There's a certain kind of person who knows their craft really well and has to execute to perfection to satisfy themself. That's who Ted is, and you can tell from the start-- his meticulous attention to detail shines, and it's great to get to talk with the business owner (i.e. the most knowledgeable person) about a job as sensitive as mold remediation at your parents' home. I called three of the big commercial companies, had 2 no shows (they're so busy, I guess?) and the one job estimator that came out clearly didn't have any knowledge beyond the surface (especially about chemicals and mold risks) and was barely trained on taking measurements--if at all. It still took a week to get back a cookie-cutter bid that didn't acknowledge the specifics I asked about in person. Ted came out and had a clear itemized bid to me the same evening. He went above and beyond to help as we navigated the insurance settlement process, and TruOrganic's rates ended up being really competitive with the cookie-cutter companies that use cheap/toxic chemicals. In addition, due to Chinese New Year, I needed the house cleaned the next day, which they worked out a time slot to do for me (Christopher responded within 1/2 hour and right after I was about to sign with another company). The women made every effort to make sure the areas I needed cleaning were scrubbed and wiped of dust, dirt, and grime. They wiped the window blinds, the exterior of cabinets, refrigerator and oven, and they mopped the floors and corners clean. Blanca checked with me to make sure I was satisfied or if I had more concerns (after they cleaned each area) = total of 2 hours. There was a spot they did not dust or mop upstairs, but I let it go because they wiped and cleaned other areas I did not ask for. The only question I have is "Where is my swifter?" because it disappeared from the restroom. Also, I would prefer they empty dirty water from the living room floor into the toilet and not my kitchen sink and they should not refill their bucket to wipe the floor by use of the kitchen sink. There is a faucet and hose outside the front door to refill their bucket and a grate on the street to empty out dirty water, so using my kitchen sink was not appreciated. The reason the review has 5 stars is because Christopher acquiesced my request and charged me days after my Lunar New Year, which I'm truly grateful for, and he gave me a discount as a first time client. That's great business ethics for you!
