They worked together to help our daughter feel safe, supported, and connected during her eight-month stay and in the four months since she returned home. Last summer we looked into several residential facilities for our daughter. We, and she, chose WMR specifically for their home-like, non-isolated environment, as well as their variety of therapeutic modalities. Our daughter was involved with horses, music, art, farm work, school work, and a wide variety of community activities. She received excellent teaching and mentoring from caring and committed staff and support personnel. Though our daughter was particularly challenging, the WMR team worked tirelessly to support and build trust with her. They worked to help her regulate emotions, get medical check ups and psychiatric care as needed, progress in school, learn practical skills, and find ways to positively use her talents. Our daughter's first therapist was good, then changed employment part way into our daughter's stay. The new therapist (LCSW) was excellent, and worked well with our daughter and with us. We had regular contact and access to her clinical documentation. We talked with the clinical director as needed, and she guided the WMR team. In the year since first contacting WMR, we've observed the directors and team adapt and improve in many ways, to provide the individualized care their residents need.

They do not take our insurance but we decided to just paid for the first visit which was $180.00. It was like just taking that money and burning it, that is how bad the first appointment went. My parents were there for me for years, helping send me to many rehabs. One rehab was even a two-year program. I could stay clean for a few weeks or even some months but nothing worked. Checking in at the front desk was easy. I had filled out the necessary documents online, so check in went quick. I also had my payment ready which was helpful (and they gave me a 10% discount). While I was signing documents, the sweet lady at the front desk chatted with my daughter and made her feel better. This was just the first good encounter of many. We didn't wait long before we were called back. The young lady that took us back was so sweet with my daughter. I wish I had caught we her name. She also helped to calm the nerves of my daughter. The anesthesiologist was an absolute hoot! We loved his "dad jokes." It was nice of him to come in and explain the anesthesia process to my 8-year-old. It helped her to know what to expect. Dr. Major also popped in to say hello. He was great with explaining things and calming the nerves. After speaking with him, I knew she was in good hands. Surgery went super quick (which is a good sign)! They had me back there with her in the recovery room in no time at all! The nurse, Michelle, is possibly the sweetest human being to exist. She's the one who took care of my child after surgery. She brought her water, a popsicle, and a nice warm blanket. When my daughter was still shivering, Michelle rushed to get her another warm blanket. She made sure my child was as comfortable as she could be. Michelle sat down with me and explained what to expect and how to care for my daughter post surgery. She highlighted the very important information and made sure I didn't have any questions. She gave me a few tips and tricks which have been a lifesaver. When my daughter was feeling well enough, Michelle wheeled her out to my car in a wheelchair. She let me bring the car around the front so my daughter didn't have to be out in the cold. We had a great experience here and I'd highly recommend this surgical center!

However, they lied to us about the crutches I needed afterwards being free -- I would not have accepted them if I knew I had to pay for them. We were assured they were complementary and that was a lie. I would go to a more reputable place that does not cheat and lie to its patients -- and I wonder if they've cut corners elsewhere in quality of care, as this sort of immoral and unethical behavior may have seeped in elsewhere.
