They do no show up between the hours they tell you. They don't call, and the technician, who came after I said I would reschedule, was unapologetic and arrogant. It's the second time they have done this and there will not be a 3rd. You can't speak to anyone in charge locally so obviously management is not doing it's job either. If I could give them less than 1 star, I would. Please stay away from this company. Two years, "new" units were installed under a rental contract and it has been a joke. The air stopped blowing out, and after a number of times of sending out technicians, we were told that the flippers needed to be replaced for air flow, but it was not covered under the contract. So, $4,000 later, we are still having the same issue with temps in the house at 78 degrees or higher in the summer heat. On top of that, every time they have to come out, our schedules have to changed around. Do yourself a favor if you're considering central air and heat services, scratch this sorry company off your list. read more

I am extremely disappointed and disturbed by the unethical business practices of Komfort Air Service Experts. They took advantage of my elderly uncle, who is a Veteran, by the way, by pushing him into a lease agreement for an HVAC unit instead of clearly offering or explaining traditional financing options. Leasing an HVAC system is highly unusual and far more expensive in the long run, and it was evident they took advantage of someone who trusted them. In fact, he has already paid for the unit twice over now and they still won't honor the contract OR let him out of it, we even offered a good faith pay out and they came back with an offer of an exorbitant of money that my uncle cannot afford to pay! To make matters worse, they have not upheld their end of the contract. The lease clearly stated regular maintenance would be included -- yet they have failed to follow through, ignoring multiple requests and phone calls for scheduled service. This neglect not only breaches the contract, but puts the system (and my uncle's comfort and safety) at risk. This kind of predatory behavior -- especially toward seniors -- is unacceptable. I would strongly urge others to carefully read the fine print and consider looking elsewhere for HVAC services. A reputable company should operate with transparency, integrity, and honor their contracts. Sadly, that has not been our experience with Komfort Air Service Experts. read more

This team was here to install a tankless hot water heater. This was the 4th attempt. - The first team tried 3 times (and the foreman was eventually fired by the company due to incompetency.) - 4th attempt to install a tankless hot water heater 14 months later. This team came out today, backed over my son's Basketball goal. w/ their big truck. Then when working in attic fell through our attic. Very RECKLESS!!! The office never called me or my husband to tell if they had a "contractor" on the way to fix the dry wall issues..? - After 2 & half hours later I called Komfort Air, office asking when the repairs would be fixed? Or just to get an update..They were no managers in the office to help answer questions... The receptionist was rude, she talked over me...(told me a email was sent to an electrician) well, we needed a **drywall repairman???. And it would have been professional for the company to have updated me on what was done on their end.. - So I had to outsource my own *drywall repair man at 2:30 on a Friday afternoon. I was not going to have a hole in my attic in June.. (Myself and my children have asthma) This is a SLACK, unprofessional company!!! DO NOT USE THEM! Whenever I have work done in my home by other companies they park on the street. They do not try to squeeze into our drive. This company damaged our property twice in one afternoon. - NO ONE FROM Management contacted me after I was told that someone from the management team would contact me and it's now going on 10:20 Friday evening. I stand by my review. The installers did a very nice job and attempted to sweep the floor and clean up their mess. (HOWEVER AGAIN No one from management or from the office bother to reach out to me when I was told someone would after the damage was done to my home into my property...) - I found a follow up in the follow-through very disappointing from Komfort. - my family has purchased a $80,000 HVAC system for my, And lastly we found where the team disconnected the pipe from the hot water heater tank and left this vent upside down in our attic! - It's ALSO BEEN A MONTH LATER, comforter never got the state to inspect our Tankless hot water heater...? And after I brought another plumber in to inspect their work, this TANKLESS the system would not impact inspection, management met with us once, And has HAS NOT call back to check on the repairs. It took This system was for our Viet-Nam era, Air Force veteran Dad who we are taking care of because he is home bound. They came out and sold a system that was too big for the house. MAY 23 The sales man pretty much got a sale on the biggest system and told us that the ductwork would be around $ 5K. But first they want to try and let the system "blow it out". And then try to clean the ducts that are coil, which would destroy them, you don't do that. I have HVAC/Filtration/And ductwork cleaning experience. WRONG-NO LOGIC AT ALL. JUNE 23 Responded to text thanking me ,that they needed to follow up with ductwork re:severe allergies. Explained in detail at the beginning along with the whole system needed to be replaced. NOVEMBER 23 After dropping the ball and not following up, being called by my wife, they came back out and quoted $8k. Left. Came back from car and quoted 7800, left. Said they would come back to hammer out final pricing the next day(SATURDAY). Never showed or called. Anyway... it's is Tuesday and Antwon a Veteran is on the way to check out the situation. Again. No one noted the $5k estimate like my wife did. Anyway, I am giving them the chance to do what they should have done right the first time. Let's see what happens and I will make another update! UPDATE: Antwon, a USMC vet came out and looked at everything. He is sending me a quote on around $5200 and financing. I know Marines do it right the first time! TBC... Just got the quote.. Had a new furnace installed by Komfort Air 3 years ago, unit was not installed elevated from the drip pan, nor was a recommendation was made to upfit the condensation drainage, less than 3 years later, last week, in addition to a diagnostic charge to evaluate the furnace, still under manufacturer warranty, that they installed, they charged a fee just to come to the house. The technician was unable to troubleshoot beyond what I had already performed without having to call others to help, Finally, their quote to replace the under warranty part was twice the price of several others. read more

Mr. Jason Parker is a true professional. I was up in the Waxhaw NC area this weekend and met Jason at a gas station. My wife and I have been having issues with our upstairs thermostat staying at the temperature we need. He took the time to speak with my wife over the phone and discussed possible reasons why we were having the temperature setting problem upstairs. I wish I could put a 0 star but 1 is too good for them. Had them come over to check our furnace since no heat was coming in downstairs. They came out and told us our furnace was pretty much dead and would need to pay $9000 for 1 new furnace!!! Seriously ridiculous! Reached out to a very reputable company who came over the next day and told us nothing was wrong other than a sensor that needed to be cleaned and adjusted....paid a grand total of $180. Great service and customer friendly staff! We had an ac break in summertime and the technician met us to evaluate the repair. We ended up replacing it because of the multiple issues. They had a fast response as we are customers for maintenance of the ac. They were able to give us a quick quote that day and then schedule replacement of the ac within two days. HORRIBLE service. After not having AC for 12 days, they simply did not show up for our appointment on Friday, with no call or explanation. I sent a text message and got no reply. Sunday he replied that he was out of town and would follow up. Monday, after still not hearing from them I called to ask why they hadn't came and they had no idea what happened or why no one came. They say Wednesday is the earliest they can come. Today, Wednesday, I called to confirm the appointment at 2pm because I hadn't heard from anyone. I was assured we were the next stop. Now at 5pm they called and cancelled our appointment because its too late in the day. They'll come "at some point tomorrow". How is this acceptable customer service?! Buyer beware. Insist in all details in writing before agreeing to a purchase or service when offered "Advantage" payment plan schemes. Read carefully before signing any agreement. These folks are very polite and friendly when soliciting your busness, and will make monthly payment plans seem reasonable, but my advice is to get all the details in writing. I'm 75. When I recently awoke with no hot water in my home and Komfort Air responded, I was offered a purchase/finance agreement on a new tankless water heater. Sadly, when I later read the details on a document that was emailed to me, I learned what I signed was a service/lease agreement from Service Experts, a large company that now owns Komfort Air. The techs from Komfort Air told me this was "an emergency" and I mistakenly trusted them. When I signed on the bottom line of a very long and complex legal document - presented to me in my garage at the bottom of a notebook computer screen - I made a big mistake. I later read the entire document and discovered that I was misled and taken Advantage of by this company. As a result I'll pay monthly for the rest of my life, many times what this water heater should have cost me, with no fair and reasonable remedy available to me. read more

This is a follow up to my review of 09/08/2021. Please refer to that review. To recap. My HVAC quit cooling and Komfort Air tech came out and performed a minimal examination of the unit. He told me that the condenser was leaking and needed to be replaced. He stated that it would take 2 to 3 months to get parts to fix the problem. Later, Jason, a salesman for the company called me and confirmed that it would take 2 to 3 months to get the parts. He then tried to talk me onto getting a total new system for $11000.00, the price of which he stated that, thru some program that they had, I would eventually get all of that money back and the unit "Would end up costing me nothing!" A few days later, I had a Morris Jenkins tech come out. He shortly found out that their was a broken piece on the CONDENSOR ONLY.......which was promptly replaced the next day. (Notice,.... NO 2 to 3 months delay to get parts) And "NO", he said that I did not need a new system. BTW......Komfort Air missed out....because of the EXCELLENT SERVICE that I had received from Morris Jenkins, I had them put in a totally new HVAC system for our upstairs floor. BEWARE of this company. No diagnosis of the part needing replacement.....pressured to buy a totally new system because replacement part taking long time to get.....(Morris Jenkins replaced the next day) ect. read more

Buyer beware!! We tried a couple of times to get Komfort air/Service experts to fix what turned out to be the damper motor that they installed incorrectly. Instead of just fixing the damper motor we were offered to cut a hole in the ceiling to drop a cable to manually open and close the damper. Very sexist serviceperson who would only talk to my husband. They proceeded to tell us that they were getting dangerous CO readings so we should change all of the ducts. The ducts are only 13 years old. Since I am a retired firefighter and my husband is a paramedic, we took our own readings. Guess what no CO readings! This was also confirmed by another HVAC company. They also confirmed our ducts we're fine. So this company cost us about $1600 for the burned out motor and the gas bill. We had been trying to get them to fix the problem for 6 months. read more

We recently replaced our hot water heater in our attic. This was a very tedious and difficult job. We had a few hiccups along the way, but everything was resolved. We want to give a shout out to Soloman and James for working so diligently and getting the job done to our satisfaction! They were so professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Beware of Komfort Air aka Service Experts with their payment plan. My water heater had broken and one of their representative came to my home. The rep assured me the whole replacement which also included a lifetime warranty and repair and maintenance was $2400. He said they had a repayment plan with no interest at a rate of $42 a month and I wouldn't be billed until about 3 months. I did mention I had insurance on my water heater but the rep told me my insurance wouldn't cover my heater because it wasn't up to code. It was my mistake not to double check with my insurance company but I believe him. Here is where they deceive the public. You sign these contracts from their small tablets BIG MISTAKE!!! What I signed for was a LEASE for my water heater I was NEVER told by the representative that it was LEASE for 10 yrs at the rate $42. SO DISHONEST AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!! OF COURSE NOW I HAVE TO GO THROUGH ALL THESE HOOPS TO BUYOUT OF THIS CONTACT AND THEY WILL NOT COME AND PICK UP THEIR HEATER. I would NEVER do any business with this company!!! Be very careful with the contracts because they are leasing their products. read more

My HVAC stopped working about two weeks ago. Service tech came out said that there was a leak in the condenser. There are many parts to a condenser.....technician did not use his Freon sniffer tool to find leak, stating that it would not turn on...tech did not spray to find leak.....His tech notes only stated "System is completely out of Freon. Leak is coming from condenser..... Jason (Salesman) gave options for the buy back program". Stated that part would take 2 to 3 months to get.....Buy back program = buy a new unit. $$$$$....I requested a senior tech to come out (12 to 2)......I waited all day with multiple calls as to where the tech was.....he finally came out around 6:30 but could not do anything because it was raining. (I had previously told the staff secretary that it was raining but they sent him out anyway.) Finally had Morris Jenkins tech come out to verify that the condenser was bad. Significantly less money than buy back program. Not good...... poor evaluation by tech.......Jason (Salesperson) persistent about me buying a new unit (around $10,000). NOT NICE! NOT GOOD! read more

They told me my coils were rusty and needed to be replaced. Sent an "estimator" out to tell me what it would cost. The "estimator" proceeded to quote me not the coils, but a whole new system. He didn't quote the total cost, he quoted me a monthly payment--didn't say how long I'd have to make that monthly payment. He finally quoted the coil repair when I pressed him, but it wasn't a formal quote, it was an email, not on letterhead, no detail as to what work would be performed. I had 2 companies come out and do a second opinion, they both stated that my system was performing fine, was in good shape, and that MY COILS ARE ALUMINUM AND CAN NOT RUST!!! Stay away from these guys. They only care about lining their pockets, not their customers. read more

Very knowledgeable, he made me feel confident that he could/would get the unit up and working. I had a maintenance plan with Killingsworth that was transferred to Komfort Air. I called them because one of my units was short cycling. The tech came and said I had a blown fuse. He replaced the fuse and went outside. He came back inside to tell me that my unit was on it's last leg and I will need to replace soon. About 2 hours later it started short cycling again. I placed another service call and the same tech came back the next day. He was here all of 5 minutes and said the unit needs to be replaced and left. About 2 hours later a salesman from Komfort Air came and quoted me $13K to replace one unit. I told him to let me think on it and got a second opinion from someone else the next day. Another company spent their time to properly diagnose the problem. A damaged control board and thermostat from a power surge and my condensation line was clogged. All repairs were done for $800.00. He said it is true I will need another unit in the next 1-3 years but he could pretty much replace both units and my furnace for around $13K, which includes a warranty. So, if you want to get shortchanged on service and price gouged, Komfort Air is the company you want to call. If you're smart you'll look elsewhere. And of course, my maintenance plan with them has been cancelled. So Komfort Air, please stop emailing and lose my number. If I could I would rate you at 0 stars. read more

I set up a time for them and let them know in advance that the unit was on the roof. I drove out and waited at a vacant condo just for them to call and tell me they didn't know that and didn't assign the right number of people to the job or have a truck that could take the ladder.
