Had John Bonner come out today as we have no air. He checked everything least 3-4 times checking every last wire and tested everything the same. Turns out we need a new zone board. We are going to wait for the estimate from Service Experts and know this won't be cheap. But the service from John couldn't have been better. He explained everything as he was doing it as I watched and chatted with him about it. I hope we have John again and appreciate also that he's a veteran and thank him for his service. read more

We had a technician come to check a AC unit that was not working. The Freon level was read and determined that there would need to be extensive search to determine where there was a leak. It was recommended to replace the unit as it would cost less. The salesperson asked if we would get more quotes we said yes. Glad we did as it was fixed in 30 minutes, instead of replaced for 11,000.00. The second HVAC professional also informed us that the price quoted was extremely high to replace that unit. (Seconded by a 3rd HVAC company.) There were also questions on the Freon reading as the settings did not match the size unit we needed to work on. This was determined by the subsequent HVAC company who looked at our service report, he said none of it made any sense. When I called and requested my 99.00 back as the whole conclusion of the visit by them was erroneous I received a bit of a run around asking for more details. I sent an email with an explanation as to why this was a visit that was a waste and should be complimentary as it was erroneous but no reply. read more

I had a technician out for a leak near my furnace in July 2023. The A/C was continuously running and would not shut off. While the technician was in the process of making a repair, somehow the wire from my furnace to my second floor thermostat was clean cut. Not broken, snapped or frayed- a clean cut. They told me it was now my responsibility to make the repair with an electrician even though the Strogen's technician cut the wire. The electrician I had from Quality Electric informed me that the wire was cleanly cut and not accidental. Strogen's has denied any and all responsibility for the cut wire. They told me I was on my own for the $682 bill for running a new wire from the second floor to basement unit. If a technician from Strogen's intentionally cut a NECESSARY wire, why did they not rectify the situation or find an electrician to do it instead of making the repair for their mistake my financial responsibility. They're supposed to fix things, not damage more in the process and leave the customer to figure it out Do NOT recommend this company! Edit to my review: there was another one star review with the opinion that the customer was taken advantage of because she is a single woman. Unfortunately I feel as though they did the same to me and clearly have done so to others as well. Strogens recently replaced our boiler and hot water tank and were awesome to work with. It was a 3-day job, and I had to reschedule multiple times due to extremely cold New Hampshire weather. They never complained. Once the job started, they showed up on time, were friendly, and did very clean work (and took all trash with them when they left). The pipework is really nicely detailed, and they took the time to show me the basics of the system. They lied to me about something called the advantage program which has resulted in me paying $4000 in $115 monthly payments for two boiler cleanings. That's right 4k to replace a filter and dust some parts off. I was told this would pay down my boiler to own it over time come to find our they're just ripping people off by charging a regular monthly payment for something that costs a couple hindered dollars a year. read more

I called Strogen's out to look at furnace and was told it need to be replaced so repair waited for sales guy to show up and gave me my options. So far my option has been 4 days without heat and no word from sales! I called a company called Cheap Heat and AC on a day they were closed and they returned my call and they are already quoting about $1000 less! So Strogen's is no longer a viable source of repair Update! They reached out on yelp for me to contact them and still I have heard nothing. It has been 10 days since they came to the house with no heat and no word. Cheap Heat came out on a day they are normally closed and have installed the new furnace. It was the same one Strogens quoted and it cost me $1100 less. It's all about the service which I think they need to drop from their name! Crooks. I'm a new homeowner, prior owner used them. I called for service. Tech was very friendly and seemed knowledgeable. He was there for about 10 minutes and diagnosed the issue. So far, so good. Then I get the bill. Almost $300 For a 10 minute diagnosis! They claim it is because they are a "premium company" and therefore cost more. They didn't seem to be "premium" compared to any other company Ives used when I lived elsewhere. I will be a loyal customer for a different company that charges reasonable prices for their service. read more

I called strogens to come fix my AC unit, they showed up, "fixed it" charged me $365 and it stopped working again 10 minutes after the tech left. I had them come out to fix my furnace and they came out and replaced the nozzle. I told them it keeps clogging that there is something more wrong with it. They were convinced they had it fixed. Lasted just over a week and it stopped working. They wanted to charge me full price to come out and look at it again. We settled for $45 off. The owner Bob Strogen told me they would have someone call me and I never heard from them again. They knew I had no heat and they blew me off. I waisted $197 buy using them. I can change my own nozzle for $7 and 20 minutes of work. read more

This is a review for the sales team not the technicians. I scheduled an appointment to have an assessment and quote for a new furnace. I live out of state so I had to take the day off work to drive up to NH. I was told the sales rep would be there between 2-5pm on a Friday. I called in the morning and confirmed my appointment and asked for the rep to call me before arriving so I could meet him at my house and notify my tenant. I waited until 5:20pm. No call. No one showed up at my house. I called the main office but it was closed by then on a Friday. To say this is unprofessional doesn't even scratch the surface. I had to take a day off work and spend time and money driving to NH and the Strogen's sales rep didn't show up or bother calling to reschedule. I will not be using Strogen's to install a new furnace in my house...thousands of dollars worth of work for the company just thrown away. read more

I had my yearly gas furnace check up today and the service tech, Ryan LeBlanc was great! He was very pleasant and personable but got right to work after making quick friends with my dog. I showed him to the furnace, he asked a few quick questions and got right to checking the furnace over. Ryan came back upstairs me to let me know what he was finding out about the condition of the furnace. He told me need to have a part replaced as it was in danger of failing. That would not be a good in the middle of a winter's night! Ryan explained my options and checked on a price for the part and repair. I held off on installing it right away but Ryan included the info on the receipt so I can make arrangements to get it taken care of very soon. Ryan was very professional. Once happy I am now severly disappointed. I have called twice about the new Viessmann boiler they installed and have had no return calls. I think I got taken for a fool. This unit, according to the salesman, was going to save me money. Now with 3 less people in the house, my gas bill has been going up and up. I was supposed to have my boiler serviced by Strogen's and was given a time frame between 12pm-4pm. I was called around 1pm to let me know they were running late (which was very nice and my reason for giving them two stars). I then called at 2:30pm to just check in and was told they were still behind and it would be closer to 4, which was totally fine and still in the allotted time frame. I called back at 4:30 as they still had not come and was told it was going to be awhile as they were still at the job that was ahead of me. I totally understand that things come up but the lady I spoke with was incredibly rude and very unhelpful. I told her I would like to cancel as I had already been waiting at my house for almost 5 hours at which point she told me they couldn't reschedule until February and muttered "sorry". Hopefully it was just a fluke but I was Very unimpressed by the customer service here. I won't be rescheduling. read more

I am building a new house this year in Farmington, NH. I contacted Strogen's to see about getting an estimate for plumbing, heating and cooling. First I tried scheduling a time to meet to discuss my needs. According to Michele, their accounts payable/parts coordinator, Mark, their technician, was booked full of jobs and had no time to meet with me for the next several weeks. I asked about emailing her a PDF copy of my plans so he can review them when he has time and get back to me with a quote. Figuring it's a new construction home, the work should be pretty straight forward. After 2 weeks I contacted Strogen's again to check on the progress. Turns out Mark was ill and would be out of the office for about 3 weeks. In the meantime, no other employee could do quotes. Obviously this put me in a bind. After the 3 weeks were up I contacted Michele again. She was now on a vacation for a week. Upon her return I checked in again. She stated she would have Mark call me. While I did receive a call from Strogen's, a day later, no one left a message. I contacted Michele to see if this was Mark calling me. She forwarded my email to Mark asking him. No contact after this. A week after this I contacted Michele again. Again she told me Mark would call and again I received a call from Strogen's but no voice mail. Again, I contacted Michele to see if this was him and she responded that she did not know and that mark was out today for training. It has now been over a total of 6 weeks and I have still yet to even receive a quote! If they are this unresponsive and timely with a quote, I can't even imagine how they are once they are on the job site. read more

Last Friday we called because a gas hot water heater, which was recommended and installed by Strogens stop heating water. After 9 years some things do need parts.... They arrived towards the end of the day which was fine since we were not scheduled. Nice to have a quick response. After the tech diagnosed the problem (needed a flammable vapor valve on the outside of the tank), he called the office and found they had none available to install, they would need to resupply.... They promised to have the part the next day when the supply store opened and return to install the part. I paid a discounted service charge of $84 Friday for the 45 minutes of diagnosis work. Saturday when they returned with the part to install it we were charged $99.96 for the part, $84 service fee, and $90 labor for less than 15 minutes of time on site to install a part where you have two tabs to connect (no screws or dismantling of anything was necessary to install it). That total was discounted $125.09 so the final charge was 148.87 for Saturday. The total price for a 45 minute diagnosis and a 15 minute installation was ($84.00 and 148.87) $ 222.87, seemed a bit excessive. Looking up the part it costs everyday people $45.76, I went to their office because it seemed excessive to double the part price and the time on site seemed excessive. While there I was told that doubling the part price is standard, they do get part discounts from the supplier, that they don't have enough room to keep parts on hand for the equipment they install so they have to go get the parts as needed (so I should be billed for them getting parts) and that I should have paid more in total anyway so be grateful. Those comments just make me wonder what kind of service they really provide. Very nice people telling me how much they overcharge, but it means I will find a simpler appliance repair when I need it next time. read more

Good technician, terrible customer service I had my gas furnace stop working in early December and I called after hours to schedule a service call. I wasn't going to be home the next day so I wanted to set up the appointment for the following day, however, the representative on the phone said that the appointment had to be the next day. I told them it wasn't possible so I'd just call the next day to set up the appointment for the day after. This was a minor inconvenience, but not the sole reason for my rating. When the technician came to my house he was quite thorough and was able to diagnose the problem as a bad pressure switch and was able to get the furnace working temporarily. He mentioned that the part wasn't one that the readily have so they'd have to order it and give me a call when the part arrived to set up another appointment. Fast forward 5 weeks and I still haven't received a call from them. I gave them a call to find out what was going on and the representative mentioned that they still hadn't received the part but she couldn't tell me anything further because she wasn't the one who handled orders. At this point I was fed up with their service so I decided to order the part myself and it will only take 3 days to ship! read more

We used Strogens services on saturday night, 1-14-17, as our furnace stopped working and our plumber recommended them. The guy on the call-service told us the rate was $99 but we were getting $25 off and that he would set it up so it would be deducted automatically. That did not happen. Then the service guy that came to the house attempted to charge us twice for a part. The same part that was initially quoted to be around $200 but when the job was done, the service guy told us it was $360. Overall, we felt taken advantaged of, given the situation we were in, we had no choice. We appreciated the prompt service on a saturday night but the experience left us feeling like we were taken advantage of and thus, will likely not call them again. read more

We've used Strogen's for our business and home for 8 years now. They respond to calls quickly and the technicians have always been polite, professional and knowledgeable. We recently had an issue at our house that took several visits and different technicians to troubleshoot. The owner actually called us to reassure us that they'd stick with the problem until it was solved and they did. He clearly stands behind his business and his name. We did experience a delay once several years ago in getting a quote for new equipment, but they followed though, and maybe the delay was due to the fact that they're busy providing great maintenance service! read more

Never again will I call these people they cant trouble shoot and after multiple tries they finally got it correct after $900 and week of little to no heat in the middle of winter with my Gas Hot Air furnace there motivation was clearly to sell me a new furnace instead of fixing the old one. What a ripoff! Beware! They charge $99 to ring the doorbell and then a flat fee based on a book, no matter what the problem is or how long it takes. My tech fixed my problem in less than 25 minutes and my bill was $249. Their excuse??? We have to go by the rate guide. Bull XXXX! I even asked the person on the phone prior to the appointment what the charges were and they mentioned the $99 service fee but made no mention that it did not include any services. The tech even had to borrow a flashlight and a lighter to relight the pilot... I feel screwed! read more
