We decided to look for recommendations in my neighborhood mom's group and follow up those by referencing Yelp reco's. Decided to call Speake's Plumbing and so glad we did! We called on a Thursday afternoon and left a message and received an immediate call back. They said someone could come out the following day. Speake's was excellent about communicating and we opted in to receive text messages. They let us know that someone would come by between 10-2 on Friday. And they did! Enter Mike on Friday afternoon around 1:30! We showed him our bathroom and he could smell the sewer gas too! We had kept the door closed to keep fumes down to the rest of the house. Also opened a window. After he removed the toilet and scraped off the wax he found the real problem. He came to show us what he discovered. There was a gap between where the flange and the drain pipe meet. Mike fixed the pipe and replaced the flange with a new beautiful brass one. This is the only pic I took. We love our Toto toilets and asked Mike to replace the insides with a new flush valve kit since the current one looked really old. He replaced the toilet and cleaned everything up. We paid and he sent our receipt via email. The price seemed in-line and we were very happy with Mike and the service he provided. We will definitely call Speake's Plumbing again if a plumbing issue arises.

My wife called Military Plumbing and was told that they would have someone out today, 5/15/26, between 5pm and 7pm and that there would be a $199 fee for coming out the same day. My wife was told that if someone cancelled their appointment, the plumber would be out earlier than the appointed time. Nobody showed up during that window. My wife called back and talked with someone who said they would contact the driver and have the driver call my wife. By 10pm, nobody had called my wife. I called and talked to someone in their 24-hour call center and was told that they got a manager involved and the manager would research the issue and call my wife back. My wife needed to leave my mother-in-law's house today and head back home for appointments all next week. This debacle has cost them travel time and they may be having to cancel doctor appointments over this. This is unacceptable business practices, and I will be reporting this to the Better Business Bureau. ** EDIT - They called the very next morning, apologized and sent someone out immediately.
