I cannot recommend this place based on my experience. When I walked in, it appeared to be just like any other barber shop in LA. Despite having an appointment, the barber was late, which defeated the purpose of scheduling ahead. After explaining what I wanted and receiving his confirmation, I let him proceed, but he did not follow my requests. When he showed me the final result, I had to ask him to fade it more because it didn't look like a fade at all. It's clear he lacks skill in that area, as even on the second attempt, he couldn't correct it. Overall, it was probably one of my worst haircuts, and I paid a "reasonable" price of $75.00 plus a tip, as I tend to do. I won't be recommending this place or returning. Additionally, this haircut was for a wedding, and I'll be seeking another barber to fix it. read more

Was searching for a barber shop for a male haircut and realized I drive by this place daily, so decided to give it a go. I called to book an appointment and was advised to book on line. It was a pretty easy process and I was able to book for the same day. We arrived a few min before the designated time and were greeted kindly. We took a seat on an empty chair and waited just a tad, which was totally fine. Once the barber was ready he asked for our inspiration for the cut, we showed him some pics and discussed it and he got to work. Aaron was professional, experienced, talented and super nice. Hair cut exceeded expectations! Very happy with the results. I recommend getting there a little early to find parking, there's free street parking just need to find a spot. My favorite L.A. hairstylist Andrew Kellar moved here recently and it's such a nice barbershop with a really relaxed vibe. The sign outside is so great; right now it reads "No Paychic Vampires". They have a refrigerator full of good beer, soft drinks and water for you to have while you're getting your haircut. Andrew is a fantastic hairstylist and this is such a pleasant, hip, clean, casual and cool salon; the prices are pretty reasonable. My men's short haircut was $65. Plus, the neighborhood is so much fun. I love getting an ice cream afterwards at Jeni's next door and taking a walk, seeing all the cool indie boutiques and great restaurants. There's plenty of free parking on the side streets and around the salon. You might have a little difficulty finding a spot on a busy Saturday afternoon, but I went there today (a Saturday) and I found a parking spot just next door. Super cool neighborhood and an awesome place to get your haircut. You do the appointment booking online and it's very simple. You will get an email confirmation after you book. They do need to get their listed salon phone number working properly, though. The phone number listed online does not answer (I called on a Saturday afternoon) and it does not seem to be working properly....it rings several times then just hangs up (phone says "canceled call"). I tried calling twice. There was no problem with my appointment, but I could see this being problematic if someone needs to cancel or call the salon directly for some urgent reason. read more

It is not often you have businesses run by someone who's on top of every aspect but this business is different. The confusion was the booking shows a price of $65 but the description has a disclaimer of a price range between $65 and $75. When I was charged after my appointed, I was surprised to see a price higher than what I was expecting. That lead me to not fully vetting my review and leaving it online improperly. I believe others have also encountered this issue and I hope they all had the pleasure of working with Alex to resolve it. For everyone: Alex C. Probably not a big deal to these guys who have their regulars but for other prospective new clients out there be careful - if you are late (~10 minutes) they won't let you in. PSA on their strictness even for a basic men's haircut. At $60 per appointment my hope would be for a better experience especially given that I live across the street and was looking for a new home base for regular haircuts. I made the appointment two hours ahead of the time slot... so my tardiness wasn't preventing the business from having another available client in the chair. If that wasn't the case I wouldn't leave this review. As I was told to leave it was their choice to leave the chair empty without anyone waiting for the chair. An oddity to have strict attendance like this in the Venice neighborhood for sure - but rules are rules. Looks friendly and local but they are big company vibes apparently. The guy butchered me. I told him what I wanted and it apparently went in one ear and out the other. He screwed up my beard royally in the first few minutes, and there was no way to fix it. I spent the rest of the cut absolutely livid, just quietly waiting for it to end. He did such a shitty job that he didn't even charge me. Amazing staff, clean space, reasonable prices. The aesthetic of all 3 of their locations alone is Instagram worthy. Parking is never a problem whenever I had appointments. There is coin parking available along the front of the shop and there is free parking along the crossing residential streets. Let me just start by saying that these barbers don't just cut your hair and send you off. They really spend the time to give you a full experience. Making an appointment through their site is super simple and they are always punctual when it comes to appointment times. So if you're like me, who likes to roll up earlier than my actual appointment time. Because I have a wild toddler and going out alone to get a fresh cut is my peace time then know that you will chill out outside because this small local business takes COVID protocols seriously. This location is right on rose, so if you come early go check out and support the other businesses nearby. Last but not least, tip your barber, sanitize your hands and wear a damn mask. I am very disappointed with the quality of service that was provided by Katy. The purpose of the place from the owner's word is "we want to make you feel good and look good." When I came in 1- I was ready to have some quality time and relax. 2- My hair looked long but well put together. Even my Uber driver made a nice comment about my hair. When I came out 1- I felt like I was bothering the crew trying to close shop, not quite the good time I was hoping for. 2- My hair was shorter and completely messy. I've had Alex cut my hair for 4 years now, and I have truly been impressed every time. I moved to Studio City recently, so I figured I'd try some new spots closer to me. I figured if I pay the same price, it must be the same quality. Wrong. Each new person was disappointing. They weren't terrible, but something always felt off, and within a few weeks the cut just looked awkward. I made the trek down to Alex, and couldn't have been happier. I have multiple strange waves and curls in my hair that all go in different directions, and Alex is the only person I've found that understands exactly how to control them. Service business should be compensated by no show clients. Clients should respect cancellation policies. But for this to work, a business must operate as a business, and that includes having a working phone. Things happen, and the business must make it possible for clients to get in touch if something comes up. The phone number listed for Service&Supply does not work. It's the same number published on Apple Maps, their website, Google, et al. We tried calling to say we were stuck in traffic coming from my son's school to our appointment, and to determine if it would be better to reschedule or arrive a bit late. But we couldn't reach them as they have no phone despite listing a number. Once it was safe to pull over we tried sending an email and texting the automated Square confirmation text. No reply to either. Eventually they charged us for not showing. We explained the situation. They could have apologized for not having a phone and rescheduled and kept the two of us as clients. Instead they said our email and text came too late. Of course I have the record of having tried to call them earlier which we will share with the credit card company. This isn't a good way to treat customers, even those who fully support the importance of respecting businesses and their policies. But for this to work, you need to pay your phone bill. You may not publish false contact information about your store. They need to do better. read more
