The lady who answered the phone was incredibly rude. She loves to just talk over you and won't let you finish a sentence. She said she is 100000 percent certain that her tech knocked on the door twice before leaving. When asked if she was there at the time, she said no, but she was 10000 certain her tech would never do that. However the tech never knocked or wrang the door bell, he walked up, left a note and left. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS, run as fast as you can. The customer service is horrific. The lady who wants to argue and over talk you should be fired, she needs a career when she doesn't have to speak to anyone. She got defensive when I asked her multiple times if she was going to let me speak and said she as canceling my appointment, never tried to resolve the issue. I'm about to describe a nightmare, a looong story very short, but with outstanding support and service from this excellent business. It's Tuesday morning; open my kitchen door to the garage and discover a water covered floor; Yep, my water heater was streaming water everywhere. The Gremlins who destroy the joys of happy home ownership attack again ! Quickly called upon a neighbor to come over, climb up into the closet area to shut off the water. Alas, the handle to turn off the water @ the unit appeared to be stripped, so some water still flowed. Contacted American Home Shield who assigned this great company, SCP, with whom I had had a previous experience in 2018 when my garbage disposal died. They were scheduled to arrive two days later on Thursday a.m. YAY, Jonathan arrived early within the window of time scheduled; I was delighted as he was the young man who had been on the previous call in 2018. Friendly knowledgeable and anxious to help, he made a temporary fix to attempt to shut off the water at the heater, connected a hose to the water heater to drain the unit to ready for replacement, Here's where the nightmare begins. He could not locate the water shut off valve in the yard which was necessary since the water could not be completely shut off at the unit. I knew where it was but upon going to the area of the yard where it was supposed to be, no sign of it was there. Contacted my HOA per Jonathan's suggestion to request their help; Was assured that the HOA's plumbers would be notified to come out. Unfortunately it took over TWO WEEKS for them to get here due to their work load & locate the box with the valve as apparently over many years the box had been buried deep with the growth of the landscape, etc. Jonathan's attention throughout this sequence of events was incredible; he made several trips here checking on the status of the work by the association plumbers and when notified the work was complete late one afternoon, he was here early the next morning and replaced the heater. The horror story being...almost three weeks WITHOUT hot water, after washing dishes and my hair in the sink in cold water & lots of "bird baths", as grandma used to call them, from a bowl of warm soapy water heated on the stove, it was sheer joy, Christmas in October, to finally take a long hot shower. Jonathan & all the staff @ SCP were most patient with a frantic me during this time; couldn't have asked for better or most attentive care. They claimed the leak I had under my pier and beam house was due to "earth movement" and would therefore not be covered under my warranty contract. I work with plumbers and have shown them the issue, there is no way the earth under my house that I've only been in two years could have shifted that drastically. Especially here in Dallas. They only found a reason they could use so that they could charge me for it and keep it out of warranty contract. read more

They were assigned to us by American Homeshield when our hot water heater went out. The sales guy showed up and looked it over and diagnosed a new hot water heater. I asked if we could install a tankless heater instead of another tank by using the money from AHS as part of the upgrade. He said yes and that someone from their office would contact us. No one contacted us to the point we had to contact AHS to ask about status. When we finally got ahold of this plumber, they said a new heater had already been ordered instead of what we asked to happen. I was already 6 days without hot water so I gave up the idea of an upgrade. When they showed up to install it was a heater that was only 2/3 of the size of the one they took out. Our experience with Service Contractors was amazing. Mikayla got us scheduled quickly and kept in touch with us about arrival times. Ryan got the issue diagnosed quickly. We understood our house is older and some parts might not be covered. We have lived here 30 years so we get it. Ryan went over 3 ways to fix the problems - 1. the one we called about 2. the one he caught and helped us fix before it became a major problem and 3. something to think about for the future. Also, gave us 3 payment options. Wrote it all up for us and he made sure we understood. Got scheduled to fix after the weekend. I even had a question the day before and Mikayla was able to get hold of Ryan to get us answers. They came and completed the job. Left the area cleaner than when they arrived. Definitely recommend!!! Beware. These guys operate in cahoots with American Home Shield to deny your claim. You are much better off asking AHS to assign another contractor as these guys are a sure denial. Cody has been to my house twice. The first time, he declared the leak under my sink as "pre- existing" (somehow he has a magical ability to eyeball leaks and determine the date on which they occurred). AHS covered this repair because his conclusion was completely flawed. His second visit was for the same pipe... different spot. He told me that the cabinets or bricks would have to be removed to assess the leak. AHS sent me a denial letter citing this. Of course, when I hired someone to fix it, it didn't require removing bricks or cabinets at all to assess. Just had to cut into the drywall underneath where the pipe passed through and VOILA!! There was the leak! Cody's opinion was completely wrong again!! On a side note, when I told AHS these facts, they asked for pictures proving there was drywall in back of my cabinets, as cutting through drywall to assess would in fact be covered. Once I demonstrated this, they changed the reason it wasn't covered; namely, that my dishwasher had to be moved to access the pipe fully. This takes about two minutes but to AHS this is enough access impediment to deny coverage. A complete and total sham. I wonder how different the outcome would have been but for Cody's completely false claim that my cabinets or bricks would have to be removed for leak assessment. His incompetence or dishonesty... not sure which... has made our lives very difficult twice now. I'd ask AHS for a different contractor as these guys appear to exist to come up with false reasons for AHS to deny your claim. read more

After setting the Appointment , with big Window , Mr James made the Call. Mr. James evaluated , by cutting a sizable Hole in to the Ceiling of the Downstairs Bathroom. He explained in Detail my Dilemma and also explain how a rusty metal Pipes need to be replaced with PVC Pipes. Long Story , Mr James two Days after the Evaluation , with is Sohn came back and within 4 Hours of Hard Work I got new Pipes , new Toilet in the upstairs Bathroom. Mikayla has the worst customer service skills than anyone I have ever dealt with, first they did not show up for the appointment, after I left work and waited a hour for them to show up. I called a dozen times and left voicemails to no avail. I ended up having to take a 2nd leave from work to meet them. They were assigned to me by American Home Shield, which I believe is in cohoots with this company. I have cracks in my toilets and I live alone with my dog and Service Contrators Plumbing told AHS these were not due to normal wear and tear and therefore they will not replace them. Awful customer service and organization. I requested a technician to come to my home in the afternoon/ evening. The text message I received indicated they would be at my home from 8am- 5pm (I work full time and would be required to take off a full day of work versus; only missing a couple of hours). The tech texted me at 10 am indicating they were in the area. I replied I was not in the area and needed to reschedule; no reply received nor did anyone follow up regarding an additional appointment. When I call 972-232-2810, their scheduler she was extremely rude and unprofessional. She had a baby in the background which was crying and she was very abrupt when I was trying to explain I'm unable to take off work for a full day. She said "everyone has a job to do and we can't guarantee a four hour time window, it's based on OUR availability. You need us to do a service for you so you need to be available for us"! Through AHS we contacted Service Contractors Plumbing to figure out what was going on with our plumbing. This was after Baker Brothers diagnosed our problem stating we had no piping underneath the house. Bakers charged $300 dollars to run a camera to show the piping was not there. Didn't sound right since the house was just purchased and remolded. Bakers also left a quote of $3000 to dig underneath the slab to do more investigating. Service Contractors took over and after several hours of going through a thorough systematic diagnostics, they determine that the pipes had breaks in the joints from some of the foundation work that was done as part of the remodel. They spent 2 weeks with a full crew of 4 people painstaking tunneling in the freezing temperatures to repair all of the breaks and faulty repairs the home remodeling flipper created. I never had a service go the extra mile, committed to do the job right and although we incurred more cost in the original estimate, they were upfront and transparent with the charges. Service Contractors are dedicated professionals who I plan to use again if the need arises. I highly recommend them and appreciate their focus of getting the job done right! read more

I have to agree with other reviews that Service Contractors Plumbing is definitely working the system with American Home Shield Warranty. They get paid from the warranty company for the new water heater then drum up a bunch of other charges that are out of warranty to bill the home owner - very high prices to make minor corrections to gas and water lines. Overall, with my home warranty, I ended up paying just slightly less than if I had no warranty and had just called up my own plumber. To make matters worse, our water heater was an emergency situation, and they treated it as if it was no big deal. Because the water shutoff valve to the water heater was broke, we ended up having to shut down water to the whole house because otherwise the tank would continue to fill up (and leak straight back out the bottom). Overall took over 48 hours with no water for them to figure out how to get a P.O. with AHS and get the parts. In the meantime, they weren't able to even help with the shutoff valve to the water heater so we could use the cold water. 48 hours taking care of a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old without any water is not fun. read more

Dishonest company! This company was dispensed to my home for a leaky and corroded shower faucet. The technician (with an attitude) came and said that the "stems" needed to be replaced but that they had to be ordered. Later, I received a cell from American Home Shield indicating that now the company has told them that this issue was due to over-tightening of the faucet! They changed the story and diagnosis since it was not economically beneficial to them based on their contract with AHS. This company has a manager that is extremely rude and should never be able to talk with customers. If I was the owner I would fire her immediately. They offer no good customer service at all. I had requested a morning appointment a week ahead of time and did not hear back from them till the morning of the appointment stating that they could not come out till afternoon. I called to say that I expressly asked for morning, due to fact that I am not available in the afternoons. I was told by the manager that she really did not care about my schedule at all that they work according to their technicians schedule. I do understand that they have others that also want morning appointments, but you would think that my request being a week ahead that they should be able to accomodate me someplace between 8:00am and 1:00pm. If not they should have notified me prior to the morning of the appointment. Through AHS I contacted Service Contractors Plumbing to find out what was going on with the plumbing in the master bath. They took the $100 and made up a huge lie and a phony $2000 cost of a toilet repair. The said the earth was pushing up on the pipe and making the toilet flange rise up and the toilet was rocking and the flange then had to be "Jack Hammered" out of the concrete to do this repair. Truth from an other plumber was the flange anchors needed replaced and toilet caulked to tile floor , toilet is now solid no leaks, NO thank to the lairs Service Contractors Plumbing. The shower has 3 knobs the diverter valve just needed a rubber washer, they said the tile must be removed from the wall to do the work "LIES" . I replaced the washers 2 years ago , im now out of town So again took the $100 and left stating they don't do tile... THEY CANT FIX ANYTHING these are simple items they lied about just to take the easy 100 and leave. My house is in Forney , Call Forney ONLY Plumbers. read more

This company is in with AHS on denying claims and avoiding customers. THey sent one of their rip off artist plumbers to my house and he left saying more info was needed to proceed. Dead silence from everyone including AHS. I called them and their receptionist, Tina, another liar that works for them said they were there and the plumber needed authorization from AHS on whether the repair would be covered if he had to cut through the wall rather than handle from outside. She said she would call me back. Two days later, still no contact. AHS put me on hold 20 minutes and hung up on me so I called the plumbing co AGAIN. Tina promised to find out what's going on and call me back. Well, as you guessed, AGAIN no call back. I had to call them and was told the claim was denied because my outdoor faucet was missing parts. What? It goes from it's covered and we need authorization to it's not covered. By the way, another plumbing company had already diagnosed it as a broken aerator but since I didn't know that and it wasn't on the original work order AHS required ANOTHER $100 to send ANOTHER plumber, this time to deny the claim. It doesn't take a magician to figure this one out. AHS saw that it was going to cost them money so they denied the claim and told their crooked plumber to 'DIAGNOSE" it as missing. Im reporting them to the BBB and Attorney general. They are both crooks. This company is a joke. When you call the office they have a recording saying they are helping other customers so leave a message or stay on the line and they will be right with you. I left a message and never got a call back. I waited on hold for 15 minutes and no one answered. The were assigned by my home warranty company to replace a water heater. They scheduled an appointment and were supposed to be at my house between 10am and 2pm. At 6pm the tech finally showed up and then because I had shut the water off to the water heater because it was leaking he told the warranty company that I had tampered with the unit and he could not diagnose the problem. I had told him to just turn the valve to open the water line and he could see the water coming out of the bottom of the unit. He didn't bother to do that and so my home warranty company denied my claim and would not pay to have it replaced. DON'T BE FOOLED BY POSITIVE REVIEWS! My story is just like others ... American Home Shield contracted them to clear a clogged toilet that was backing up into my shower. Cody, technician who claimed 20 yrs of experience, determined roots in the main line and 20 ft of cast iron from my house to the street had to be replaced for $7800. After a little research that price seemed too high so I called other plumbers and they all agreed. One said to call the city (311) and they arrived in an hour, used a snake with a camera, checked the pipes from clear out in my yard to the street and back to my house, as I watched, and there were NO ROOTS, no cracks, no nothing! Cody determined roots without a camera (impossible), and didn't even try to clear the clog through my shower. No water in front yard, no issues with the plumbing in the rest of the house... all signs that he was wrong. I called Cody, his answer was well I must've cleared the roots with the pressure. NO, It was still clogged! I spoke to office manager, McKayla, who was obviously used to receiving these type of calls because her response was similar. She lacked basic customer service skills and had zero professionalism. The next day it was fixed for $150. READ ALL REVIEWS... my guess is the positive ones are paid for. read more

The best thing about my experience is that the guy admitted to me they they are very expensive and that I should call another company to get a better quote! This company mainly works with home warranty companies - not the customer directly. So they bill extremely high. My kitchen sink drain pipe broke, just under the (exterior) wall before it connected into the sewer line. It's obviously been repairs before because the concrete had already been cut away, and there were hose clamps on the pipe. Mind you, the pipe is less than 6" from the outside of the wall and the moisture had already eroded away most of the dirt around it so the pipe itself was fully visible. Minimal digging would have been required to make room to get your hands in there to make the repair. Yet this company wanted to charge $2,800!!! I asked if they could go any lower, so he called the boss and they lowered it to $2,200. Are you kidding me?? And that's when he explained that they don't normally work directly for the customer and their prices are very high. He then urged me to get another quote, saying it would definitely be much lower. Uhm, yeah. I don't have that kind of money! Of course I still had to pay them $89 just to come out and take a look at it. I think they were here less than 15 minutes. And I think that's the first time I've ever had to pay a service fee and not have the company do the work. Oh, and if you're wondering, another company came out and fixed it for $500. Still seems a little expensive, considering it only took 45 minutes. But hey, it's fixed and I didn't go into debt! read more

Do not engage with this company, specially through American Home Shield. Service Contractor Plumbing rep showed, I explained the situation, he looked at the water heater, try to ignite the pilot couple times, then he said: I need to get the replacement part. We'll call you when ready. He left. the entire "diagnostic" time took 5 minutes. I never heard back from them. I called the following Tuesday, a day shy of one week since the rep visit. They told me to wait for their call. called again Thursday, no part yet and no ETD. I checked online, the part is available everywhere, even in Amazon on a 2 day delivery. I called them again, left a vm, never heard back, called again, Tina picked up, told me they have their internal ordering process. Called American Home Shield. There is nothing recorded. just the visit. SCP did not submit any diagnostic to AHS which is supposed to be standard protocol. It is Friday now, I am stuck between SCP which works only Monday-Friday and AHS which has a pretty cumbersome process to change my claim to another company. or so they say.. horrible experience read more
