I made a serious inquiry with Leonis Word, who was just the first sales person to answer. He seemed calm and answered all my questions on the phone and emailed me specs on inventory. The next day I got an email, text 5 mins later and then a phone call. All during business hours. I texted back that I will look over the information provided and I am at work. Once I looked at the details, he didn't provide what I needed and made a comparison that was not equal (the crosstrek Premium vs Limited). Even though the limited had add ons, it was not equal. I asked him to outline the differences, which he didn't want to do. I responded with thanks, but you guys don't have what I need. He continued to email and mock me saying LOL sorry you don't remember what you asked for. Even if he had the Premium I wanted in stock, I wouldn't go with this salesperson. We had a FANTASTIC experience with Steven Wu at Serramonte Subaru. We received a quote that no other dealership in the area could match (we talked with 5 Subaru dealerships). The process was straightforward and honest - the "out the door " price he gave us is exactly what we paid for the vehicle. Steven was very responsive by email and text message. He had the exact car we wanted ready and cleaned for us to purchase and drive off with - we had the car within 48 hours of first getting the quote. Mind you we modified the car because he's a mechanic and took good care of the car. We were told to go to CarMax and get it appraised there and come back; appraised at $15,500. We went back and they told us to sell it to CarMax. We decided to go elsewhere because the, possibly manager was rude and unprofessional. Got a quote from Andrew Conti that said: - Market value: $37,712 - My price: $33,717+FEES This is ridiculous of course and I asked why I am being quote above MSRP. Here is his explanation (quoting his response): "The Forester Limited is very low in supply at the moment so they are selling for over MSRP. I might be able to sell you the car for exactly the MSRP if you can make it in today. Is it possible for you to come in? I'll be free at 530pm." His explanation is complete bull as I got a quote from 15 (literally 15, I requested quotes from every Subaru dealer in the Bay Area), and not a single one quoted above MSRP, and only 2 offered the car at MSRP. Everyone else quoted different levels below MSRP. Only Seramonte has tight supply cause everyone buying above MSRP from them??? How else do I know it's bull? Because he immediately offered me another car that is coming in a few weeks for $29k when MSRP is $33k. If Foresters are in such a tight supply, why isn't the one coming not priced above MSRP? In a few weeks, supply crunch will be magically resolved? Otherwise, he was fine (at least on email, didn't talk to him on the phone). I know car salesmen are already known for shady tactics, but this is the only time I encountered this. So watch out. read more

Save yourself some time and gas and steer clear of this dealer, I thought I'd buy from a local dealership since they have some colors of WRX I'm looking for. Instead of going by what they're listing on their website with the standard MSRP (even their site's window sticker shows the MSRP price), but when you get there all you see is another paper slapped next to the window sticker with crazy mark up on it, we're talking about $8k mark up here. Showed the sales person the quote I got from other dealership with OTD price on even a trim above the Base model, and they're still $3k above what I was quoted ($39k for a Base, are you kidding? That's STI territory), absolutely ridiculous and straight up price gouging. Made an appointment online for service and for recall work in January for my 2013 Subaru BRZ. I go in for the appointment and the service advisor is condescending and rude. Not only will they not do the recall the prices he quoted me for some simple things were absolutely ridiculous if done alongside the recall work. How are you going to charge a couple hundred bucks for labor on spark plugs when you literally have to take them out to perform the recall? If you see an appointment scheduled for recall and you can't do the recall why not call me in advance instead of wasting my time making me come down there. He said he would put me in the list to be notified when I could come in for the recall and here we are 8 months later with zero contact. On top of everything they send me an email "we're sorry you missed your appointment"... nope I was there and you guys wasted my time. I'm not even going to bother coming back here in the future. I so wanted to give a great review because it did start off that way when I began the purchase process of a 2023 Crosstrek on Monday, January 30, 2023. However, after waiting six days for a return call from General Manager Arash Haidari, it's time to post this review. 1) SALES: I have not bought a new car since 2000. By recommendation from a friend, I visited Serramonte Subaru on Monday, 01-30-23. I had initially inquired on-line that morning, and I received an email and telephone call from internet salesman Jose Sermonia regarding the possible purchase of either a Forester or Crosstrek. I made an appointment with Jose for later in the afternoon. He was not pushy, but rather informative and patient. I ended up purchasing a 2023 Crosstrek in the color and package I was not intending on purchasing. I would rate him 5 stars. 2) FINANCE MANAGER: I would however rate Finance Manager Kishore Amrit a ZERO. I have never experienced such a sexist and insulting experience in making a purchase of an automobile in all of my life. I was not going to finance the vehicle, and perhaps that is why he decided to make my experience unpleasant. Kishore hurried when he was trying to explain the various car warranties and maintenance plans. He treated me as if I knew nothing about car maintenance. I had to stop him when I said I had worked for an auto repair business for seven years, and oil changes are not $300. He then said, "all of the fluids", which I know are NOT changed every 6 months. That conversation went around and around. Then Kishore tried to fast talk me through the extended warranties and became impatient with me as he was doing his scribbling of figures in front of me. I finally had to ask him to slow down as I was trying to digest what he was saying to see what warranty made sense for me to purchase. Kishore was impatient, rude and sexist. I doubt he would treat a man that way. I then had to tell him I wasn't an idiot. He finally relented and curbed his condescending behavior. All the while he was assisting me, Kishore coughed and smelled horribly of cigarette smoke. It was distracting and added to the already unpleasant experience of sitting with him. It should be noted that I just retired from 37 years of working in Law Enforcement, ostensibly a male-oriented profession, and I have had more than my fair share of working with males and can certainly navigate my own in that realm. 3) PICKING UP THE CAR: On Wednesday, 02-01-23 when I picked up the vehicle, I met with both Internet Sales Manager Andrew Conti and Finance Director Pete Terzian. They were both professional. Pete apologized for Kishore's behavior and made excuses that it was late in the day for Kishore. I refuse to accept that excuse--6:30 p.m. is not late! And Pete should not make excuses for his co-worker's rude behavior. 4) CUSTOMER SERVICE/RECEPTIONIST: Later that evening on 02-01-23, I was still very unhappy about the sexist and rude treatment from Kishore, and I decided to call the General Manager. The receptionist, Nicole, answered and said the manager was not there and to give her my number and he would call me. I told her I just wanted to be transferred to the General Manager's voicemail. We went around and around three times, and she finally said she would transfer me to his voicemail. I told her I would call her right back with my telephone number after I left a voicemail. Right before she transferred the call, she said, "Whatever". My friend who was with me heard her comment, and I told the receptionist I heard what she said and that was very unprofessional of her. She said, "I apologize", but she did not say she was sorry. She had no reason to make that "whatever" comment and no reason to be rude to me. She transferred me to the general manager's voicemail, and I left a message. Then I called the receptionist right back, as promised, and she immediately started laughing. I asked her what was so funny, and I was perplexed as to why she laughed after I returned the call as promised. Once again, she said, "I apologize" and admitted it was unprofessional. 5) FINAL REMARKS: I just want to say that Serramonte Subaru has at least two very rude and unprofessional employees. This dealership could do better than this. It is currently after 5:30 pm, SIX days since I left a voicemail for General Manager Arash Haidari, and I have not received a return call from him. Pete Terzian phoned me earlier the following morning, saying his manager told him to call me, and I told him what happened with the receptionist. He said the manager was "in meetings" and that he would call me later. Apparently the GM does not care about his customers to call them back. I definitely recommend purchasing a Subaru, but I will recommend you spending your hard-earned money anywhere else. read more

I have to say that I had no issue with this particular Subaru dealer's service center until I went in for my first major service at 60,000 miles. Make sure to do your due diligence and compare prices with other Subaru dealers. Serramonte Subaru charged me more than $1000 more for the same service that I could have gotten at Subaru of Marin or Subaru of Fairfield. Unfortunately, Serramonte was the only option for me at the time. When I asked about the price difference, they gave me some vague explanation about customizing the package for the California region and driving conditions, but that doesn't make sense given the other dealers operate in the same area. Notably, Melanie Soriano, who followed up with my service and when I mentioned I had an issue with my TPMS that popped up after my oil change, she helped me get back in the next day to have the tires inspected. This is a review of the service department at Serramonte Subaru. I've been bringing in my car for service at Serramonte Subaru for 3 years now. I've always been very satisfied with the routine maintenance (and warranty work when needed). Their service recommendations are in sync with what Subaru recommends and they have always been transparent on their work/recommendations. (I switched to Serramonte Subaru after a bad experience at another Subaru dealership in the area that recommended service on items that were not necessary according to Subaru) It's easy to schedule an appointment using the website and now routine oil changes no longer require an appointment. Subaru has been selling a lot of cars recently and this is reflected in how busy the service department has been but I've noticed lately that they have staffed up to meet the demand. I recently had an issue with vibration in the front wheels of my Subaru. Melanie Soriano took my call, got me an appointment right away, arranged a loaner car while the issue was being diagnosed. After figuring out what was wrong with the car, she helped us work with Subaru of America to get the repair covered under warranty. She kept me in the loop each step of the process via text. The repair was also completed ahead of the promised time. Melanie totally went above and beyond to help us. I'm certain that if a friend or family member of hers brought in their car for service - they would not receive better treatment than I did. read more

In 2016, I sold my new car I bought from them. They are obligated to refund your paid warranty as you no longer own the car. After multiple calls and run around, I finally submitted the documents via email and the finance individual told me to "wait up to 90 days for the check to arrive." What a surprise, it never came. Then, after calling, they say he no longer works there. So then they transfer me to a voicemail where I can do it all over again. They owe me $347.00. Do not buy from them. 3 part Review: 1. Sales- I really enjoyed my buying experience, the people were not pushy and I felt like they gave me a great deal. 2. Service/Customer Service- So after owning my brand new 2017 Impreza for 7 days (200 miles) the check engine came on and the engine sounded like a lawnmower. I called Serramonte, but the receptionist said the Service Dept was closed and I would have wait till tomorrow, but being stuck on the side of the road that is much harder to do. I asked for the manager and talked to someone on the phone about my issues and seemed like he would help me even though Service dept is closed and they will give me a rental/loaner....he said he would call me back....NOPE. If they can sell cars on Sunday, they should be able to help you out if the car breaks down on a Sunday!!! 3. Subaru Roadside Assistance- Now I soon realized that this isn't ONLY for Subaru cars, as they started to ask me questions about my car which gives me no confidence you know what you are talking about. I give her the VIN #.....she asked what color it is...if its a big or small car....FRONT or REAR DRIVE...I said "its a Subaru you should know this!" After going through all these questions, I thought great a tow truck is coming...then another person called me about the tow and had to go through the same info, he said she transferred the call to him and he doesn't have the info. 3 hours later my car was on its way to the nearest Subaru dealer...not where I actually bought it, but oh well. I had my last Subaru for 220K miles, so far this new one has lasted 200 miles.....great! read more

When I come in, they know what my car is being serviced for (unlike my husband's car dealership where I make an appointment for a particular service and they still don't know why I'm there). She didnt try to upsell me anything, she went down the line of what was going to be needed on my car and what I don't need. So when my check engine light came on yesterday, I didn't hesitate to called Subaru. I knew to ask for Melanie directly. And seriously, I still dont remember the name of the other Subaru service rep that helped me before but they would always schedule me with the last rep I had. But this time, I knew who to ask for! I would definitely recommend her to anyone who needs to get their car serviced at Serramonte Subaru. Oh I forgot, she got my car in and out in 1 day! My Crosstrek Hybrid needed one of its 3 battery changed and she kept me informed the whole way through!
