I barely walked myself in to the er because I couldn't breathe and was having chest pain. I later found out that this was due to a reaction with medications. The staff here were not respectful. They were nosy and condescending. One of the doctors tried to bring multiple young interns in to the room where they were evaluating me while I was in tears to "shadow my treatment". I felt this violated my privacy. I also recognized one of the interns. They charged me a higher price than any place I have ever been to before. This includes obgyn, other doctors etc. I have gotten tests done elsewhere for a way better deal, and with way better service. Not to mention that they make paying for your bills REALLY difficult. Their online system refuses to accept the log in that they assigned to me. The only way that they have accepted my payments has been by giving an employee my card over the phone which is yet another complete breach of privacy because I was given NO other choice. They said i'm required to pay at least $45 monthly to a nearly $3,000 bill or they'll send it to collections. I was told by pretty much everyone outside of the hospital that their statement is false. read more

I wish there were a way that we could put in a negative ten stars instead of just a one star. So I'm in the emergency room with an employee that injured himself at work. Check in goes well and all. In the meantime I call work comp and fill out a first report of injury. I explained to the guy checking him into emergency that when work completed emails the first report that I would forward it to him so he had the claim number and contact info. When I finally get it a half hour later ... I go up to ask for the hospital email address to forward the first report. Some girl is there and the guy is sitting in the back eating a sandwich. She grabs a piece of paper and says she isn't in the business of handing out personal emails and I can sit down with the community pen and fill the form out. What a witch ... Seriously???? read more

I got dirty looks and major attitude when I had the audacity to show up at the Emergency room without $700 cash. The guy at the desk treated me like a deadbeat when he handed me the bill, grimaced and shook his head when I could only give him what I had on me. The staff at this hospital (or some of them rather) are right wing a**holes who get offended when people get treatment and don't have insurance and don't pay in full on the way out the door. please instruct the staff to leave politics out of healthcare. read more

It is a very very sad day in America when an urine analysis takes 3 hours and it costs $1300. I went in there today, and was taken into triage immediately however after that it went all downhill from there, I was left on the bed for nearly 3 hours for a relatively insignificant diagnosis which I was able to diagnose myself since I've had many UTIs. The staff is slow and unprofessional this place is a disgrace to the medical profession read more

I don't even know where to start with this crack shack hospital when I first found out I was pregnant I was only 2 to 3 weeks pregnant I went complaining that I was cramping not knowing it was my first pregnancy and it's normal. To be told that I had an ectopic pregnancy and that they wanted to remove the baby I said no I'm gonna get a second opinion And on top of that night the lady that did my ultrasound did it vaginally and her phone rang and she took her personal phone call with the wond sticking out my who Hah so the next day i go to my OB to be told that no the baby still coming down that she's just fine she's where she supposed to be so that made me mad that they were just gonna take some thing without even showing proof Then I go in one morning not knowing what's going on first pregnancy I was cramping and I started bleeding to be left in the waiting room for 30 minutes by now I know I'm in labor cramping contractions so I start freaking out a little at a time as more and more times gone by finally I go up to OB and they do my ultrasound everything's good with the baby so I hear then they go in the hallway and I hear something that the babies breached now I'm 22 weeks pregnant obviously the babies not supposed to be due they're not telling me nothing now it's been three hours I've been there no pain meds nothing to stop the contractions nothing to boost the babies young lungs so they call Shands shands tells them that if I'm 3 cm dilated they can give me something to stop the contractions and stitch me up and I should be OK well now more time goes by and they come back in now that I've been at that hospital for seven hours to tell me that there's nothing they can do and then I'm gonna have the baby because now I'm fully dilated because I took all day to do anything when I was the only person in OB delivery so I knew they were not busy finally around 2-3 pm 7-8 hours later I decided to ama my self out to a better hospital and full-blown labor all because this hospital refused to do anything from the moment I walked in the door to the moment I walked out the door they left me in my nightgown that I wore in their for the whole 7 to 8 hours full of blood And yes my mother dead ass for them to fly me out when I first got there or drive me down there and they refused I've had two lawyers look over the case and I got no justice out of the shit place so now all I have is a daughter up in heaven all because of this hospital not giving a shit read more

Lawrence Kirby.....I went to the emergency room on 02/09/2022. The girl at the desk who takes our information asked my name and my SS # only. I even spelled my name . Then she must have pulled up my previous information from about twenty years prior. Never said a word about doing this or if this information is still current. So she had my name wrong and address as well. The first nurse I encountered was extremely rude and seemed to be trying to diagnose me with her questions. She was also complaining of her job to another employee saying I'm going back to work at the prison . I agree with that .She shouldnt be working with the general public with her attitude at all. I came into the ER with very bad pain in my lower abdomen. It was swollen and super sensitive. Once the doctor looked at me she noticed I had hernias from previous surgeries which I told her about She asked if they hurt. I said no but about 10" away and I pointed to a specific place ,I said this area hurts very much and is swollen. She never even felt the swollen area at all. She said we will do an xray and take blood and we will see what's wrong. After a few hours she came to me and said it's a hernia and we can treat the inflammation with an antibiotic. Never gave me anything for the intense pain I was in and discharged me. It's now the next day and I've taken 2 antibiotic pills so far and feel no different whatsoever. I'm still on terrible pain . She said I need to follow up with my main health care provider. I felt I was blown off big time. She also diagnosed me with constipation ! I have had diarea,just the opposite for about a week. I would never return to that hospital again after the fiasco I went through there yesterday . I used to love that hospital but It had drastically changed for the worse since I've been there Don't waist your time there just see your own doctor because that's what they will want you to do anyway. 0 stars from me . Had one of the rudest interactions with someone named Lorelei in ASU. I called and asked for an update on a family member and was told "not a clue", and was pretty much hung up on. Still waiting to hear how my grandfathers surgery turned out. Hopefully their surgical skills are better than that particular persons people skills. read more

On 5/29/2021 I visited the Bay Front emergency room Bay Front Citrus Hills. The staff that assisted me and my care was Dr Bennett, Tyler RN, and Marilyn,RT and others that assisted testing procedures. They were all professional and I felt the care was great. My health issue is ongoing and there are times that I have to go to the ER, they put me back on track, and I'm fully grateful for that care. Sandy K. read more

We had a 20 minute outpatient procedure done here recently and it went fair. The shock came when we got the billing! They billed my insurance $10,500 for a simple procedure that was literally done in 15 minutes in their outpatient surgery center in the rear of the hospital. Our insurance paid 70% and we still got slammed with a $2,200 bill out of pocket. This high price was never disclosed to us and we were blindsided. IF you decide to go to their outpatient center for service make sure you get a written estimate so you don't have the "big one" when they bill you! When I called their billing dept and tried to get this very high price reduced so I could pay it off they very rudely blew me off and could have cared less. Not impressed with this hospital or the Bayfront Hospital system. It is very clear to me now why Seven Rivers has a very bad customer rating and this hospital has earned it's nickname of "seven shivers".....there are plenty of other hospital choices in this area. read more

Most of the nurses on the ICU unit were Inconsiderate, negligent and downright uncompassionate. My husband was treated like his life had no meaning. Twice I found the nurses call button on the floor behind his bed. Twice, I had to clean him when he had a bowel movement because no one came when I called for help. He laid in feces so long that his skin was broken and bleeding. I had to ask for someone to bring him fresh water every day. He couldn't feed himself and when the food trays were brought in, they were pushed against the wall where he couldn't get it. No one cared that this critically ill man couldn't help himself. And he was a Veteran as well. You would think that the care would be so much better than it was. Absolutely Horrible experience. Run, don't walk away from this hospital! read more

I was in this hospital for 3 weeks and couldn't have asked for a more caring staff. They were genuinely concerned about me and did everything to keep me comfortable, I am truly impressed with everyone who I had the pleasure of meeting and recommended this establishment highly. Terrible. Here is the letter I sent them today regarding the care received there: My step father recently had surgery and received post-op care at your facility. There were several instances over the course of the five days he was there where his care was sub-par. For instance- the call buttons did not work. Patients were required to dial the phone to get in touch with the nursing staff. After surgery, that is near impossible. There were times we had to leave him for a short time. Without us there, he had no way to call for help. On another occasion, we called for assistance to help him to the commode. It took at least 25 minutes for someone to respond, and when we called again we were told someone had already been there to help him (which of course they had not as we were there at the time). During a five day stay, the patient care staff assisted him with personal care (teeth, sponge bath, etc.) exactly one time. We were seriously dissatisfied with the lack of compassion overall. There were two or three staff members who were pleasant and helpful. Otherwise we would not recommend your facility to anyone else, especially without a STRONG advocate present. On an even more serious note, we were sent with discharge paperwork for a patient who is NOT my step-dad. We have the discharge instructions, date of birth, name and address of another of your patients. Working in healthcare myself, I understand the seriousness of violating HIPAA. I consider this a serious violation. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope you are able to make some improvements in the above named areas. read more
