This company is currently in Lincoln, RI. Very dissatisfied with overall service for bathroom demolition and mitigation due to burst pipe. They are quick to answer the phone when they want to acquire the job; then, once they start to demolish your home, service is poor. Employees did not properly inform me throughout the process. The young apprentices on the job seemed to care and were polite, but, the team leader, Ryan (while polite enough), did not set a good example to properly teach them good ethics and the trade. Demo was done w/o my signed authorization (they did not make me aware of this step until after the job was done.) Tore up more tile than necessary. Workers unecessarily removed the toilet which left me w/o one til I could replace. Vapors were disgusting and made me feel ill while sewage pipe was open for a few days. Carried moldy material through my home instead of using a exit door I offered that was in close proximity to the affected area. Did not properly seal affected area. I have respiratory issues, so, these problems were particularly inexcusable. Did not inform me that someone would be back to take moisture readings days following the demo, and I recvd unexpected calls and very impromptu visits to do this. Said dehumidifier would stay for 3 days; they removed it in 1.5 days w/o clear explanation. Seemed like they were in a hurry to get equipment. Insulation was replaced upside-down. They actually asked me if they could use insulation I had instead of providing the materials! I said, "no," of course. Unreal. After the job, I recvd a surprise call from them as they wanted to urgently have me sign authorization (after the fact) and satisfactory completion of the work. In good conscience, I would not sign. I asked for Invoice to be submitted to insurance company; they never provided. I was supposed to get that before the work started. Deceptive practices. Rob said the job would only be a little more than $2500. (as I wanted to possibly consider other companies) Final cost...$3425...Alot more! Rob was quick to answer the phone to get the job, but, was noticeably absent once the job was acquired. He avoided getting the Invoice to me, and did not give any explanation why I could not get it prior to submitting to insurance co. I should've had it before the demo started. I lost confidence in this company after everything I'd experienced. I called and spoke w/the owner, Kevin, to discuss my concerns and report the obvious, significant flaws of the job. Rather than send his people back to correct the improperly installed insulation, he made an excuse that it was only temporary....meanwhile, I have a gaping hole in my floor in the dead of winter w/high heating costs w/no contractor lined up. I was repeatedly told by workers that they would line up a contractor for me to immediately repair the gaping hole in my floor (including Rob who lined up the job). They never did. Kevin didn't give me much time on the phone, quickly cut me off to call Rob and said he'd call back a few hours later. He never did. He asked for my email (I assumed so he could send the Invoice I requested.) Rather, he just wanted it to send me request for payment and NEVER addressed my concerns or sent Invoice. This experience was a disaster, and this company should be held accountable for such blatant disregard for the customer and quality of work. Disgusting they can get away w/this and get so much $$$ for so little work of such poor quality. HIGHWAY ROBBERY! Shame on Cleanworks. Beware... read more
