Orange Octopus has been hiding from me for a long time. I can't even believe it. The sign caught my eye this time by Captain Curt's Oyster and Tiki Bar. We always go to Turtle Beach not Siesta Key. It's Quieter and the walk is way shorter and it finally caught my attention. This ice cream is local and home made and amazing. I promise I don't say that for all ice cream. I had the key lime pie with coconut and coconut topping. So perfect!! My husband had the sea salt caramel and strawberry cheesecake. They were exactly as they say they were. Speaking as someone who has tried nearly every ice cream store in Siesta Key... Orange Octopus is a strong contender for #1. I prefer a softer, creamier texture when it comes to ice cream and this place got it perfect. The chocolate peanut is amazing and I will be returning solely for this flavor. The dutch chocolate flavor is great for a dark chocolate lover. It is not a super sweet flavor which makes it a nice compliment to balance out another flavor. However, I did feel that the portion size and price were a little off - portions are a bit on the small side. They have other offerings such as smoothies, coffee, shakes, etc. I also noticed that you could buy t-shirts with the logo and old fashioned candy. Man this place deserves every star I can give it. It was a little hard to find. It's located in a strip mall next to Siesta Key bike & kayak. Parking is limited right in front of the businesses in strip. I was greeted soon as I came in and the young man asked I if I'd like to try any flavors. I tried 4 and they were all so delicious. The server helped me decide on Kentucky Honey Bourbon and Sea Salt Caramel. Man oh man I really enjoyed my waffle cone. The Ice cream was so creamy and had the best consistency. The waffle cone was fresh as well. The shop has seating inside and a couple benches ouut front so you can sit and enjoy your ice cream. Yummy little ice cream shop on Siesta Key. All the flavors looked great. The flavors change constantly. I order the toasted coconut. There were lots of shredded coconut in it. My friend had the pistachio and it was one of the best I've ever tasted. My boyfriend always gets Butter Pecan and he enjoyed it. This is a great little ice cream store right off the main strip. All the ice cream is made up onsite. The staff was super friendly and their positive energy was through the roof. They made it a great experience with my young daughters, I had a waffle cone with Ooey gooey brownie and sea salt caramel. It was killer. The brownie had real large chucks of fudge like brownie in it. I'd go back just for that! They had dairy free options as my oldest had a mango smoothie.
