Do not ever call ServPro of Providence for any help in cleaning, drying or restoring your house. The entire team is inept, incompetent, a waste of your time and money. Below is just a short summary of our initial engagement, I would have to write a novel to tell the entire saga. Before I go on, note that I've never dealt with my home flooding and figured ServPro would walk me through this process, be on my side and help me understand all steps as any good company with quality customer service would. They, unfortunately, took advantage of my naivety. Our basement flooded in July of this year. When I called to schedule some time for them to come out they were very helpful and scheduled me quickly. A guy named Ivan was scheduled to come to our house, review the damage and set up a plan. On the day he was supposed to arrive he was late but when he arrived he seemed somewhat knowledgeable about what was going to happen and scheduled their actual service for the following Monday which was only a few days away. He said he's send me a contract to sign via DocuSign before the actual work would begin. Monday morning rolls around, no contract has been sent. I texted Ivan he said don't worry about it "he trusts me" and it will be fine. When the team arrived on Monday they started work without a signed contract, however like I said, Ivan assured me this was fine. The team starts tearing up our floors and ripping out baseboards. After they tore out about a 5' section of baseboard and a 6' x 1' section of my flooring they stopped because they found tile they suspected to be asbestos under the flooring. Evidently, they need to test the tile before any more work can be done. In the meantime they left their drying equipment on while I waited for Ivan to come and take a piece of tile for testing. Ivan was supposed to come that day. He never did. He was supposed to come the next day, he never did. He finally came a few days later. It should be noted that anytime I texted he'd rarely respond and I couldn't leave a voice message as his mailbox was full. Then out of the blue I get a contract sent to me in my name that was already electronically signed for me. Yes, you read that right. Someone at ServPro signed the contract for me, on my signature line. I called ServPro and asked to speak with the manager. The receptionist asked what it was about I briefly told her so she took a message, evidently never told their GM and Ivan called apologizing profusely saying it was the wrong contract sent to me. In fact, it wasn't, the contract was in my name, my insurance claim number and my address. They ended up leaving their equipment at our house for well over a month. They never called to check on us, never called to check on their equipment. When I elevated my frustration to my insurance adjuster and the GM at ServPro nothing was done. When I was finally able to speak to Chris about the flooring issue and the hole they left he came out to look at it. He said they'd fix it, however, when I called a few days later he said he had no idea what I was talking about they don't do flooring, that was my responsibility. I swear it was like dealing with tweedle dee and tweedle dumb at this place. Long story short, they never should have even started tearing up my floor they should have only dried the basement. The asbestos testing is not covered by my flood insurance nor is tearing up the flooring. Thank goodness they found the tile, otherwise, they would have left my basement in ruins. In fact, it's now in worse condition than before the flooding. They aren't taking accountability whatsoever and have the audacity to bill me for a piss poor job. Their GM, Chris, sent us a $150 gift card to a restaurant as an apology. It's insulting and I hope that if anyone else ever has to deal with some sort of catastrophic damage to their home in the Providence area that they never work with this inept, incompetent team at ServPro. I plan on filing all the complaints I can on this company with BBB and seeing if I can take them to small claims court as I don't want a penny to go to them for leaving us worse off than before. We had to remove part of our flooring in the closet to be able to cover up the spot and then you'll see the baseboards they completely ripped out. read more

They were taking so long to get started after we made the agreement for them to do the work that we had to hire a lawyer to help them hurry up and get started. After they got started they needed consistent monitoring to make sure they held up what they agreed to and we still ended up with second rate quality work. At first, I was very impressed when Servpro. I had a bad roof leak and damage after a bad storm. They were quick to react sending someone right away and. took lots of pictures and sent someone to put a tarp on the leaking area. I was very relieved and was sure I had found help make things right. 3 weeks or so later, I called to tell them I had heard from my insurance company with a promise of a check for only $2,200.00. they said it wasn't enough to cover the damage and I should dispute the claim with my insurance company. They promised they would follow up. I never heard from them again. Not a follow up call not an email not a text. Obvoisly my payment was not worth their time. My insurance agent said it may have been just as well as they are noted for driving ups huge invoices beyond the insurance coverage. From my dealing, I was not impressed. I had them come out to clean my mother in laws new apartment before she moved in and they did a great job. The kitchen had this weird fake brick wall and a lot of cooking grease had settled into the cracks, Servpro did a really good job of removing it all. We didn't even know it was so bad until we saw the difference. The bathroom floors almost seemed like they were a different color once they were done removing all the grime. I'd definitely call them again. It was pricey for what's probably a general type cleaning at another place, but it was great to know she was squared away in her new spot and worth the price for all the time we saved. It needed more TLC than I think a regular cleaning company would've offered. read more

I called ServPro Providence to deal with the after effects of a leaky toilet... turned out it'd been leaking for a LONG time and there was a lot of damage; ServPro had to dry everything out, remove/replace carpet, clean a basement floor, and rebuild the floor in my bathroom. Every person ServPro sent into my home was great! They were competent, efficient, tried as much as possible not to disturb me (yes, I was working from home), and the repairs look wonderful. They were a pleasure to work with and Anthony Olaes was a good manager of all the things that needed to be done. read more

I have been very very very disappointed with this company. They were hoisted upon me by Liberty Mutual after a pipe burst. The folks who came to the house were reckless at best. They threw away historic wood molding and broke a sink and ceiling fixture. Chris is the manager who has been dodging my calls for WEEKS! Once the reconstruction started, the work moved along VERY quickly. Anthony guided me through the entire process, making the most of the budget available, keeping the lines of communication open and always answering my questions in a timely manner. Mark scheduled the crew who worked in my basement and made sure all work proceeded smoothly. The crews were professional, friendly and respectful. When the work was completed I was AMAZED! I had reached out to SERVPRO after having an air quality test done in my home. It had been discovered that my utility room had HIGH elevations of mold spores. After calling on a Monday they had sent out a project manager and tech to my home to take a look the following day. After a very brief visit I was told I would have a quote in a couple of days. Thursday I had called just to make sure and was told by reception as soon as she gets it she will email it over. Friday called just to confirm this would come through. I had been forced to move my wife and 6 month old out of the home due to his severe allergic reaction to the mold spores. Friday was told by the project manager he would definitely have it to me by days end. Fast forward to Monday called and the woman in reception had apologized and got Harlos (Project Mgr) to call me back. He called and said once again by days end. Now I am writing this for I still have no quote. Basically unless you have some huge insurance backing type job in the tens of thousands, then the small couple thousand dollar(estimated by me..No official estimate) job for a HEPA air scrubbing and treating of the existing wood is not enough for them to make an effort. SMH what a shame. I called Clean Care of New England today and was able to get estimate right over the phone. Stay away from servepro it's franchise BS makes them seem efficient but really it's ran like a poor mom and pop business. read more
