Well to start with I loved the original owner who moved to Florida. I had appointments with one of…read morethe new owner who I was a OK with. Doctor Miller is an employee who I liked very much. Some of the staff is very nice as well. The problem is the other staff. They are horrible starting with the manager Kelly. Hear is what happened. I called about an appointment and they told me doctor Miller didn't have anything until next week. Then they called me back saying we just had a cancelation. I was like that's great. They told me it was at 5 pm. That is a very hard time for me to get there. But I agreed. So I rearrange my day to get there. Left work at 230 pm, drove an hour and a half home to get my dog, drove an hour to get to the vet, Just to be told it was with another doctor. No big deal except my dog had a major surgery 2 months ago. A large portion of his liver was removed. So you can see why I would want to speak to the doctor that I has taken care of my dogs from the beginning. I don't know about you? But my dogs are part of my family. I want someone who is familiar with my dog and his history in a case like this. Not just reading a file and maybe missing something. If other was just a check up know big deal. But after almost losing him from cancer. No way. So to pick back up back up after I arrive at the vet. They tell me they appointment is with someone else. I said no way. I just changed my whole day around and drove for a total of 3+ hours from work in Chicago to Elgin to Lincolnshire back to Elgin. All during heavy traffic. So the manager comes in and says maybe I should find another vet. I said just give me my records. I told her I would like to talk to the owner. She tells me they are not there. I told her to have one of the owners call me. Suddenly one of the owners is there. Then the owner (who magically appeared) comes in and is completely rude and really shows the true face of the business. Absolutely no apologies for the misunderstanding. Basically telling me that she could careless. Keep in mind I feel there may be something wrong with my dog this whole time. So I decided to take my dog to the emergency room at the university of Wisconsin. Where his surgery was done. Just to wrap this up the new ownership of this hospital not only has driven the prices through the roof. they have also been acquired by new ownership that obviously does not care about the customers or the animals. Just another vet that has become all about the money. I have a feeling that may become more and more evident over time. When businesses have owners like this. Who knows what goes on in the is behind the scenes. If you love your animals and they are family. Go somewhere else. Animal people need to have a vet that cares.

She consistently goes above and beyond for her patients and genuinely cares about each animal she treats. We had been struggling to get answers for our rescue bulldog after visiting several other vets through the rescue organization. The moment Dr. Sutkay met with us, she immediately identified the root of the problem and has done everything possible to guide us through the process. She's been dependable, incredibly knowledgeable, and exceptionally responsive--often reaching out multiple times outside of normal hours to support us. It's such a relief to know our pups are in the hands of someone so dedicated and skilled.

Prior to booking the appointment, I called to ask about pricing and was told the total cost would range between $250 and $280. However, after bringing my dog in and several phone communications about the charges, I received a bill for over $500. In addition to the certification, I was charged for an office visit, professional service fees calculated per minute--twice--as well as a hospital team care fee. None of these extra charges were mentioned during the phone call. While the doctor's service was fine, what's also unacceptable is that I was required to leave my pet there for the entire day. This led to additional charges such as hospital team care and physical exams, which were neither communicated beforehand nor necessary for a standard international certification. An international certification should be a routine vet appointment. There is no justification for adding on excessive or unrelated fees. It's extremely disappointing to be quoted one price, only to be charged nearly double after the fact. Even if some costs vary, that should be made clear upfront. This lack of transparency and misleading communication is unacceptable. Customers deserve to know exactly what they will be paying for before committing to a service.

Also failure to fully disclose full prices before they do the tests so they can pressure you into the OWP. I just adopted a dog who was seen by WOLF ANIMAL HOSPITAL on 2/6. It is 2/9. He was taken in by the rescue facility for an oral growth of some type. The rescue facility said it was "nothing". Hmmm. OK. It was enough to warrant a trip to the Veterinarian. The rescue facility had no paperwork, no report, no receipt. The female receptionist at Wolf Animal Hospital confirmed it was "nothing". Okie dokie. The old blow off again. Oh, she told me that the rescue had and would give me everything. I said ok, BUT, I have the dog. I have no report. I have nothing stating that it is NOTHING. Answer, "Oh, well sometimes the vet makes notations in the chart later. Later than what? Saturday is the major meet and greet adoption day. So if that paperwork is not charted or faxed to the facility any prospective adopter will not have the opportunity to see that report. And maybe like me they will ask questions. It is interesting that the reviews I am reading about this hospital are so complimentary. Maybe Dr. Setlock is amazing but he doesn't know that his staff is not. Many times the doctors have no idea because they are busy being fabulous doctors while their staff are rude and argumentative. That's ok. I adopted the doggie. I am happy. I will be seeing my amazing Vet on Thursday. I will have him do an oral exam. I will let him tell me it is nothing to worry about. OR....keep an eye on that, watch the size, watch the color. He will chart it instantly and his staff who would never speak to a client in that fashion will print me a copy of every part of our visit. Hint: to the receptionist.....maybe you should ask the person calling for your help if they have 30 years of experience in the veterinary field BEFORE you try to blow them off with your "It's NOTHING reply. As a result of the surgery, our dog now has facial nerve (cranial nerve VII) paralysis! This was a simple surgery, and now our loving dog has this issue to deal with! When we took her back to be checked out, as her top eyelid was not shutting, her left ear wasn't moving or her left nostril, Dr. Dadkhahs only suggestion was to get an MRI - SUPER - lets spend $6,000 for what? I'm not saying Google is a good doctor, but it was more effective in diagnosing our dog than this "vet surgeon"! Just awful pre and post care! A good vet surgeon would have waited to do surgery Vs rush rush rush - to see if the mass cell would go completely which was looking like it was. Additionally, for someone who's been to school for this type of stuff, not to identify that she has facial nerve (cranial nerve VII) paralysis is just flat out DUMB!! Not only this, but she denied that there was no issue with her surgery. RIGHT!! If your dog needs a checkup - great place - if your dog needs good care - NOT THE PLACE!

He was extremely friendly and took the time to get to know my pup and any concerns I had. Total time spent there was 60 min, 40 being with Dr. Marrinan.
