Recently stayed 2 nights at the Jamul Resort. We had a standard 2 queen bedroom with a mountain view. This is not a luxury hotel, I don't care what anyone says, but it is a nice hotel. The rooms are modern in design and the entire resort is very clean and well-maintained. The water pressure in the shower was amazing! And the lighting controls in the room are cool to set the right mood. There is a coffee maker and one of those mini bar fridges that charger you if you take anything out. It was full of drinks, but I could only imagine the price. The Jamul 23 buffet is located in the lobby of the hotel and there is a rooftop pool and bar. The pool area is very small and can get very crowded, especially if there is any kind of special event. You will want to get there early if you want a lounge chair, because there are not to many of those as well. And also know there is not much in the form of shade. Overall, if you are look for a quick San Diego getaway and you don't want to drive too far, this is a great option. And I imagine most people are coming for the casino, which is a decent size casino! read more

I haven't been to this casino in a long time, and honestly, it's shocking how much it's gone downhill. The entire place feels rundown now and gives off a very sleazy casino vibe the moment you walk in. I went to grab a complimentary soda, and the machine was completely turned off. I thought maybe it was just broken, so I tried getting coffee instead, but all that came out was boiling hot water. For a casino that brings in the amount of money this place does, it's unbelievable they can't even keep basic complimentary drink stations working anymore. The bathrooms looked worn out and neglected too, which only added to the overall feeling that the place just isn't being maintained like it used to be also played on four machines and the machine machines were filthy of cigarette ash and sticky residue. The atmosphere feels cheap, outdated, and honestly depressing compared to other casinos in San Diego. I would not recommend coming here at all. In my opinion, this has become the worst casino in San Diego. What used to feel exciting now just feels like a dump. read more

New Cashier Breana helped my Dad set up his account, she was knowledgeable and provided great customer service, promoting and explaining the new member scratcher. The service was amplified by Rosemarie, Jeremy and Teresa jumping into the conversation and making this a memorable experience. My Dad had a great time. read more

We attended a Black History Month event here on 2/28/26. It is their Annual Black History Month celebration. There is a full Soul Food dinner included in the ticket. The Rooftop is the lounge venue that this event happens in every year. It is well setup with tables, dance floor, stage, and a full bar area. They have 2 guest Unisex restrooms where you can see the view of the sports field venue below. We were seated at Table #17 and it was in a perfect spot near the center of the room. The Soul Food for buffet served dinner: Delicious and tender Braised Short Rib, Collard Greens, Green Caesar Salad, Potato Salad, Yellow Rice Pilaf, Fried Crispy Chicken Wings, and Macaroni & Cheese. They had Banana Pudding individually portioned desserts and they had Pecan and Caramel flavors. We enjoyed the servers bringing us free water, free canned sodas, and you could also order whatever you'd like from the bar for a cost. I appreciated that the Jamul President & Chairman Mary Cheeks greeted all guests with a wonderful and warm welcome statement. She asked for a moment of silence for The Rev. Jesse Jackson, and it was beautiful. Jamul Casino had TV screens throughout the property and casino paying tribute to Black History Month. The screens included notable Black people, their summary contributions/achievements, and authentic photos of each honoree. These TVs were everywhere; excellent job! There was a band that performed was great. They sere high energy and they performed R&B, Soul, & Popular songs from the 1950s to the 2010s. We danced while we were there and the dance floor was packed! The food was good, my favorite was the Braised Short Rib, it was DELICIOUS! We appreciated Jenny who coordinated our seating and communicated with us on the event. She answered any questions that we had prior to attending. She is a wonderful hostess. read more

This is a big casino, it's beautiful. The parking structure is really big and a bit confusing to me. But we finally made it to the elevators that took us to the casino main floor. They had a live band playing. It was quite loud in there and very very busy this night. They have complimentary drinks. The food court was busy, took awhile to get our food. I heard it was busier than usual this particular night so I'll be back another day. read more

If I could put zeros stars I would. Do not come here they let minors in then act confused like they didn't let them walk through the check-in. Let them sit down at the buffet pay for meal 15 min before closing . An sit down for 10 minutes. Threatening to call the sheriff when they were asked to leave without receiving a refund for the meal that they didn't eat. An then have security gather around you like their employees didn't give them the OK to walk through the metal detector. Also make a huge scene on how they won't show the ID when you have to show the ID to even enter the premises. Which they failed to do their job. They need better training and employees. Also, how to control their emotions and can keep their composure . Both male and female security were both very hostile and unprofessional. Didn't t try to defuse the situation at all. unsanitary. We came for an afternoon of food and roulette and it pains me to say that we realized we prefer other casinos. We ate at one of restaurants and it was a great deal under $40 for 2 of us. However, the roulette table was a letdown. Only 1 was available and not only did it have $15 minimums, they had $5 chips only. Never have I been to a roulette table where all seats were filled and people didn't bet because everyone kept losing. We're used to slow playing and enjoying but we quickly left after the vibes were off. The free valet was nice but the pickup is on level 6. They asked us if we wanted water in our car which was appreciated. Overall, I like the roulette tables more at Sycuan and Viejas even though the parking situation isn't as convenient. read more

Obviously not Vegas but a fun a casino. The place is modern, clean and not too smokey. They have table games and slots. While booze is not included, they have self serve drinks and waitresses who come around for drink orders. Parking is free. I had luck at the tables and slots. I ended up giving my slot wins back but it was still fun. This is a fun option outside of San Diego and worth the 20-30 min drive. read more

Had several seniors, going to buffet. No signage to let us know where to park. No handicap available. Circled several times. Had to use valet. At Buffett charged18% gratuity due to size of group. Usually don't mind, it's understandable! But the service today was practically non existent. No drink refills, had to get other employees to assist us with coffee and getting the bill to us. Kept watching our server address other tables numerous times. Kind of got the feeling that because our tip was set, we didn't need any attention. He was working the other tables to get the tips. It made me wish that the 18%, large group rule could be challenged and adjusted to service received ( with manager approval of course). This was reported to the concierge and the manager on duty at the buffet. They said they would address the server. read more

I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning experience my family and I had while attempting to visit your casino and restaurants, Saturday 14 March 2026, at approximately 8:00 PM. Upon arrival at the valet area, we were informed by the valet attendant that our van was too large to be accommodated. However, directly in the area where we initially pulled up, there was another van of similar size already parked in an open space. When we respectfully asked the attendant why that vehicle was permitted to park there and whether we could utilize the same area, the attendant responded with dismissive gestures and an unhelpful demeanor. We also informed the attendant that we are handicapped and asked whether accessible vans were accommodated. We were told that we would need to park on the street outside of the casino. When we asked if that would require a walk, the attendant confirmed that it would. From the moment we arrived, the interaction felt unnecessarily discourteous and dismissive. More importantly, being directed to park on the street despite identifying as individuals with disabilities raised concerns regarding accessibility accommodations. As you are likely aware, businesses open to the public are expected to provide reasonable accessibility accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Given the size and prominence of Jamul Casino, we were surprised and disappointed by this experience. We had intended to patronize your casino and restaurants that evening, but due to the circumstances described above, we ultimately chose to leave. I hope you will review this matter, including the conduct of the valet attendant and your procedures for accommodating accessible vehicles, to ensure that patrons with disabilities are treated respectfully and provided appropriate access in the future. I miss casino buffets. When I heard this casino does have a buffet (at J23), I went on a Tuesday (3/3/26) around 10:30 AM; seated at a table for four, I had an excellent view of the employee parking lot, distant traffic and a tractor driving around on a field. The service was excellent; the concierge was very polite (so I tipped $5), my server was very attentive, friendly, accommodating and polite; the food, however is a different story. Putting it kindly? It is disappointing. This review is specifically for the following items: - butter & 1 biscuit. The biscuit was dry -- make sure you have a beverage close by. The butter is very bland. It's a decent scoop of very pale, what must be unsalted butter. But it was wrapped cutely in a basket with 2 packages of jam (strawberry & grape). - Steak & eggs. The cubed, bite sized steak is tough and chewy, the scrambled eggs were dry, and they were barely lukewarm. - waffles. The 2 waffles I had were cold, despite being kept in a covered chafing dish and doled out by an employee. Butter wouldn't melt on it; the waffle itself was so dry and unappetizing, no matter how much bourbon maple syrup I poured on it. - chile relleno. The batter is thick and greasy; the cheese inside not melted. And it is cold. - Meat lover's fajitas. Not flavorful, and the medley of beef, chicken & shrimp were also cold, dry and chewy. I picked out as many shrimp as I could, only to find more of the same - cold dry and chewy. - the sliced fresh fruit display, is visually appealing, but once tucked into, is not refreshed/replenished,. In summary, save for the green salad and dressings, the food was drier than the Sahara desert at noon in the summer. The webpage is a bit misleading; though it doesn't specify/inform you the buffet is strictly breakfast from 8 AM till 10:45-ish. J23's 0800-1400 buffet has separate hours for lunch and breakfast. They stop cooking and begin putting away the breakfast foods around 10:15-10:30-ish, close the dining area by sections, and then reset/reopen for lunch from 11-ish to 2:00pm, so plan accordingly. I would rather spend the extra money and go to Tom Ham's lighthouse I paid $32 for a very disappointing and unappetizing breakfast buffet, tipping the concierge $5, and my server $6; it's not their fault the food is subpar. Got a complimentary room at the hotel. The hotel has its own parking garage. Very short walk to front door and have to take elevator up to lobby. The lobby is beautiful and has a bar. We were invited to dinner at the Buffet next to the hotel lobby. We were a party of 4. It was our first time there and the food was just amazing! Lobster, snow crabs, shrimp, prime rib and New York steak to name a few. My favorite was the tempura lobster tails! Seasoned to perfection that I ate 8 of them! I can't wait to go back! I've been coming to the casino for a number of years, and drive from the LA area, which is approximately 120 miles away. Last year, I moved up to become a pearl card holder. I was really happy to move up and look forward to the perks that came with being a pearl card holder Especially when I hear other players discussed the benefits they get from their host. When I ask, who their host was, It turned out we shared the same host. The difference is, I never hear from my host. When I mentioned it to him, he told me one time he had a lot of people that had be accounted for, and my response was don't I get cycled in once in a while. I believe he's contacted me once in the year that I've been one of his client. I honestly feel that there's certain people that get contacted and others that don't and I just happened to be one that don't. Now when players discuss him, I joke by calling him (G)host. There are still too many people smoking in there. One day, a Korean lady was smoking right next to me. I simply waved the smoke away from my face and didn't say anything to her. Then her husband told me that if I couldn't handle the smoke, I should leave because it's a smoking casino. After that, he called the manager. The manager didn't even ask me what happened. She just told me that I couldn't tell people not to smoke next to me and that if I had a problem, she could call security on me. I even explained to the manager that I never said anything to them -- I only waved the smoke away from my face. That's how they treat an Onyx member. They simply don't care. Since my last review, they told me to send them a DM, but they never responded. They only replied publicly to make it look like they responded, but when I actually sent them a DM, they never replied. read more
