I had such a great experience tonight at Misadventure! I ordered the Jealous Cousin and divine, really well balanced and memorable. The owner was doing to Earth and welcoming, which made the atmosphere feel even more inviting. I also met a regular who told me about their 1920's themed murder mystery event. He mentioned tickets are available on their website and it honestly sounds like a fun night out. The space itself is charming, there is a patio area, and I loved the detail of having a piano along with live music on certain nights. They rotate a seasonal menu, which keeps things interesting, and offer all day happy hour on Mondays. Between the drinks, food, and overall ambiance, it is a place I will definitely return to. Wow, what a disappointment. The waitress was on her 3rd day (she did great under the conditions) and was given the entire place to serve including bussing the tables. It's not a big place but it's way too much given the scope of the menu. Speaking of which, probably 75% of the menu was out of stock. And a bunch of it you wouldn't know until you ordered it. With an overwhelmed waitress that meant every misfired order meant another 10 min wait. The drinks? Really not that impressive. I can't understand the high marks. We were the only patrons when we first arrived...Crystal was the bartender and she was awesome! We started with bloody Mary's, delicious! I've been here a few times so far and it's definitely one of my favorite cocktail places in North County hands down! It's also awesome that they're opened pretty late considering most places close at around 9pm. I'm a huge fan of their highballs as I haven't had any places so far that make it as great as they do. I remember I found out about this place when attending a Yelp Elite event during pre-COVID time and the servers and drinks were so good back then. And they continue to be so good with even better drinks! The bartender/server is super nice (I forgot to ask her name) that makes me want to visit again. She told me that they have live music happening on Friday/Saturday nights, which you can check on their social media for all their updates. The place is pretty spacious and it's never crowded when I visit and I've visited here during weekday nights. Parking is pretty big so also a huge perk! What a cool place to have a drink and listen to music. They are known for their Vodka which is made from bakery items. I had a flight of vodka cocktail tastings. They were tasty and unique with cute names. You get to pick your choices for the flight. We sat in a backroom with velvet settee, and an electric fireplace. Interesting location, almost seems like it's in an office park and the outside is pretty unassuming. However inside you are taken into a diverse interior with excellent drinks and food. We came here after completing the Carlsbad Marathon so we didn't necessarily look or feel the best after our nap haha, Misadventure took care of us though and set us up in a nice quiet corner. I tried their holiday drinks and the banana one was way too sweet but the banana itself was good. I then did the egg nog one which was better but still nothing fantastic about it. The chips were basic but the salsa was ok. The deviled eggs id advise against them. They tasted old. The interior decor was really nice. After my birthday dinner, I wanted to grab drinks somewhere new. Yelp pointed me to Misadventure & Co. I had never seen this place before, even though I worked in Vista for a few years. It's not in the best location, that's for sure. We walked in and it wasn't packed since the bar was closing in a couple of hours. The lights were dimmed down which created a nice ambience. The bartender was awesome and greeted us when we walked in. She was a lifesaver because I accidentally left my purse there. She made sure it was safe, even texting other staff members to let them know. When I called the next day, they had it waiting for me. The drinks were great. They had a crème brûlée dessert where the top was torched right in front of us. It added a cool effect and tasted amazing. We also found out they host a lot of events during the week like live music and murder mystery nights. They even have games you can play with your group if you want. One of my favorite areas features dark red velvet couches, heavy drapery, two armchairs, a fireplace, and a poetic quote on the ceiling. I love that they offer not only physical menus but also leather-engraved barcodes for online viewing. At Misadventures, they craft their own cocktail mixtures and distill their own vodka, which they sell. Typically, I enjoy a traditional Old Fashioned, but Misadventures' unique twist, called Dark Money, is delightful. They also offer various wood options for adding a smoky flavor, with apple and cherry being my favorites. They serve small bites, and I highly recommend the charcuterie board. I'm not the biggest fan of vodka or vodka cocktails in general, but originally wandered in here for the sustainability mission.
