On the 8th of June 2026, I suffered a major heart attack. The doctors and nurses gave me cpr, and installed a stent, saving my life. The ICU nurses and staff were wonderful, and very caring. I have had to file numerous complaints regarding not only the level of care that my husband received, but also the billing issues. My husband came in for stomach pain, severe vomiting, and dehydration. The nurse tried to insert an IV three times but failed due to dehydration. We were billed for an IV, pain meds, fluids, etc. The standard IV attempts for one person is no more than two. After that, they should find either a phlebotomist, or use a ultrasound machine in order locate the vein for placement. Neither was done. He was sat out in the hallway next to another gentleman who was suffering from a kidney stone blockage. Literally, sitting in the hallway. No privacy. Complete HIPPA violation. They took him back for a CT Scan, however, since they were not able to place the IV, they were unable to perform a CT Scan with contrast. Had then been able to do a CT Scan with contrast, it would have shown a MASS on this PANCREAS. That MASS was CANCER. Not only cancer, but after rushing him to MAYO in Jacksonville, we found that he had one of the worst cases of diverticulitis that they had ever seen. And that if he would have waited another two weeks, he would have been DEAD! I have nothing for this place. Like the other lady said, I would not bring my dead dog here. I have also reported him to multiple state and federal agencies for investigation. They released him with no antibiotics. Just an anti cramping medication for the stomach pain. He was diagnosed a month later with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. Fortunately, another Dr believed it was stage three and was able to do the whipple sugery through Moffit. He is doing great today. But no help from 7 Rivers/TGH. I have reached out on numerous occasions to Rafael Pabon who is either not reading his emails or does not feel it's necessary to respond any longer. I have asked repeatedly for all of the documentation. Credentials of the people who attempted, the MAR, their hospital policy regarding unsuccessful IV attempts. He refuses to respond. I just wanted the billing to be corrected. It has now been over two years, and just past the point of statute of limitations. So here I am. I am thankful that they didn't give him antibiotics, because if they had, this probably wouldn't be the same outcome. Would we have gone to Mayo? read more

This facility is amazing; I was brought in via Ambulance for multiple seizures. I was on the third floor and every single individual were so kind and very professional. The second time I was brought was for yet another seizure, this time on the second floor. Today I was brought in for another seizure and a sprained ankle due to the third seizure. It turns out my ankle was broken and once again super impressive individuals. My radiologist and assistant amazing. Not only that but my wait not long and I got to come home. I am unemployed yet was treated like royalty. I was also given all the resources I need to apply for necessary assistance. Now Tampa Bay. Husband there for four days, for the first two days, he spent 1 1/2 days in the emergency room waiting for a hospital room. Once in his room saw no one for the first five hours. Asked questions no one knew the medical plan, didn't see a doctor till the 3rd day, got little information. Day 4 doctor said he was going to be discharged, no forewarning. I asked that he please not be discharged until the next day, they agreed and then at 7:30 PM I received a call from the admitting rehabilitation hospital that he was on his way there. My husband has dementia and what a horrible, non- companionable thing to do to a poor man who has dementia, not to have his wife with him. I am disgusted with the care that the hospital gave my husband. I would never take my dog there for medical assistance. Shame on you Tampa Bay, I thought you were better than that. If I could give this place a -1 review I would. I went in there for abdominal pain, headache, nausea and bleeding out of my backside. Well 1st I never got to see the doctor, I sat in the waiting room for FOUR hours, I wasn't taken to the back not once. Then when I got discharged they didn't even know why I was there. I had to explain to them what was going on even while being discharged. I didn't get any diagnosis, it was a FAT waste of time! And I'm still having issues! I had a bad experience on the 24th ofAugust while in the hospital. i'm at the back surgery done, back to fusion. The day after the surgery, they released me. One day later in the emergency room at Brevera forest ridge with extreme pain in my stomach. my son took me. I was in so much pain I couldn't stand up. I was dry heaving and screaming for help. I ended lying on the cold floor curled up like a fetus. I laid on the waiting room floor for a hour and a half. walk in patients brought their jacket to put under my had. the medical team ignored me for a long time. after them not or couldn't listen to me screaming for help, to finally put me in a room and shut the door. After which the took a cat scan and realized I needed to be transported to seven rivers. I ended up having a bowel obstruction which was dangerous. I waited five hours Before they transported me To the hospital. they did several necc procedures in the 4 days I was there. I felt very neglected by the nursing care. It took me 3 days Before I could get a tooth brus, I didn't get washed at all. When I ring the bell for a nurs they would say someone will be coming. They never came. I needed clean underwear I couldn't get it! After ringing the bell so many times they finally would come to give me one. I was given a enema after they told the nurses that this lady will have to go to the bathroom a lot tonight. When that came, I couldn't get the nurse to help me. Because I had a IV in my arms. They would have to help me getting on the commode that was next to my bed. Finally they came so I could go. I asked them to please empty my commode after the nurse replied, "can't you hold it". I was so upset, I couldn't speak. They grossly neglected me. The amount of money they charged my Medicare is outrageous after such a neglec. My surgeon did a great job working on me. I do not recommend anybody using seven Rivers hospital. There are many nurses that shouldn't be there. I want to sue them so bad for the unnecessary pain and discomfort the way they left me Sufferin. read more

Tampa General Hospital took this hospital over, so it's no long Seven Rivers. I came in with serious colitis, and had not eaten of consumed food for over 36 hours. Well, from the time I entered to the time I was released 4 days later the people here treated me very well, they went out of their way to make certain I was cared for, that I had my medications on time, and that I just was as comfortable as possible in a situation like this. A few people stood out, as they really went above and beyond to see to my needs, one was Lisa, one was Joshua both day shift, and one was Micah on night shift. To give an example, on my first night, I was unable to sleep due to not having my wife next to me, and Micah checked on me more times than I can count, just to make sure that I was alright. I do not know where else one can find that kind of care in a hospital. I cannot speak highly enough about the people who saw to my needs while I was in this hospital. I am 66 years old, and I have been in hospitals before, but never ever treated this well. The care was top-notch, the check-in experience was very quick, then on to triage where they immediately performed many necessary tests, then on to cat scan where they found out how sick I really was. Then when a room became available, I was given a wonderful room with wonderful people to look after me. I was told by the doctor to walk, when I did I met the rest of the staff on my floor, all very nice and very very friendly. The whole experience was just awesome. read more

Some of the staff at this hospital have serious attitude problems related to politics. They're very careful not to say anything, but patients have to put up with grimaces, loud sighs, dirty looks, and downright dismissal if they sense that your politics are different. Went to the ER. I slipped and fell. Having extreme back pain. Stays revealed three cracked ribs. Was given pain meds and care instructions. Entire staff was professional, skilled and pleasant. Highly recommend. read more

Took my wife in with abdominal pain. She has diverticulitis and we thought it was flared up. None of these people did what they told us they where going to do. They cut my wife 13 inches to remove the clips where her tubes where tied. Misdiagnosed on the ct. the surgeon never gave me his card, name, or contact info. He told me there was air in her abdomen, and their wasn't. He told me he didn't find anything but the clips. I was told we wouldn't get a follow up appointment to have the staples in her stomac removed without a large CASH payment to the surgeons office. No prescriptions to take home after a week in the hospital. No calls nothing but please pay us and make sure it's all cash. I found this really odd that in 2023 they have no ability to take my Hsa card. Called my insurance and none of their claims where processing yet. They didn't know what I owed them in CASH. So I reported them to the insurance fraud division. Surgeon too. I'm not paying this place thousands of dollars out of my pocket for nothing but making my wife's health way worse. Examples of every form of malpractice from misdiagnosis to neglect. Now I have to take her to a real hospital and have them fix all the mistakes made here. They literally are trying to hold my wife's life and health hostage for cash payments! Most expensive butcher shop you will ever go to. read more

Total no communication. Incompetence. Had my spouses medication list and never gave him any of the medications for 4 days. Their answer to all complaints or questions was "we have procedures" Turned a 3 day stay into five for no good reason. My advice avoid this hospital. I just spent 3 horrible days at this hos[ital. Food was so bad ; could not eat it. Even the nurses said ,they would not eat it, I lost 3 pounds there. I was in the hospital for low sodium level in my body. The automatic bed I had did not work right at all. When I did get released to go home , the next night at home I began to start inching all over my body, what looked like a red rash broke out. ,have to see what it is .I can tell you a lot more, but would take to long . .also my wife died there a year age. Due to there neglect at this hospital. she had C Deaf , a nurse told me when a person has this ,they get her out of the hospital ASAP, because its very contagious, so they sent her to Diamond ridge, to get rid of her. after a week there and stopped all her medications she was taking to keep her ALIVE, I got her out of Diamond Ridge, and got her over to Life Care for better care, I thought...two days later they sent her back to Seven Rivers , a day later she died there.. ...so glad Tampa general took over. I hope they get rid of all the staff that work there especially the doctors, and especially ! the doctors who worked on her for only 2 days in the ICU, before shipping her to Diamond Ridge, ..If you have to go to a hospital, go to Citrus Memorial, in Inverness, I have heard they are much better to help you. they are very good...they care more about there patients. I had an appointment at the lab. That doesn't sound like a big deal until I tell you of fainting at At a lab and br brought by ambulance after fainting at quest diagnostic. I was very scared to have my blood drawn after that but the people here at 7 Rivers we're very kind and I barely felt dizzy after they help me Faith I honestly thought I was about to faint. They really helped me so thank you people so much On the other hand, I really don't understand your patient portal. there doesn't seem to be much on it none of my test results have ever been put on it so that feels useless also not even doctors note have ever been on there. please revamp it somehow if you can. there is a link where you could share your information with your friends but there's nothing to share. read more

ZERO STARS I would never return or recommend this hospital to any one who wants sufficent care. I am sure their re-admittance rate is horrible as they merly and poorly attempt to just bandage very ill patients rather than doing neccessary testing and CARING for a patient to find a solution or rather actually find the ACTUAL ISSUE. My Husband died while in Seven Rivers. I shall always feel guilty about have the ambulance take him there. The nursing staff with the exception on one male nurse were uncaring. John got some medicine in his eye and it was bothering him terribly. I asked for eye wash and was told there was "none" in the entire hospital. I went out and bought some but by that time his poor eye lid was swollen. I also asked to see his records as he had given me written authorization. It was a Sunday and the head nurse refused saying it was against hospital policy. After John died, I called administration about the poor treatment I felt he received. I was given a lot of jingle how it would be looked into but I doubt it was. NO one should have to suffer with something in their eye or be reprimanded by a nurse for thrashing about and dislodging IVs. I am so sorry I took him to Seven Rivers. read more

My son had a car accident it was an ambulance into the hospital in Crystal River I was not allowed to see him or get any information on his condition .they left him laying on a gurney in the hall in his underwear didn't even give him a countNight gown no nurses no doctors to tell me how his progression was given or diagnosis .I went to pick him up the next morning and he was still in his underwear o gown laying on a filthy bloody muddy sheet the conditions at the hospital or a Humiliating and absolutely unprofessional I expect they will see many lawsuits in the future read more

We had only been in a Florida 24 hrs living in hotel til closing on our home ,when my husband was brought to ER about 115 am Sunday morn for kidney stone. Night ER was great and compassionate and professional. He has had several so we knew the drill . Sent home to pass the stone about 4 am but he was awakened at 815 am with severe lower left wdrt pain, location of stone as confirmed by ER dr. He waited til he could no more and we again find ourselves in ER about 115 pm Sunday and after about 10 min he is called back to triage which is last time I see him as he was placed in hall bed . I was advised when I asked about him to go home at 315. He still had the stone that was lodged in location of his pain. He said he laid in thst hall bed fir more than 2 hrs before iv pain med and waited even til 10 pm to get in a ER bed for short time til shipped up to 3rd floor. I was so upset from lack of communication about him that I called our son in SC crying and upset , asking him to call someone in administration telling of the things going on. Genelle was his ER nurse and had promised me updates but didn't get a call til house supervisor made aware of issues and she called me about 730 ish with details. I am a 40 yr RN emergency specialist and my pts families are an important part of a pts health and stability . You can only imagine being in strange place for 24 hrs and all of a sudden ur loved one is sick and ur separated and have to return to your hotel room praying for some words from a health professional. He was scheduled Monday sept 28 for custody and stent placement and bumped several times . I learned thst I could visit 4-8 but he was in surgery and then recovery so I got to be with him about an hr, As he got back from recovery about 545. .& we had a puppy dog back in our hotel room. Melinda on .3 rd floor and her team who cared for him did good job but I have never met such callous people in healthcare. Dr Kumar called me about surgery after it was over.Niw here it is Tuesday St 2 pm and he's still in alit if pain and I had called earlier and asked for further Evaluation because my husband is not a complainer. I spoke with his nurse Latoya. My daughter from Nashville also spoke to her about what was going on.!my husband called at 2 for me to come get him and I waited outside front doors til about 145 pm and he stated they won't discharge me now til 330! He didn't know what was going on! He is not medical and doesn't know right things to ask or say like most lay persons . But he called for a director named Olan to come to his room and u sit here at 210 pm waiting on an end to all this! I would never as a RN work at a plAce thst doesn't show any value to the mission statement ! It's a joke. I hope none of you ever have to go through what he has ir I have in last 72 hrs. I have never felt so alone and scared fir my husband and myself and no one but God to turn to!!! Thank God for our children for me to vent to and step up!!! I just came home from 7 rivers hospital after my 2nd hip replacement. Mon was surgery with Dr. Petrella. Would not go to any other Dr. Home on wed. Feeling great. Dr. Petrella has a whole team of doctors, nurses and therapists that guide you through the whole proceedure, from beginning until the end. He is the best aurthopedic doctor. He is amazing. I am well on my way to recovery thanks to the whole team! Thank you goes out to the nurses on the surgical floor that took care of me, Karen, Jackie,Heather, Marcella,Jessica,Cassie ,Sharon, the director of the program, Steve and Lauren for the great physical therapy. What a great team! Don't live with hip or joint pain, go see Dr Petrella, they will have you pain free in no time. I can't say enough about the whole experience. read more

I would give this hospital zero if I could.. My dad was rushed to seven rivers by ambulance last evening because his heart rate dropped into the 20s. He has severe COPD and is on constant oxygen. He additionally has severe anxiety. He is unable to wear a mask because of his COPD. If he tries to put one on, his oxygen levels drop dangerously low. When he arrived at the hospital he was advised he had to wear a mask. He tried to explain to him he couldn't and they told him that it was all in his head that he can't wear a mask. If he refused to wear a mask he couldn't even enter the hospital. They set a chair outside and he had to sit there and wait for someone to come pick him up. The ambulance crew that transported him thankfully stayed with him and kept him on their oxygen until my mom was able to get there to pick him up because they didn't even make sure he had oxygen while he sat outside. I'm pretty sure what they did is also illegal. read more

I was a patient in Seven Rivers for two and half days on the second floor. I was not offered a clean gown, My bed wasn't touched. The nurse was so inept she changed the IV line 4 times in 12 hours. She was rude and accused me of tampering with my IV pump. My food was cold and tasteless. The patient in the bed next to me. complained of wetting her bed at 7PM, it was changed at 6:30 AM. One RN never touched me at all. The staff was just flat out lousy. There was a sign about their making rounds, no rounds were completed in my room. This is the worst hospital I have ever been in. I tell all family and friends to stay away from this horror of all hospitals. It should be condemned. read more

IF YOU WANT TO DIE GO HERE! STAY AWAY My wife had a simple kidney stone and was admitted to hospital. After 2 days laying there there Urologist never showed. My wife laid there and kidney got infected and got a Hemoglobin bigger than her kidney. We took here out after the Urologist never showed. They were mad because took her AMA (against medical treatment!) There was no treatment except a regular hospital doctor and a lesbian APRN who was the worst! Every time I asked her a question got pissed off and said you will have to ask Urology?? There never was one! Anyway took to UF SHANDS and was in ICU for three weeks up there. 5 days later there Emergency Department called me to tell me she had an infection and wanted to call in a prescription! I thought this was a joke! Called CEO Linda and said will look into the situation and call me back? Never called back! Nice Also her this past weekend the beginning of Nov 2018 I was told by a nurse that a 40 year old man went in for a allergic reaction and went into anaphylactic shock and they couldn't get airway in and he died. Also a 45 year old man fell off ladder and they didn't transfer him to Level 1 Trauma surgery center and he died also! When we moved here 4 years ago everyone said stay away from Seven Rivers Hospital aka now as Bayfront. No change same terrible doctors and administration! Go there and you will die! read more

Sh*t Show!!!!!!!!! Worst hospital in the area. Horrible care, horrible staff horrible neglect. Don't go there for something serious because they might kill you. My mother broke her foot in a couple places and the ER Department said she sprained it. In the three hours she was at the ER, she saw only two nurses and one x-ray tech. She never saw a doctor the entire time. The discharge papers she got (the nurse never explained anything, just handed them to my mom and walked away) said she sprained her ankle. Nope, she broke it. She fell a couple of nights ago and was knocked unconscious for a minute but not before breaking her arm on the way down. Thank goodness the paramedics that came in the ambulance that had to be called splinted my mom's arm because once again, the ER did nothing and she didn't see a doctor the entire time she was there. AGAIN. She had to go back to Seven Rivers Community Hospital because it was less than a mile from her home and since she hit her head, the ambulance made her go back. They didn't take a CT-Scan of her head and sent her home with 5 Tramadol. She has a terrible headache, broke her foot last week, and now her arm. Stay away from that sh*t hole. I cannot believe the earlier reviews by others that seem so negative. They must be chronic complainers. I'm from out of town and just a week ago woke at 2 AM with acute chest pain way out in Cedar Key, FL. Seemingly few choices for emergency care my wife rushed me to Seven Rivers Hospital. I received quick attention from Emergency personnel. I was suffering from severe heart arteries restriction. I spent a day in each of ER, ICU and 2nd floor general care. I found all staff to be most attentive, pleasant and professional. Previous reviewers seem to mention having experienced "rudeness" in their ill comments. Believe me.....I cannot believe those comments for I never came across one single rude person. Perhaps they were speaking about themselves. I come from a small New England town with excellent care and services. I would give this hospital 10 stars if possible and must say that the surrounding communities are lucky to have such a well run excellent hospital staffed with professionals. D. Jay Snyder read more

i don't even know where to start dont come to this crack shack hospital they are rude they are stupid they shouldn't even have jobs every time I have ever been here for anything mainly my pregnancy its all been trash visits let's start with my first visit when I found out I was pregnant and hurting did an ultra sound and the lady that did it walked on on her cell call in the middle of it with a wound sticking out my hoohaa that pissed me off then to be told I have a tuble pregnancy when my baby girl was in the beginning and they wanted me to go in for emergency c section to remove her I was only 2-3 weeks pregnant I told them no I was gonna get a second opinion which I had to wait to get in I was upset crying for days thinking my baby wasn't even gonna make it down the tube turns out they were wrong they could have killed my baby that day but no let's go to when I'm almost 6 months pregnant and I come in bright and early in my night gown bleeding in pain pretty sure it was contractions but didn't know because it was my first pregnancy so ass they left me 30 mins in waiting room bleeding and finally get to ob to not know nothing till I heard the lady's in the hall saying something breach I didn't know anything I had my mom to get answers from them ass it's now been 3-4 hours in full labor no pain meds nothing to stop contractions still in my night gown covered in blood not knowing what's gonna happen so they call Shane's and Shane's said if she is three centimeters to give her something to stop contractions they did not so finally after 7-8hours I'm informed I gonna be having the baby early and that their is nothing they can do because they dicked around all morning and now I'm in full labor fully dilated I had someone come int to do blood work and she told me if I wanted my daughter to have a chance I needed to leave that they were not gonna do anything but let me give birth still 8-9 hours their no pain pills no nothing still in my bloody night gown so being that I'm young and my daughter deserved her life I AMA my self out and drove two hours since they refused to fly me out or drive me anywhere so my mother drove 2 hours to Shane's and to be told that they couldn't do anything all because of the ori hosp because they did nothing to even help shands help me they didn't even give a little fuck worse fucking place to go next time I'll die before I ever go back and I have no Justice served not even a fucking sorry we couldn't save your daughter just o your gonna have the baby and be sent home horrible placeeeeeee and yes I have lawyers looking into this !!!! read more

Husband went in for hip surgery. The surgery went well. This is not a family friendly Hospital. The problem we had was his blood pressure was so low 90/50 and no one seemed concerned. I asked a lot of questions and was very concerned about this they made me feel like I was annoying them. At one point the nurse said does she do this at home too? Wow. I was planning on spending the night and I tried but the reclining chair they have in the room once reclined would throw me up it was like it had a spring mechanism that the slightest movement made it spring forward which was horrible with a bad back. So I got tossed around on it like a sack of potatoes. Oakhill was a much better experience and they care about the family being there. Seven Rivers in my experience does not want family there long and certainly don't ask to many questions regarding your love ones care. I would never go back there. read more

Took my wife to the E.R. with fever and severe abdominal cramps. They had no triage whatsoever. We waited nearly an hour and saw the staff ignore plenty of trauma patients and attend to what appeared to be non-emergency patients. When an apparent heart attack patent arrived (brought in by her daughters) the staff was rough and slow with what appeared to be a dying patient. I'd give it zero stars if I could. After our extended wait, we finally left and got help from a local pharmacy. I've been in 3rd world countries that were more attentive to patients. You folks don't want universal health care but you're the ones who are being treated like cattle. read more
