form. They also sent me mindless messages copy pasted over and over again. It was plea after plea to come the dealership and no substance about a deal structure. One of the emails said I should buy from this dealership because they give you free coffee. Visit: Typical experience people hate about car dealerships. You arrive and there are vultures wearing suits that don't fit well. Lots of salespeople hanging around on their cellphone and not They completely low ball the trade in value and give you a sob story about how hard their job is. The paperwork gets done with a "finance manager" in a dingy windowless room filled with early 2000's marketing decor. The finance guy haggles and tries to aggressively push for the extended warranty and pre paid maintenance plan. My blood was boiling. Very close to walking and not doing a deal. The bathrooms are disgusting; basically the same as a gas station bathroom. I'm two weeks out from purchase and the dealership has still not contacted my lender to finalize the details despite my lender reaching out to them on numerous occasions. Came in for a scheduled oil change service and left very happy. When I arrived I was greeted immediately and had a service advisor working on my paperwork right away. My advisor Dwayne White was great, professional and friendly. Took care of me well. Initially quoted a 1.5 hour wait time for my oil change but they were able to get me out in 45 minutes which I appreciated. The service department at this dealer has been hit or miss for me in the past but it's nice to see they are getting more consistent with good service. My partner and I were at Serramonte Subaru, ready for our appointment with Andrew Conti and eager to check out a car we were interested in. Someone greeted us while we were still looking for parking and when we finally parked and walked up the front doors, we were asked about our visit. We were then directed to wait near the entrance while our greeter went to inform Andrew of our arrival. Thanks to the glass-walled offices, we could see our greeter's path and got our first look at Andrew Conti. After a few minutes, Andrew started coming towards us. But then, a white couple entered the dealership, and Andrew, like a squirrel spotting a shiner nut, welcomed them first. "You're here for the Crosstrek, right?" he asked them, which was, coincidentally, the same model we were interested in. They seemed thrown off but played along, considering it's a popular model. We assumed it was just a simple mix-up. As another salesman took over the couple, we watched Andrew return to the building to attend to other customers. Despite making eye contact several times, he never came over to us. I thought that maybe he just didn't realize we were waiting for him, so after 20 minutes, I decided to walk up to him and check when we were going to be attended to. He responded, "You're here for the Crosstrek, right? Just give me a few more minutes." It dawned on me that he was fully aware of who we were, our appointment, and our interest in the Crosstrek. Yet, instead of communicating with us and letting us know he was running late, he chose to ignore us and give priority to other customers. As we looked around, we noticed that we were the only people of color among the customers. The rainbow of employees seemed solely focused on the white customers. Realizing the situation, we decided to leave. On our way out, I tried to share our less-than-stellar experience with an employee. Instead of lending a sympathetic ear, he started schooling me on their internal dynamics. Oh, how enlightening! If only I'd remembered to bring my non-existent copy of the Serramonte Subaru Employee Handbook, everything would've fallen into place! How was I supposed to know all that? We just bought our new Forrester there. I was very happy with the service and we did not feel pressured. We were able to get the car for the price we wanted to pay. The checkout process took longer than we expected, which got a tiring. (It isn't the first time I have bought a car so I know it can go a big quicker than that).
