Seven Seas is one of my favorite restaurants in Downtown Vista. If you're looking for fresh seafood, great service, and a local spot with character, this is a must-visit in Vista. I've been here many times and the food is consistently excellent. The seafood is fresh, portions are generous, and the staff always makes you feel welcome. My favorites are the fish and chips and the ceviche. Whether you're stopping by for lunch, dinner, or bringing friends from out of town, Seven Seas is one of the best places to eat in Downtown Vista. We stopped in for their oyster Monday special, it did not disappoint. The oysters are $1.50 all day, they were surprisingly fresh and not at all gritty. We ordered 24 total, both east and west coast, we enjoyed it with their hot sauces on the side. We also ordered fish tacos and a lobster pasta for our main dishes. Everything tasted great, but the lobster was a little rubbery. For drinks we ordered a nice light lager and a spicy tamarindo cocktail. Both were great. The service was a little slow here for a Monday night, but the food made up for it. If you're looking for a new oyster place, this is it. read more

I've been watching seven seas since they opened but finally made here. It was my birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. It wasn't all that busy upon our Saturday at 7pm arrival and we were seated immediately. We spent a long time trying to figure out what we wanted since everything sounds so good. In the meantime, our server brought us tasters of wines we were interested in. Unfortunately, they were out of several of the wines I wanted to try. We split the clam chowder which was delicious, rich and filling. The clams were so tender. I only wish there were a few less potatoes, but maybe we were just unlucky with scoops we got? I would still get it again. When we finally decided, we got the Spanish clams and coconut curry salmon. The clams were perfectly cooked and the sauce was delicious. The grilled bread was so good dipped in it. The sausage in it was a bit chewy but it gave a good flavor to the sauce. The salmon was a tiny bit over cooked but with the sauce it still tasted great, he still loved his dish. The bok Choy and carrots were a nice addition. I will definitely come back and try other things based on the great flavors of what we ordered. Their oyster Mondays, taco Tuesdays and happy hour are also another great reason to return. read more

This place was recommended to us for their oyster Mondays, $1.50 each all day. We love oysters and had to give this place a try. It was kinda slow for a Monday, we weren't sure if that's a bad thing, but we still ordered 24 oysters, East and West Coast and they came with a variety of hot sauces on the side. The oysters were fresh and delicious, no grittyness at all. We also ordered the crab and lobster carbonara, fish tacos and a small clam chowder. Everything tasted amazing, but the oysters were the best thing we had here. The service was okay, it could have been better. We will definitely come back here on Mondays. My husband and I have been wanting to try this place for a minute now so we came in around 7 on a Thursday and got sat right away. Menu options are of good variety but not overwhelming. We decided on the cheesy biscuits for an appetizer and then the mahi Mahi fish tacos and the mahi fish and chips upon our lovely server's recommendation. Both mahi dishes were magical. Ummm yes! We came here for the first time just before Valentine's Day. Honestly, I'm ready to go back. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left the staff was amazing. The decor is pretty rad as well! Now the main attraction...we started with crab cakes...legit. Would definitely order again. They were very well made. Not massive but oh so good. I ordered the salmon...now I'm not a huge salmon person. I like it but it's not a "go to". This one though...I'd have a hard time not ordering next time we come in. It was amazing. I met with friends I haven't seen in a long time. Our party included an infant and our server, Favian, was very friendly and patient with us. He took multiple photos for us as requested and was just overall a very positive person. He was great! The food was delicious and served in generous portions. Came tonight for date night with the hubs. I love that the windows and doors to Main Street are open. What a beautiful vibe! We came for happy hour we're seated right away. The woman who took our orders was fantastic she was helpful but not overly helpful. Our drinks came within minutes and soon thereafter our meal. I chose two grilled fish tacos and my husband ordered the mahi-mahi fries to share and a grilled shrimp taco. Everything was cooked to perfection and very tasty. Started coming after 3 weeks after they initially opened. It's a great place and a restaurant that is needed in Vista due to the seafood aspect. Came here in the PM on 10-04-25, and it didn't seem busy but the service was slow. The bartender had to step in and she was great. She then basically became the server because the server was busy doing other stuff. This time we ordered a dozen oysters- half East coast and half West coast, 4 scallops, a mug of clam chowder, 2 beers, and a glass of wine. Everything was delicious. Whatever sauce they put on the scallops should be sold in stores. The mug of clam chowder was great because usually this alternates when I come. I tried, I think the house wine which was a buttery Chardonnay. I enjoyed it and would order it again. I like the music they play here and I like that they are adding more "events" like Sunday football and Taco Tuesdays. We will definitely be coming back for good food and ambiance. read more

I was in need of an evening snack, didn't want a big meal so I sat at the bar and ordered snacks. The mai tai was good, though I'm a 1944 Mai tai snob. Frankly when I saw this place was opening I was hoping it would be a tiki bar. Maybe they need to add a speakeasy? Really nice upscale casual vibe inside. Sign said seat yourself so we did in a very comfortable booth along the wall. Katie greeted us right away with water and utensils. We started with drinks...because why not, it's Sunday afternoon! I had the blueberry lemon drop and the hubs had the house margarita...both were super cold and refreshing. I ordered local catch of the day sandwich which was swordfish. It was cooked perfectly and served with a broccoli slaw and house made chips. The slaw was great but I wasn't a fan of the chips. My wife and I have dined at Seven Seas numerous times and we truly enjoy the atmosphere, great food, and service. This past Saturday was our 50th wedding anniversary and we decided to bring our family (kids and their spouses and grandkids) there for our celebration. They certainly made our evening and did not disappoint with a wonderful meal and a great time! We were seated at the "VIP" table which was a little more private and we truly enjoyed ourselves. My first time here. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I liked our server. When I asked for Tabasco she brought me all their hot sauces in case I wanted to try any others. I tried the Table Sauce and thought it was really good. I ordered a Mug of Clam Chowder and Patatas Bravas & Shishito Peppers (fingerling potatoes, roasted garlic aioli, grilled lemon). Okay the food quality is amazing here, top of the line and freshest seafood. The clam chowder is actually fire, reminded me of the chowder from Fish House Vera Cruz in San Marcos. Kinda got a little disappointed when my $17 shrimp taco plate got two shrimps on each taco and bunch of cabbage. The kids menu is actually really good and the burger was perfectly made although they got the order wrong the first time they added cheese when we said no cheese but I don't blame the chefs. Everything else is great the atmosphere and the ambiance is laid back and I like how they play the baseballs games on the tvs. Most definitely one thing they lack was the salsa, they have bottle salsas that you buy at the store but they don't have the freshly made green and red salsas. We've been here two or three times now, and every visit has been consistently excellent. We usually order the special when available, and it has been phenomenal every time. The seafood is always incredibly fresh, the vegetables taste fresh and well-prepared, and the presentation is beautifully done. We've ordered oysters, the seafood platter where you can select your own items, and the Siete Mares soup, which came with a very generous portion of seafood in a flavorful tomato-based broth. Everything was served fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The seafood platter presentation over ice was especially well done. We added our own onion and cilantro to the soup, but honestly, the flavor was already great on its own. The cocktails have also been outstanding. We tried several drinks, including a smoky Oaxacan-style Old Fashioned, espresso martinis, margaritas, and a few other house cocktails. The staff is very accommodating and happy to adjust sweetness or flavor preferences to match what you're looking for. Service has been consistently friendly and welcoming, and Lindsey in particular was phenomenal. She was knowledgeable about the menu, gave great recommendations, and really took the time to understand what flavors and drinks we would enjoy. You can tell the staff genuinely cares about the experience. We also loved the fresh rolls, handmade butter, and the hot towels brought out to clean our hands. Overall, this place feels like a hidden gem. It deserves far more attention than it gets, in my opinion. If you're considering trying it, I would absolutely recommend giving it a shot. I loved the food and loved our waitress Lindsey! We got the mug of clam chowder, which I thought was very reasonably priced for its sizes. Definitely enough to share for 2 people. We also got the Spanish clams and Cioppino to share. I thought the sauce of the clams were a little salty, but I still enjoyed it (except for 1 sandy clam). However, the Cioppino was the clear winner. The size of the crab legs in the dish was bigger than expected too. The restaurant itself feels very laid back and homey. One thing I would change is the flatware. Just thought it could have been a little more upscale. For appetizers we had crispy coconut shrimp, grilled Mediterranean octopus and west coast style crab cakes. The shrimp was quite tasty. The grilled octopus had good flavor. Crab cakes had too much bread crumbs in my opinion but that's hard to get away from in California. Dinner we had ordered San Francisco cioppino, pan roasted branzino and crab & lobster carbonara and all was quite tasty and good! Drinks were decent at best. Let's start with the service, the bartender/ server was informative and very helpful with the menu. We ordered the calamari strips which might be the best I've eaten EVER! Catch of the day sandwich with sea bass, spot on. Wife had the shrimp and crab salad and she loved it. Seven Seas gets a 5 star review for food and an incredible wait staff! I was impressed! The fish and chips and the calamari were incredible! I don't want to take stars away, because the food was exceptional, but the margarita (and I had 2) was pretty much a mock-tail. Came here recently for the first time. We were able to grab two seats at the bar without a wait. I started with a delicious spicy pineapple margarita and ended up trying a strawberry kombucha type drink they had on draft, both delicious. My husband went for an IPA. We chose some items from the raw bar menu: oysters, scallops and shrimp. It was all fresh and delicious. We are looking forward to going back and trying more items off the menu. Our first time to come here and everything started bad. It took a waitress over 20mins to come help us and take our order. After a waitress took our order, everything were good ( fresh oyster and clams) until i get to the seven seas (crab). First try, tasted bad. I thought it was my imagination. Then i tasted again and that's when i realized it tasted like ammonia (which destroyed all my taste bud and spit the crab out). Mentioned it to the waitress and their solution was to replace the crab. The first crab left bad taste in my mouth, i didn't want anything else. Seven Seas is a great new seafood spot in Vista Village. Everything about our experience was great. Service was incredible, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was fun and inviting. The wine list is pretty solid and so is the beer selection. My wife and I got the Pacific rockfish, oyster Po boy, and an order of ceviche. We were very happy with the rockfish and Po boy. The ceviche was good, but it wasn't very memorable. Looking forward to a return visit. read more

We were a group of 9 and things started out well - table was ready, drink orders taken, separate bills offered. The biscuits are delicious, a must try! I asked that my chowder be served before my main, but both were served together. The chowder is more potato and onion/leeks than clam - I would pass. One person complained and it was taken off his bill. Other options were decent - fish and chips, coconut shrimp, burger, poke, fish tacos.
