Whenever I am missing or forgetting a part or in a rush for a replacement, this AutoZone location in Daly City never failed me. The staff are super knowledgeable and friendly, as they always help me find what I need quickly, especially during my DIY car repair projects. The employees usually recognize me, as I come here often for auto parts, car wash supplies, and other car items, which makes the experiences feel more personal. Just keep in mind the staff aren't mechanics, so don't expect them to diagnose, fix, or install items on your car, they're experts to sell parts, loan tools, and offer advice to help you do it yourself. The staff are usually going out of their way to help customers work on their cars in rare occasions. The store is well-organized and stocked, they tend to be on the pricier side and don't price match online stores with the exception of O'Reilly, which is usually the same price. That's pretty expected at auto parts stores, though when you're paying for the convenience of getting parts immediately. If you need to get back on the road in an emergency, I would definitely pay extra to get the part right away. I also bring my used motor oil and oil filters here for recycling. While many reviewers complain about customer service and taking empty motor containers is not their responsibility. If you want reliable parts fast with helpful staff and don't mind doing the work yourself, this is a solid spot in Daly City to buy auto parts. Quick Review about AutoZone Fix Finder service. They lend you an OBD handheld computer to plug into your car OBD port to download error codes so you can diagnose issues. Its a free service! Can save you hundreds to diagnose at mechanics?? First time using this service and was a game changer. Mechanic said $140 to diagnose. read more

I needed gasket for oil drain for my Dodge/ Cumunigs truck. It's a large ring, about 1", shown on AZ website. They show it as available but when I went to store, they did not have it. So I ordered online. What came is a ring not even half the size, ridiculous for Cummings, that has 14 quarts of oil. By the way, the AZ website is not easy to navigate. Good thing this part was little over 1 dollar. Inever buy anything from AZ. Waste of time. read more

Did you know that AutoZone offers free alternator check at every location? This was very helpful to determine if my alternator needed to be fixed. My check engine light was on as well and they checked the codes real quick with the OBD2 device. This was free too. At an auto shop you would have to pay for this simple service. read more

Edgar is the definition of leading by BAD example as a company based around customer service I dont know how you can put someone in charge who thinks it's ok and teaches people under them to not help you replace windshield wiper blades WHEN ITS RAINING!! It was only drizzling when I came in but the rain was going to get worse later and my wipers were trashed and Edgar refused to help me change my blades or send someone out to help me because he "didn't want to catch a cold" after politely asking again he still refused to help me and said it's "not policy" "we don't have to" and it's "weird I don't know how to do it myself" after I replied saying this is why people go to oreillys he said "yeah go ahead they have way better service" and I did and they actually helped me! I believe his name was Carlos, he definitely hates his job and needs to be fired because I am not the only person with a terrible interaction with him. I visited this store recently to purchase a new battery for my car. I had the misfortune of dealing with the store manager Carlos Roa. From the get-go, Mr. Roa was surly.  When I entered the store, rather than greeting me, I had to walk down the terminals to find Mr. Roa, because there were no other employees on the floor.   Carlos seemed to be in a bad mood and did not appear to want to interact with me.  He had a negative disposition during the entire transaction.   AutoZone is great, generally. But, you might want to avoid this location and visit another. I told the regional manager, Angel Buenogonzalez of Autozone, about my poor experience with Mr. Roa. I heard nothing back. I went down to auto zone but by the time I got there, all the air was gone. Lee helped me pick out the right item so that I could plug the leak, not only did he do that but he came outside and fixed my tire for me . Then he put air inside of it . He grabbed me the wrong air filter for my truck and had to tell him like 3 times it was wrong! He refused to believe me at first and then finally must have realized his mistake. I called to find out if they had brake rotors in stock for my vehicle. The first time I called it took a while to answer. The lady who answered the phone asked me if I could hold. After being on hold for more than 10 minutes I figured they must've forgotten about me. So I called back and this time a gentleman answered told me thank you for calling AutoZone please hold just as I was trying to tell him I had already been forgotten he immediately put me on hold again. I understand that they're probably busy but 10 minutes of holding my phone to my ear while being subjected to listen to crappy music doesn't seem like a very good policy to treat potential customers. read more

I wasted $40 some dollars here on windshield wipers that don't work and customer service was terrible, I've been treated rudely and unprofessionally twice now by the workers here who refuse to help. When I came back to ask someone if I can get them replaced or looked at, I got a rude and annoyed sounding "well what do you want us to do?" from the older white guy that works there And then told that no they will not be helping me check my windshield wipers and gestures for me to leave. This place is a joke. The salesman was as helpful As he can. The big problem was a manager there BEWARE. There is a manger name Jarod very unprofessional unhelpful and lazy. Brief description he had long hair kn the heavier side and had a potty mouth the whole time I was shopping in the store. I couldn't believe he was a manager. I Purchased a part gave me a box that was labeled core sticker. Wth . I just left the store inspected the part with what he gave me decided to open up the box and it was a used part. He accused me of doing some unlawful things and told me he would not help me. I called the main manager of the area and got no cAll back or response. This place lost all my business i will shop happily somewhere else and keep there so called new part. Extremely rude workers here. I called ahead to ask if they recycle auto brake parts and they said yes. I show up 10 minutes at the store with the parts and they said they don't take them to recycle. Literally 10 minutes ago on the phone they said they did. I asked them if they could just throw away the parts then (two small boxes that togetehr are no bigger than a kids shoes box). The guy that worked there said "you don't have a garbage in your home?" So rude and unnecessary. Bunch of unhelpful and lazy people work at this location from the looks of these reviews. This review is specifically for Heath, About 2 days ago the battery on my car kept going dead even after 2 Jumpstarts. As a last ditch effort I waited an hour for a 3rd jump & made my way to Autozone in order to have my battery charged. Upon arriving, my battery died again so I went ahead and disconnected it, I was having some difficulty due to corrosion on the clamps so I went inside to ask for a pair of pliers. Heath was more than friendly & asked if he could take a look at it, I obliged and followed him out to the car and watched as he removed the battery and brought it inside to charge. The whole process usually takes about an hour, after the said hour, Heath came outside to my car & gave me the unfortunate news that my battery wasn't taking a charge and was overheating, 110 degrees to be exact. I was completely devastated since I was living in the car, didn't get paid for 2 more days and had work in the morning. Earlier, Heath had recommended getting new clamps to which I disclosed my situation & had to refuse since I could not afford it. He must have remembered that conversation because immediately after disclosing the bad news, he offered to pay for it himself. I denied & said I couldn't take the help but he persisted and made me feel like a friend, rather than a customer. Not only did he purchase me a new battery, but also the new clamps he had recommended earlier in the conversation & would not allow me to pay him back. This type of customer service is almost completely unheard of and delicately rare, thanks to Heath I was able to make it to work in the morning. Its been 3 days & my car has never run better! The kicker in all of this, is that the Daly City store is not his main store, he was there filling in & it just happened to work out when I needed help the most. I will be leaving a review at the Richmond store as well, which is his main location. Thank you so much Heath!!! Your exemplary customer service and friendliness should not go unnoticed! I will be making a call to corporate to see if I can talk to a district or regional manager in order to further express my gratitude in hopes of getting you a raise or promotion. Very confused about my tail lights and brake lights light bulbs cause 2 out of 3 are not working. Also one of the light bulb's marker fade to nothing. I have no way to tell witch light bulbs i should pick cause I'm not a professional. So i head to the guy and he can exactly tell the code of the light bulb in 3 seconds. I looked up online at Auto Zone website for radiator drain plugs showed they have it in stock ready for curbside pickup. I went to Auto Zone this lady who work at Auto Zone her name tag shows she is Parts Manager was helping me looking up on their system. She had trouble finding it even with their specific part #. She then asked me for my car make and model to look up that way. While she was looking up on the system. One customer come in she then paused helping me. And she went to other side to helping that customer. After few minutes she finally found a drain plug for my car. She as Parts Manager didn't know where that part were in the store. She then asked her staff where's that located. I don't understand how can Parts Manager who have no knowledge of car parts and not familiar with their parts in the store can be Parts Manager. Unbelievable, I went in to return some borrowed tools for my son. The female cashier violated my space, then accused me of doing that to her, but I will get that in a moment. They charged my son $279 but they had no record of it. They had a record for the other tool so I returned that and they refunded him. I asked for the customer service number so I could call about the other tools. This was today August 11th at 12:30 p.m. the woman at the cashier behind the plexiglass came around and stood next to me where the customers stand. She had a piece of paper in her hand and I'd asked her to write down the customer service number. She handed me a blank piece of paper and I looked at it on both sides and I said what is this. Then she said you reached out towards me so I just handed it to you. She said it in this way like I had unapproached unappropriately reached my hand out so she shoved a piece of blank paper in my hand. I hadn't come to approach her she had come up to me. First of all she wasn't following covid standards she left her cashier statement and came around the plexiglass and stood close to me within arms distance. I assume that she had written down the number that I had asked for so I reached out and she handed me a blank piece of paper and then said it was because I had reached out towards her. she didn't make a joke out of it or make it or apologize, she sounded like I had violated her. I'd like to remind her that she's the one that came within two feet of me and violated the policy of 6 ft distance. I found the interaction very strange and she definitely came across like she was insulting me. I also left without the customer service number I asked for then I asked for the manager but he was on lunch. My son works on cars and he said he won't be returning to AutoZone and neither will I. Also one of their customers started attacking me verbally because I asked her why she said that I tried to touch her. She's just extremely rude person and like I said I never got the customer service number that I asked for hopefully my son will just do a chargeback. Since you people refused to find out how he can get his money back and how he can return the tools. By the way I'm also a female. read more

Last winter I bought tire chains here for my trip to the snow. Luckily I did not need them, and I was told I could return the unopened chains with the receipt. However, I idiotically lost the receipt! When I went to the store to see if anything could be done (30 minutes before closing) I was helped by one of the mangers that night. Instead of turning me away because I didn't have a receipt, he patiently searched through his computer just to find my purchase. After about 20 minutes he was able to resolve the issue, and I was able to get my refund! I really wish I could remember his name, but I really appreciate his efforts. Despite my dumb mistake, he took his time making sure the customer was taken care of (especially right before closing)! Moral of the story: DON'T LOSE YOUR RECEIPT! read more
