My sister called a couple of days ago she was upset her dog was sick having a hard time breathing. Webeen customers for a few years. refuse to help to her to drive her dog a extra 20 mile to Libertyville Hospital. we are 10 minutes away they want to send her 30 minutes away. I called and ask to speak with the owner, The manager called and said they are not equipped for emergency. saw a great vet who said he had reverse sneezing. I have been a client here for 3 years after moving to the area. Honestly, I love the doctors and staff. My issue is if you call in the morning with a sick pet they usually cannot get you in for days. What is the point of a vet if they are only equipped for regular appts? I was told 20 min after they opened all their 'emergency' appts were taken. Yes, because you have to call precisely at 8:00 and try to get through. If this was the first time I guess I wouldn't be here writing this but it's not. Every single time they have not been able to see us. Today I called about bringing my cat in who has not eaten in 2 days. I was told they don't have any appts until "let's see...we are into next week..." what? So I comment on how I don't think it's wise to wait until NEXT WEEK for a cat who isn't eating and she agrees. Why look for 'next appt' when I know she needs to be seen sooner? Another day to wait? ok, that would suffice but she was days out. Ridiculous. So if you have routine care here this place is great, but if you want or need to get in that day or the next just know you'll be referred out to the urgent care facility or ER. Kind of defeats the purpose of having a vet. Cannot rely on them when I need them to be there. And I'm not so short sighted to not understand they can't always get us in, but literally it is every single time! I've had enough. I'm sorry to leave this place, but will be looking for a new vet. I'm sure they could care less as well because seriously, trying to find me an appt a week away then agreeing that the cat needs to be seen sooner is just kind of odd. I do agree they are great, but I need a vet I can actually get into on short notice some of the time. read more

This vet is fantastic. From the new, modern feel of the offices to the friendly staff, I can't recommend them enough. They are straight up with their pricing on procedures and are very open with what they think you do and do not need for your pet. The best thing is that I don't feel like they're selling me something, unlike our previous vet. read more

was planning on taking my dog care elsewhere and was confirmed by a recent visit there for a monthly shot and nail care . weights are never taken seriously and blown off , all staff looked overworked and rude misdiagnosis received from one of vets that required my dog to be hospitalized at a wonderful clinic elsewhere , techs walk away and don't answer questions and treat customers with decency , and the owner blows off complains without addressing them . there are many in the area that i can put my money to use and get my dogs the care they deserve . years back i skipped this place due to a similar incident and didn't come back guess my thoughts are confirmed now . will be taking my dogs to a better place down the road oh and also do check nail care if they said they trimmed it they don't on this last visit and charged me for it without a resolution . owner is all about the money .. response to comment below : not true a visit was made a day prior to see the doc . he had cluster seizures that night after a misdiagnosis at your clinic . that's when i took him in to VSC to receive further tx after another ER requested a hospital stay . in fact your doc could've recommended bloodwork and why didn't he do so ? that could've avoided the trip to VSC . i'm sorry but we all get busy and there is no excuse for neglectful behavior and that is a simple weight check . i get your video surveillance however this front paws were not clipped . you have not rectified the situation and am relying on your office staff to tell the story . just know that the more is always 2 sides of the story and poor customer service is a compliant unresolved . i decline to return back . i will find care somewhere else and as you can see my dogs get the best care also in re to going to mutilple clinics - you never have an opening to fit in appointments in the evenings . when there are medical issues waiting and your dog isn't feeling well and your primary clinic refuses to fit it in one has no choice but to go elsewhere and by the way that's also poor customer service for a long time client . do dedicate in improving your care further . it's needed . read more

I'm writing this review on behalf of my grandparents. My grandma just transferred all her animals from Animal Hospital of Gurnee, to here, after 15 years. In 1 month, Dr Joe, has found and fixed problems that the other hospital neglected to find. Her dog has had a peeing problem for over 10 years and the other hospital couldn't figure out what was wrong with him. They did blood work but never a X-ray. Years have gone by and he's gotten worse. My poor grandparents were on the floor endlessly scrubbing his accidents, FOR YEARS! Until one day, my grandma got pissed off enough and decided to look for someone closer. That's when she found Dr joe ! In 1 month, they've figured out his problem and already having a plan on treatment. This poor dog has lived w Kidney stones for 10 years without being diagnosed by the other hospital. My grandma is heart broken over never getting a 2nd opinion and just trusting the 1st vet, his whole entire doggie life. My grandparents are retired and live on a fixed income, in SaddleBrooke Farms. This animal hospital, gives seniors, from SaddleBrooke a discount on their bill!!!!!!! LIKE, WHO DOES THAT ANYMORE ?! I know a handful in the area that doesn't, including the old animal hospital she went to for so many years. We have asked for discounts for years over there. Being on a fixed income and my grandma having a big heart w rescuing animals, needed a break sometimes. But, they never gave it to her. My grandparents couldn't be any happier, right now. read more

My family has brought our dogs to Village Veterinary Clinic for the past 15 years, so it was a no brainier that even though I live in Chicago, I would also bring my dog Kedzie, to Village Vet. The staff there is wonderful and they know who you and your dog are! Dr. Marks is our primary vet, and Kedzie (and I) love her! She always has such a warm and happy greeting for us. I've had Kedzie since she was a puppy so we were visiting often for vaccines and each time Kedzie was more and more comfortable, and it is because of how well Dr. Marks and the staff treat her. I also was a nervous new puppy mom who called frequently when I first got her and was worried about something, and they never made it seem like a burden or annoyance, and always responded with thoughtful care from both the staff and Dr. Marks. This also was the case when I would bring her in for visits with my list of questions. She would take the time to answer them and give me any other information I needed. In addition to this, they have a wonderful system of sending you postcard reminders for when you need to bring your pup in for a vaccine, which when life gets busy is amazing. They also were really wonderful in working with the other vet that I had to take Kedzie to via her adoption organization. It was complicated at times to keep track of the different vaccines, but they were able to navigate it with out skipping a beat. I feel so lucky that I have such a wonderful veterinary clinic for my dog. It is hard to know who to trust your pet with, but I would highly recommend Village Veterinary Clinic for anyone who wants their pet to be treated like family. read more

My entire family LOVES Village Vet! Our fur babies get outstanding care. Every member of the Clinic: doctors, techs, and receptionists, are so highly skilled, patient, caring, and sweet. Two of my fur babies are senior dachshund mixes. Yesterday, they had their annual dental cleaning. Dr. Joe Armagno was wonderful in explaining all the details of our fur babies cleaning. He showed us the details of Charlie's extractions, and follow up care. Thank you Dr. Armagno for being an outstanding doctor, who listens, communicates with us, and gives our fur babies the best care. Everyone at Village Vet are outstanding, empathic, and so kind. The best clinic ever!!!! I took my dog to his first check up he was scared and nervous and the nurse and the doctor handle it soo well!! With the Covid I couldn't go there and be by my dog side. He was scared when they were taking him inside, the nice nurse ask me I can take my dog to the door. After 30 min pass the doctor came out with my dog all happy And told me my dog is healthy and how she was being gentle and calm with my dog so he can be comfortable when he was he let her do the exam. The Village Veterinary staff are the kindest most compassionate group of people. My dog was 14+ years old. I had just moved to the area and called them when my she wasn't doing well. They got me in the same day! They took her in and took good care to let me know that her time with us was coming to an end. I took her home but decided it was time to let her be at peace. I called back and they were so helpful telling me what would happen. The Vet was amazing with her and her end was so peaceful. They let me stay with her as long as I wanted. A short time after her passing I received a card signed by all the staff. What a very special jester this was as I had only been to their office twice. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great Veterinary clinic. read more

Amazing vet! They took the time to understand each pet and their unique needs (we have 2 dogs and 2 cats, all very different). I was hesitant to trust another vet after a bad experience with one in spring grove that left our pug immune compromised. Village vet goes above and beyond to take care of our not so little guy, they even went so far as to call and check up on our other dog after we had to take him to an ER vet one night. We had bad experiences with veterinarians nearby. We found Village clinic and though it is 40 mins from home, my husband and I are thrilled with the staff, doctors and homey atmosphere. They were prompt, professional and most of all caring. Please check them out if you are not satisfied with your neighborhood veterinarian. My cat was treated like the 'princess' she is. I started taking one of my cats here who was having dental issues. Hector (my cat) had his teeth cleaned by another vet previously but the vet did not take X-rays and told me they could not pull any damaged teeth because it would hurt his jaw bone. I've been trying to manage Hector's stinky breath for over a year. His breath smelled like garbage at times. I decided to change Hector's care to this clinic after getting frustrated at the lack of improvement from the other vet. The staff at this clinic are very friendly and take time to make sure your pet is at ease with them, even if that means it takes longer for the appointment. I dropped Hector off last Friday for his dental and asked them to call me if they saw any extractions that were needed before performing them. The tech who took care of Hector called me to let me know he needed two teeth removed and that he was doing well under the anesthesia. They removed the teeth and called me back to let me know he was in recovery. When I picked him up, the tech gave me all the instructions and took about 15 minutes to review everything with me. She even gave me pictures of his X-rays to see where the damaged teeth had been decaying under the surface of his gums. The staff all said how much they loved Hector and what a good patient he was. The tech called me on Saturday to follow up to make sure he was recovering well from the extractions. I appreciated the extra follow up. It's now been a few days and I am completely amazed that Hector's breath finally isn't stinky! I'm really hoping he may not need a dental next year. This clinic is more expensive then the original one I was using but the care is far superior. I would pay any price to make sure my cats are happy and healthy. I plan on switching my other cat over to this clinic as well. read more

I'm giving two stars because I didn't actually get to experience the veterinary care. I have heard ok things about them, but can't seem to get past a "we will call you back" from the receptionist to experience it myself. I called to find out what their prices were for puppy vaccines and an exam so I could schedule an appointment and budget the fees into my bill planning. Everywhere else I called gave me the prices with no issues. The receptionist here said they would have to call me back with an estimate. They never called back. I used to work in a clinic, so I know things can get hectic and sometimes call backs get forgotten. So, I called again. Not only did I get told they will call me back AGAIN, they failed to call back the second time. So, I called over to The Animal Hospital of Gurnee instead. Not only were they decently priced, but their staff was nice, the Doctor I saw was amazing and they had no issues talking to me on the phone. I was in their office just a few days after calling. read more
