Horrible service. Careless or incompetent staff or both. The two main issues leading to this review: 1. Within a week after a regularly scheduled service which apparently includes a battery check, my battery completely dies. Just on a visible check it's easy to see the fluids have spilled and started corroding the battery. Need to call towing services and change battery. Wasting my time and money not to mention other issues from having a year and a half old car battery die suddenly. Nothing was noted or mentioned during the service. 2. I had taken store provided coverage for minor dents and scratches perhaps unwisely. The person who does that is supposed to only come on Wednesdays. On asking for an appointment with the cashier, I was given a date which falls on a Tuesday. I confirmed a few times mentioning the date is a Tuesday and they still set up the appointment telling me that it will be done. On showing up on a Tuesday and waiting 40 minutes to get processed and details taken the service technician finds that the person supposed to fix the things doesn't come on a Tuesday. I have to come back on a Wednesday again if I want my work done. For both of these I have to take time, effort, money and hassle for their inability to do their jobs properly in the first place. read more

I came in with my mindset to buy a 2007 Corvette Base that I just test drove or a 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible Z51 2LT waiting for me Monday. Preface: This was my first experience ever purchasing a car from a dealership. The salesperson Christian was very friendly, laidback, and easy to talk with. He answered all of my questions, and given that I was there to test-drive & *potentially* buy a specific Used car on the lot, I appreciate that he did not try to "upsell" me on one of their more expensive vehicles. Adrian in financing was cordial and professional. However, I did not realize that my interest rate would be negotiated on whether or not I purchase their warranty & road-side plans... literally a 4% difference! Perhaps this is standard practice for used car dealers (and I didn't do my research), but this part of the process felt arbitrary and a little sharky. I had originally agreed to a monthly payment of ~10% higher than my initial target, but I ended up leaving with a figure 25% higher, which was slightly disappointing. Overall I had a pleasant experience here. And I am very much pleased with the condition and cleanliness of the vehicle... a beautiful car! read more

They've added a Market Adjustment price to the STI S209 of $50,000 on top of its $66,000 price because "ONLY 209 MADE!" Making the total price for an Impreza $116,000. Their justification: "It's a limited production vehicle, hens the price. If you would like to inquire about the vehicle, please reach out to me and I can check to see if we can provide you with customer preferred pricing." I'm sorry, but when the manufacturer limits the production of a limited production exotic car to 209 units, a dealer is NOT supposed to profit out of this. Unless the dealer is the manufacturer, which these fucking idiots are not. This should be illegal and can be challenged in court. One should consult a consumer law attorney. read more

Sleezy and lairs. DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE. I first brought in my 2013 Subaru Impreza to Serramonte Subaru for an oil change and to get my tires rotated. Anthony was my service advisor. Just like any other visit in they also do a multi-point inspection to see if anything else is wrong with the car. I was told that a rear shock was gone, my timing belt was cracked and that all 4 of my brakes needed replacing as well as two warped rotors in the rear. They quoted me over 2,000$ for everything and tried to get me to get the work done immediately as it was very serious work. I asked if I had any miles left on the brakes and that if I could get another 1,000 miles out of them that I wanted to use them for THE ENTIRE life of them and not skip out on any miles. They said it was absolutely essential for me to replace both the rear and front brakes at the same time. When I looked at the multi-point inspection they did it said that the front pads had 0 MM each and the rear at 5 MM each. Now this doesn't make any sense since they said that I absolutely had to replace both the rear and front brake pads. I decided at this point to drive to Maita Subaru in Sacramento and saved myself a couple hundred dollars and got to deal with honest people. How are you going to lie to me with the info on the paper YOU gave to me? In addition, I had been bringing my car to Serramonte Subaru to get the oil filter changed and oil pan completely emptied for the last 2 years. When I was at the Maita Subaru dealership they informed me the 13' and 14' model year Imprezas had their warranty extended until 100,000 miles as they had a problem with the oil being burned during long sessions on the engine. Where was this info when I paid Serramonte Subaru to do my oil and filter changes? The service department here is the traditional slimy car dealership you would expect. A BIG shout out to Internet Sales Manager, Richard Wilson and the staff of Serramonte Subaru. First met Richard in 2017 when my wife and I were looking to replace her vehicle. We had visited the dealership several times to do our homework and see what we wanted. We set our eyes on a ice silver 2018 Subaru Forester Touring. Richard was honest and straightforward with how the internet sales department pricing worked versus the retail department. He offered fantastic pricing on other colors of the same vehicle. He reached out via email, text and phone messages. Ultimately, we found our vehicle at another dealership but it was a pleasure dealing with Richard. He went above and beyond searching for our vehicle. Jump forward almost 2 years later to September 2019. My wife was in a pretty bad accident that totaled her 2018 Forester. The insurance adjuster for our Forester told me that she had expected more serious injuries from the accident, after an inspection of the car; good job Subaru Forester. Do NOT use Serramonte Subaru Service Department. I will never step foot in this establishment again. In fact we've gathered up enough evidence after talking with other customers who had similar experiences, we plan on suing these crooked shysters. In early June we took our 2015 Subaru Outback in for basic maintenance. They came back with a 5k estimate on everything that supposedly needed to be replaced. Yes, I knew the gaskets were leaky, and I knew spark plugs needed to be replaced. I was also aware that my battery was about to expire. But After having me car for a month they gave me a bill of 7k!! I complained that we did NOT agree to this price, but they told me they had to replace what was needed and that the next visit I would need to replace my steering rods as well. You see, they were already planning ahead to screw me on the next visit. Turns out it was all a bullshit lie. After shelling out 7k I took my car to a REAL TRUSTED mechanic in which he informed me in his words "you just got screwed." Not only were the steering rods fine, but they failed to replace the expired battery, failed to fill the transmission fluid, failed to replace the fuel filter and damaged one of the battery cables in the process. So WTF did I pay for? This place wheels and deals repairs getting as much as they can from your wallet because they know your hands are tied. You can't even talk with an actual technician, you go thru a "front desk monkey" who basically serves as the front man for the operation. Don't believe me? Try calling one of their so-called technicians. You'll wait for over an hr, and finally give up. It's their game and they know how to play it. They're shady crooks and thieves. And yes Serramonte, I hope you're reading this cause you will be hearing from my lawyer very soon. read more

Where should I begin? In April we placed an order for a Crosstrek, Victor gave us a VON (Vehicle Order Number). All seemed good, of course COVID, chip shortages, etc. happened and we were understanding about those facts. Then we got a major run around, story, after story about delays. Victor said Subaru canceled all the orders, then he said he would put in another order with a different address. I hounded him to get that order in and nothing happened, then I contacted Subaru of America. They mentioned nothing about orders being canceled, they contacted Serramonte Subaru, the Subaru rep said they got a very vague answer from Serramonte and said she would contact them again. Serramonte Subaru blew them off and would not respond. Nice! Subaru did a stand up job and offered us a major discount when we purchase the car. We made a deal with another dealer in Santa Rosa, no BS, the order was done at a good price. That dealer was transparent with the facts and told us when we could expect the car. Your experience may be different...good luck! I will also add that Subaru seems to be a stand up company, they asked what charity we wanted to donate $250 to for putting an order in. TLDNR: They promised us an amazing deal, but then tried to bait and switch us on the price for the car we ordered when we came in to sign the paperwork. From what I've heard afterwards, this is a common practice of theirs. I'd avoid this dealership. Go to Capitol Subaru in San Jose. It's a long drive, but well worth it. The Whole Story: My wife and I were looking to replace our luxury SUV with a capable, sporty sedan. We settled on a Subaru WRX STi. We did some research, and reached out to a few dealerships that had them. Serramonte Subaru responded back from their internet sales department with a GREAT price. I was pretty surprised. I contacted the person who responded by email and we struck up a conversation about the car. The sales person was a super nice guy and we got along great. He was really helpful throughout the entire process (shall remain nameless). I confirmed the price (because it seemed really great), and was assured it was legitimate. When we came in to check out the car, but it was sold to another buyer that morning, and they were signing the papers already. We asked if we could get a similar deal if we ordered a car. After confirming with his sales manager (we got a signature), we placed the order. Everything seemed in place and when the car arrived, we came in to sign the paperwork. This seemed like a no-brainer: We had a document signed by the sales manager and us -stating the purchase price, the car, the options, everything. When we started going through the numbers, they said that the sale price was a reflection of our down payment, not the discount they were offering us. When I corrected them on this, the sales manager tried to tell me that Subaru doesn't offer discounts on their leases (lie -the manufacturer doesn't control discounts the dealerships negotiate with their customers). Instead of explaining how the numbers were so off, the sales manager said "It doesn't seem like we have a deal", got up, and walked out of the office. No handshake. No apology. I've dealt with shady dealerships in the past. This is one of their plays: Provide an offer that seems amazing, when they come in to buy the car, fudge the numbers and get the buyer to pay more than they expected. They tried to play this off as if "the system crunches all the numbers". This is simple math; plus, minus, and multiply. When I did the numbers on paper, the sales guys couldn't explain it either (maybe they really didn't know -they seemed nice enough), but the sales manager didn't want to see it. Make sure you do the numbers yourself when buying a car. Don't let dealerships like this take advantage of you. read more
