My beautiful son at the table.
    Lisa B.

FOOD: we had pepperoni pizza and short ribs. The pizza crust was very good. The toppings were decent. I mistakenly ordered the wrong short ribs. They were a little bit fatty. The marinade was good. It came with rice and some cabbage slaw. We had a couple of draft beers. Three space dust and one sculpin. I was also able to take cookies home. Three giant, fresh cookies. One oatmeal, one chocolate chip, one macadamia white chocolate chip. I didn't taste them, but they were reported to be delicious. SERVICE: the service was spectacular. Our server, Jennifer was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The bill for what we had was decent and Jennifer gave us the players club discount. That was sweet and helped with the bill quite a bit. AMBIENCE: this place is off the beaten path and was so busy when I got there at midnight. That's the beauty of the restaurant being open 24 hours a day seven days a week. All of the poker tables were full and you had to put your name on a list to get a seat at one of the tables when a player left. We just ate, we didn't gamble. Parking was ample, but like I said, the place was packed, so there were only a few spaces when I got there. No smoking inside.

Gr8 place for some quick black jack. I recommend arriving early since table openings are scarce. Beware of dealers trying to make the bets for you or making lame assumptions.

came to attend a social event in this seven mile casino, very good food and drinks, also very close to beach, good views too

    Menu

Limited games go to play, wish they had 3 card poker and more double deck blackjack for $15 or $10. Not really tried the food there. But here are some pics of the menu prices as of june 30 2025

This casino and restaurant is located just off Highway 5, exit E Street near the bay front in Chula Vista. Have been here twice now, once with munchkin and once without. Have been met each time with friendly, hospitable and quick service... Not to mention GREAT food and drinks! There are no slots but several table for getting your gaming on, as you venture towards the back of the casino you are met with a vibrant bar and restaurant area. They offer outside seating, and the ambience was different around the holiday season - but delightful. The first time we came for an early dinner and was pleasantly surprised with a pasta/pizza that was ordered. This time we came for breakfast (although it was after 12pm) and so happy to hear they still served breakfast. Ordered a few items... chilaquiles, duck tacos and a sammy. The duck tacos were bite size, cute and flavorful and placed on the plate with sour cream holding them down. The chilaquiles was delicious as the beef was simply mouth watering, the salsa verde was flavorful with a kick (menu mentions spicy) but all-in-all delicious. The Sammy sandwich was a bit dry for my liking, which is probably why I like a monte cristo sandwich better. In any event my SO ate it just fine. The truffle potatoes were interesting, delicious and flavorful little pops of potatoes. We will definitely be back to try other menu items as this place has an extensive menu. The drinks were delicious and strong, as well as reasonably priced at $12 each. They do offer a discount for members who come to play at their casino and eat... that discount is 35% off. We will definitely come to play and eat next time!

This was my first time eating at the restaurant in this casino, and 90% of everything was terrible. The only thing that was good, was the alcoholic drinks. The bartender was great, no complaints there. We ordered 2 pizzas, the Sicilian and the Thai chicken, and both were disgusting! We each barely ate 2 slice and couldn't take anymore. They didn't have any Pepsi, so we ordered oJ, and it tasted rotten. It's been a long time since I've been anywhere, and everything tasted terrible. The food was the same quality as a school cafeteria, it was highly disappointing.

I had packed to stay but was one of those who wanted to just go home but because my husband was away in Hemet with our dog I decided that I'd take my friends suggestion and stay. Originally there would have been more than just me staying so we had opted for a room with two beds. I ended up sleeping on the bed closest to the AC. The room had complimentary waters but I had brought a pack and snacks for our "after pool party." just in case we needed more. The room itself is super spacious even with all of us in it meaning 8 people there was still so much room. The blackout blinds were truly black outty and the bathroom was really large and perfect for just me. The shower had good water pressure and made me feel nice and relaxed after hours in the sun. I brought my own blanket but didn't really need it the pillows were comfy even though I hoarded them from both beds, would definitely stay in room again. I felt safe on my own and just had the best time sleeping in AC.

I needed to valet just to be able to help my brother get inside safely, but they didn't care. It is ridiculous to expect me to leave him alone at the curb while I go hunt for a spot, especially when the handicap spaces in the structure are a massive trek from the door. We felt like a total burden to the staff and were not made to feel welcome at all. Terrible first impression, Definitely won't be back.

Dear Barona Casino Management, I never imagined I would be…read morewriting a letter like this. For many years, I have been a loyal VIP member and have spent countless hours and dollars at Barona. I wasn't just another customer--I truly believed I was valued. The way Barona presents itself made me feel like I had found a place that cared about its guests--a place that felt like home. Over the past several months, my life has changed because I have been battling a serious illness . My illness and treatments have kept me from visiting and earning the tier points I once maintained. It wasn't because I chose to stop coming--it was because I simply couldn't. I understand that because I haven't been able to maintain my tier points, my offers have changed. I wasn't calling to argue about my benefits or ask for something I was entitled to. I simply called to ask if a one-time exception could be made. I explained that I was about to have surgery and just wanted one night away beforehand. I hoped I could have a Friday night room to relax, clear my mind, and have one peaceful evening before facing another difficult chapter in my journey. Instead, I was told no. That conversation broke my heart. What hurt wasn't just being denied a room. It was realizing that years of loyalty seemed to mean very little when I needed a small act of kindness. It made me feel that everything I had invested over the years only mattered as long as I was spending money and earning points. To me, that one night would have meant so much. It would have been a chance to escape the stress, fear, and uncertainty that come with being ill and surgery, even if only for a few hours. To Barona, it was just one room for one night. To me, it would have been a gift of compassion that I would never have forgotten. Instead, this experience left me feeling that, despite Barona's message of making guests feel at home, it's really all about the money. The moment my illness prevented me from maintaining my status, the compassion I believed existed seemed to disappear. I understand that businesses have policies, but there are moments when kindness should matter more than policy. A one-time exception for a loyal guest facing a serious surgery wouldn't have been about giving away a room. It would have been about showing humanity. I'm not writing this letter because I expect anything anymore. I'm writing because I wanted you to know how deeply this experience affected me. I have supported Barona for many years, and I truly believed that loyalty meant something. Sadly, this experience has changed the way I see a place that once felt like home. I hope that in the future, Barona remembers that behind every rewards account is a real person. Sometimes people aren't absent because they've lost interest--they're absent because they're fighting for their lives. Those are the moments when compassion speaks louder than any policy ever could.

---Very rude and disrespectful unprofessional employees.--/…read moreOn April 12, around 8 pm, I was in the casino area. A woman won a huge jackpot and went to the restroom. I was sitting two seats away from her, and two casino attendants were standing nearby, waiting for her to return. Out of curiosity, I approached the attendants to see what was happening and asked, "How much did she win?" smiling. The Latina girl turned around with a dirty look, , and the other, with long black hair tied up, responded with a stern face, "We don't disclose the amount," rudely and disrespectfully. Does she know how to say politely, kindly, "Sorry, ma'am, we don't disclose the amount"? Politely with respect? I am a regular customer who has been coming here for years and spends a lot of money. Her rude attitude is not acceptable in this kind of business. This isn't about policy; it's about mannerisms toward customers, which are unprofessional and unacceptable! This is a place where people come to enjoy and be entertained. Her nasty attitude needs to be corrected and trained. I reported this issue to their manager, who seems to be a distinguished African gentleman with glasses, and I hope he takes this matter seriously, reports it to management, and corrects this kind of disrespect and rudeness in this casino.

Cute, remodeled motel for the hipster in you!…read more I stayed here a few nights while exploring Chula Vista and had a good stay. The rooms have been updated but previously you can tell this is just like any on the side of the road motel. They added nice touches which brought their ratings up. I did come right after an atmospheric river storm and did notice a few of the rooms had water leakage and looked like maintenance was really trying to fix those rooms. I saw 3 of these rooms like this. Bed was comfortable enough, air con are the old school ones where you have to turn them on and they do make quite a bit of noise. TV was fine, the room had a nice table to eat or for work. Bathroom had a tub so that was nice, I prefer tubs. My only gripe was that there was no mini fridge or microwave and those are really useful to have when on a road trip. They do have ice machines, so that helped to keep things cold in my small cooler. There is a cute coffee bar up front and I did stop in one more morning to have a Mazapan latte but it was just so-so. Milk was barely warm and I would have liked my Mazapan be crushed a bit more. I did get a 30% off my drink, which was nice. However, they are doing away with this in 2026. Overall, a good stay, I would stay here again but maybe only for 1 night vs 3. I mainly stayed here so I could visit the nearby wildlife refuge. They are also right next door to a casino that I didn't visit. Ample parking here. Wifi worked fine. Staff were OK.
