Get the Airthings radon detector and it'll give you short and long term readings. Radon levels change depending on the season and time. Once I realized the levels in my home were rising, I called Professional Radon Systems for a consult. The owner, Eric, came out to my home to determine where the radon mitigation system could go and showed me how and where the pipes would be routed. He sent me a quote later that day by email and I scheduled installation a couple weeks later. The install took less than a couple hours, and the crew that came were very courteous. They ran floor coverings down to my basement so they wouldn't track in or out any debris and they cleaned up after themselves. They showed me what to keep an eye on to make sure the fan was working and provided some documents. This whole experience was very nice. I'm grateful to have a liveable basement now. Thanks Pro Radon Systems!

I called DuPage Radon and the very nice woman who answered the phone made it sound like they might cover it, but when she talked to her boss, he said no. Their quote to replace the unit was $400 (they were originally paid approximately $1,200 five years ago) and the soonest they could do it was New Year's Eve. I was able to find the exact same model radon fan at Home Depot for $150 and it literally took me no more than 15 minutes to remove the old unit (and I've never done this before). I'll install the new one when it arrives in the next few days. I don't know about you, but $500 an hour for labor seems excessive to me. Obviously I'm in the wrong profession. Meanwhile, I'm going to remove the DuPage Radon sticker from the cover just out of spite.

He explained the reasons for the design and patiently answered my questions. Then, he provided me a proposal. I felt the price was reasonable and scheduled the installation. On the day of the installation Ruben and Tony arrived around 9 AM in a DuPage Radon Contractors van and introduced themselves. They told me they expected to complete the installation by 3 PM in the afternoon. They appeared to work diligently in the basement and garage, competing the work around 4 PM at which time Ruben took me on a tour to observe the new, functioning mitigation system. I couldn't be happier. The radon readings on my tester immediately started dropping and now measure under 1.00. I would highly recommend DRC.

I wasn't familiar with any specific companies so I reached out to a realtor friend of mine who provided a list of companies. I then started calling around to get quotes. After a couple fails (didn't like customer service or just didn't feel comfortable for one reason or another), I called Radman Radon. I spoke with Nick about the project and he came out the next day to provide a quote. I was very impressed with Nick's knowledge and professionalism and immediately felt comfortable in committing to their company for our install. Today, Nick and Carl completed the installation of a radon mitigation system for our home. We were so impressed with the service and work they did that I wanted to take the time to provide this review. For those of you looking for honest, good people who you can trust to do an excellent job (inside and outside your home) with a radon mitigation system, call Radman Radon. You will not be disappointed. I have attached a picture of the outside of our home so you can see the excellent job they did at concealing the system. This is not an easy task due to the specific requirements needed for code. We are very pleased. Cindy, Winnebago, IL

I called on April 15th with the problem. Nick said the fan was under warranty and he would stop by to replace it. A text from him said he could be here 4/24 to replace it. It's been 3 weeks with several texts and calls by myself and my husband with no response. His website isn't accessible. We have been ghosted regarding this matter.

Update to review 11/26/24 from original 5 star review:…read more I had Trinity back out to my home on 11/26 to replace 4 outdoor wall light fixtures. On the phone, I was quoted that the work would be appx 275-300 dollars to complete. A quote was never emailed to me. On the day of the work, the lights were installed to satisfaction and I approached the technician about some quotes to troubleshoot an outdoor outlet that wasn't tripping as well as to take a look at quoting what it would cost to convert my garage from 15 to 20 AMP service. This took the technician appx. another 45 minutes to quote these issues (which he didn't have time to fix), yet when he brought in the final bill, I was charged a jaw dropping fee of $495. This is a significant departure from the $275-$300 that I was initially quoted, and does not reflect one additional hour of labor. (Even less than that, in reality- closer to 45 minutes.) The tech arrived at 12:00PM and completed all work at 2:38PM, timestamped on my Nest camera. The last 10-15 mins of the time he was at my house he was in his vehicle, presumably writing up an invoice. The bill also incurred a $45 service fee, which was never discussed with me over the phone. In addition, the fact that the technician would not have any ability or time to fix the outdoor outlet that was not grounding properly during my appointment was not discussed with me. I called Phil on the phone who was courteous, but unwilling to adjust the price. He stated that a $45 service fee was standard (and actually stated that I somehow had a 5 dollar discount on mine...) yet I am really struggling to figure out how this would have played a part in the initial quote of $275-300 for a job that was estimated to take approximately two hours of labor. He also stated that he could have charged me for additional screws and caulking supplies.... (This would have been a max of 15-20 dollars). Bottom line- I've had good experiences with Phil and Trinity in the past, and they seem to do good work. But charging me just under $500 to hang four outdoor lights and spend a bit of extra time calculating a plan/quote on how to address additional issues but not having time to address them has been extremely off putting and I can't help but feel taken. I did my best to have a courteous conversation with him over the phone, but again he was unwilling to budge. I've used Trinity in the past but I'm not sure I'll be consulting their services in the future or recommending them to coworkers unless we can address this. Original review: Extremely professional and prompt communication. Showed up on time and performed quality, clean work at a fair price. I will be using this company for all future electrical work.
