A few weeks ago my wife and I were visiting our son in San Francisco. When departing his house in Daly City he noticed a puddle of motor oil on the driveway. We were driving to Portland early the next morning!!! We had dealt with Saramonte Subaru previously and was hoping we could get there early the next morning. We arrived at the dealership in Daly City before 8:00am to be first in line for help. There was a power outage for all of Daly City and they were turning away customers until power returned. I approached Joe Perez, the service supervisor and advised our situation!! "Let's see how we can help" was his reply, he got a mechanic to look at the car and he said " I see the problem and it is a quick fix" They took our car in and it came out 20 minutes later ready for the highway. Update as of 03.25.21. Sorry Richard, I'm gonna have to update to a very bad experience. However, our interaction to purchasing the car on that day was a 5 star. But my gripe is at the finance side. Anyone reading this, Richard is a great salesperson; look for him. He is very knowledgeable, and will treat you like a valued customer. To the potential buyers--when you reach the finance side, make fucking sure you ask the data entry portion of your finance or cash buy to be double checked before submitting. My license plate and registration came...but no pink slip. I called the finance person since they are the last person to wrap everything up. My registration shows the bank as the lienholder when I never got a car loan. They said they'll at least fix it but now I have to wait longer for this error. Not even a sense of urgency, 'oh we'll get this corrected but you'll have to wait longer. There's nothing else we can do about it. This mistake could have only been found out after it has been sent to you.' No, it could have been caught before the registration and title comes to the buyer. All it takes is a quick minute to look over your data entry, then press submit. Due to not doing that, this mess is taking over a month to fix. Not even a call back to see if there's anything else they can do to fix their mistake. Unprofessional. read more

He gave us a tour of the current line up and we noticed there was an EV and we had to give it a try. This is a review of the service department. If you want to be lied to and overcharged, go ahead and bring your car here. Pay thousands for regular maintenance and they'll ignore issues so you just have to come back and they'll make more money for repeat trips. Ask them why they didn't spot this totally major repair when they had your car two months ago and they'll lie and say it just happened even though the problem is the kind of problem that doesn't just happen all of a sudden and definitely would have been there two months ago. Ask them why it took all day for your car to get diagnosed and they'll give you a whole song and dance about diagnostics and how they're doing all this stuff and it takes time and another mechanic can show you how it takes three minutes to diagnose this super common problem. The they'll only do a partial fix and try to get you to come back for another big repair next week, when actually the car would be fine with a minor repair that they could have gotten done that day if they weren't playing games. It's all lies. They're bilking people, they oversell and upsell and they get away with it and they don't care because a lot of us have too little time and too much money to investigate. Did some basic Reddit research because my car had a really common problem and figured out they were trying to scam me for over $7k on what is a $1,500 repair. I'm bringing my car to a local mechanic here on out. I will never ever let this dealer touch my car again and I will never buy from any of their dealerships. read more

I don't know about the quality of their service because after three attempts to reach someone in the service department to ask about the cost of a service, I have yet to speak to anyone. Long holds, then cycled back to the receptionist and cut off the first two times. Today I tried again and was put on hold for about 20 minutes. When someone did pick up, it was because they thought I was holding for someone else. They told me they are too busy to answer the phone and I'd have to leave a message. Then I was cut off. Tl;dr - this was a poor experience when buying a vehicle and I won't be recommending or returning for future purchases. The only reason they get 2 stars instead of 1 is because they had the car I wanted. From the start, purchasing my Subaru Legacy was a pain. Unfortunately, this was the only place that had it at a decent price and color I wanted. I asked for a quote online and received and automated text. It asked me to schedule and appointment. Then another one came asking to schedule. Then a person called and asked. When I said I could make a Saturday, he said he wouldn't be there and someone else would help me. I arrived and took a test drive and liked it. The salesman didn't really tell me anything about the car. If I didn't already do the research, I would have missed a lot. We hardly saw him at all. The first finance guy was nice and spent time. Our salesman was with us for a total of maybe 10-15 minutes. My wife and I spent most of our time sitting and waiting and waiting. After that, we were rushed through the final contract signing. We didn't even have time to ask all of our questions. We asked if it had an alarm, he said yes it was included with STARLINK, it didn't. My wife and I shouldn't have had to figure out the things he didn't tell us on our own. We really did ask questions about our purchase but we feel like we were mislead once we got home. Then, the person who was supposed to help me that day texted again and asked if I had questions. I asked about a few things that would have given them more business. He never got back to me. Just told me to let him find out for me. This location has been good with the services on my Forester and will go out of convenience and warranty coverage but I'll not go back for a purchase or recommend them. read more

I had been searching for a precise trim and color for several months. It happened that the car was available at Serramonte. I called them up, and the first person to pick up was Tristan. I told him what I was looking for, and he went straight to the point and said he could offer a certain amount off the car I wanted. I told him I would come down later that day. When I got there, unfortunately, he was helping another customer; nothing is probably worse than feeling like a sales rep is trying to balance two different clients. Therefore, another sales rep, Wilison, offered to show me the car and answer any questions. I had my kid there, so Wilson ensured she felt comfortable, too. Within 15 minutes of taking some info, he got me a quick estimate, and that estimate beat all the other offers I got from other dealerships for the specific color I wanted. I told them I had to consult my partner, and if it went well, I would be back tomorrow. I was back the next day, and as requested, the car was clean, and the tank topped off; I did one last test drive, and the rest is history. Triston and Wilson didn't pressure me and answered most of my questions. If they weren't sure, they would ask or look up an answer for me. Both are young, but getting honest answers, not being pressured, and making us comfortable with our decisions was refreshing. Truly Impressed... The advertisement I heard was "97% of Subaru's sold are still on the road after 10 years." This may have been the reason to attract me to give Subaru a try, but what sold me was the total experience. Sales - 10 out of 10. Our Sales Consultant was Mr. Alan Liang was a complete professional. He knows his product throughly. He doesn't try to give you a BS answer if he doesn't know the answer. He will go out of his way to let your try the various models and trims and never once display impatience. Vehicle - 2019 Outback 6 cylinder. This car was being compared with VW, Acura, BMW, and Mercedes, and Infiniti. This was not originally a car we would consider, however once you drive this car you'll see how smooth the 6 cylinder rides plus open and shut the doors and you'll hear how solid the doors shut. These Subaru's are not like the old Japanese cars that have that thin tin feel. Pricing - Well, out of the gate this dealership is the most aggressive compared to any of the other Bay Area Subaru dealers. Dealers will all tout that they are the best or sold the most, however the facts and figures are out there. Serramonte Subaru was the #1 in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. These claims cannot be fabricated and if their prices were the most aggressive there's no way they could sell so many cars. We also got 0% financing option available for up to 72 months. Finance/Paperwork - 10 out of 10. Shawn Arababi was incredibly kind, patient and knowledgeable. He never once pressured us to buy any after market product. Truly a gentleman. If 97% of all Subaru vehicles sold in the last 10 years are still on the road today that's gotta say something! For the record I have no affiliation with anyone at Subaru Corporation nor anyone at this dealership. Take your business elsewhere. I never write Yelp reviews but want to help others avoid Serramonte Subaru's dishonest and deceitful tactics. I received a written offer for a Crosstrek from Rich (Serramonte Subaru's General Sales Manager) on December 1 through Consumer Reports' TrueCar program. The next day I received a call from Ron (Customer Relations Manager) at Serramonte Subaru, who said he was unaware of the offer I received the day before from Rich. When I asked about the offer, and emailed it to Ron, Ron allegedly then spoke with Rich before calling me back to say that Serramonte Subaru was unable to honor the price Rich offered me the day before. Instead, they were planning on selling the car for $7000 above MSRP. Ron said he would make me a "deal" and sell me the car for $3000 above MSRP, which was about $4000 above the offer I received the day before. I called Rich to confirm that he was really refusing to honor his written offer, but Rich never called me back. I also called Consumer Reports and they confirmed that Serramonte Subaru's refusal to honor my original offer is completely unacceptable. Dealers that sign on to participate in the TrueCar program are signing on to provide consumers with straightforward and transparent prices. Offering one price one day, and then turning around and saying they'll only sell me the car for thousands of dollars more the next day, is exactly what the program seeks to avoid. Car buying is rarely a pleasant experience, but save yourself the time, money, frustration, and stress of dealing with Serramonte Subaru. read more

My wife brought my vehicle to be serviced and to fix a sound that it was making while turning. During the carwash a technician backed the car and damaged my vehicle. They told my wife that they would fix the damages and provide a rental vehicle in the meantime. My wife asked me to come in and talk to them and take a look since she is not too familiar with cars. I couldn't make it the same day because of my work schedule and came in the following day. When I arrived the service antendent Louigee who was in contact with my wife was very amicable and empathetic, I asked to see the damages and he said of course and contacted his manager Brian. I understand that accident happen and we all make mistakes so I didnt want to get the person who damaged my vehicle in hotter water by making a fuss. When Brian came out he came out and told me what happened. He was emphasizing that I was getting a brand new bumper really trying to sell it to me, with all due respect it came off like sleazy sales man and some what rubbed me the wrong way telling me that it would of been fixed if I didn't take so long to come in. Really rubbing me the wrong way, I asked to speak to his boss or have a corporate number to complain about his unprofessionalism I was told that there was no corporate number and that he was not at liberty to give out any number . I asked how long it would take to get the damages fixed and he said it would take 2 days! I wanting just get on with my day I agreed turning down the rental on the condition that it would be done in 2 days. After 2 days I did not here back from them and my wife would contact from them time to time to check on the status for the next couple weeks. They would state that they didn't know what was going on at the body shop and call us back. Which they never did. On one of those instances my wife spoke to Brian the service manager and said "the car would of been fixed if you didn't get your husband involved" After a month we finally got a call that the car was ready after receiving the car I noticed that the bumper was completely missed matched the rear fender had damages. After speaking and voicing the situation I was told that i should contact the body shop that fixed it and resolve my complaints with them. Also after driving the car the sound while turning the sound continues as well with some shaking and a slight knocking sound coming from the engine the car wasn't even clean! To say the I'm never coming here again and would I recommend for no 1 else to come here, at least to get there vehicle serviced Not having the money or resources I wish there was something more I could then just writing a review read more

I always come here to pick up oil filters for my car for the past 8 years. The part retails for $8 and change. Some shady mid-aged white guy that work in the parts department (Parts Manager) tried to charge me $17 for the same part. On the spot, I call other Subaru dealers in the area and they quoted me the same oil filter for $8. Cat caught their tongue with the scam markup. On the way out I saw one of my old subordinates who now work here that was "forced" to resign. The process of finding the right person to talk to and get this resolved has been very frustrating. I have been tranferred to voicemail that is full, I have left a message for the sales manager, basically I have been totally ignored. My only choice now is write a review and head to AAA and hopefully have them help me (for a fee I am sure). This should be the easy part of selling cars. They were not the cheapest for the car I purchased, but had the model and the color I was looking for. I found the car, and bought it for what we agreed upon over the phone. During this process, I had to call in 15+ times and then physically go down to the dealer to get the first one refunded (still no check yet). This is even though Serramonte Subaru is the only one who can make a claim and was supposed to do so within 30 days. To make an alternative insurance claim, I have to file a Police Report to obtain a Police Report number. After talking to them about this, Anthony keeps giving me the runaround by giving me (1) a fake phone number or (2) having the front desk send me to voicemail. read more
